- As one of the first 3D fighting games I ever owned, Tekken 6 is the game that got me into the series, and it's one that I still revisit nowadays for some casual fun!
The Tekken series is no stranger to the channel, so I felt it was necessary to cover this game in great detail. From its development all the way to its post-release legacy, let's learn about why Tekken 6 is so special!

Another thing I liked about 6 is how the console versions featured alt costumes made by a lot famous manga authors (mostly notably the Lars costume Kishimoto made), of which Bamco took even further when SoulCalibur IV had entire OCs made by them (and is also the reason it's never been rereleased along with the Star Wars characters being in it).
I LOVE this game. My fondest memories of Tekken are with 3 and 6.
I spent many, many rainy days and nights playing Tekken that year's very long vacation. I also remember playing online for the first time and winning my first battles. It was so exciting!
Man, I LOVED customizing characters too. Seeing endings, finding the secret paths in the adventure game... Ahhh! ❤

I think Tekken 6 is very underrated. It, alongside MK9, was my first ever fighting game and I was so into it. It's almost perfect from a casual perspective for me, at least.
@11:14 You included footage from my T6 ranked highlights video. Nice. I absolutely adored this game and its still my favorite Tekken game ever. Fighting choreography, facial expressions, intros and winposes peaked quality wise for the entire series on 6. There was also more content and stuff to do in general and it wasn't region locked to my memory. There were people who only played Tekken 6 as an online rpj in a quest to unlock all S tier item customization attributes for every character on scenario campaign. The fact that you could do online coop with people on scenario campaign was very underrated. The new characters all brought something new to the table and given story reasons to be there (Miguel & Leo seeking revenge for the actions of Gcorp/Mishima Zaibatsu). I had it on 360 but had a friend who owned the ps3 copy. The game was a better experience on 360 because of the party system and superior online experience vs the ps3. Tekken 6 had clans similar to shooting games and scheduled clan battles that many people spectated on the 360. Also it was objectively the peak in terms of character customization if you line up T5-T8.
Tekken 5 was my intro. I think we rented it twice 🤔 never owned it and somehow ended up with 4 instead 🤣 I freakin' love 4 and the memories I had with it... come on... Heihachi in a fundoshi is a hilarious core Tekken memory 😂
Tekken 6 was my first fighting game for Xbox 360 and I had an amazing time with it, the gameplay was so much fun that most of my time in this game was me trying to ne creative amd learn new combos with the likes of Lars, Lee, Bryan and quite a lot of other characters and then trying them out in arcade and ghost battles as well as online as this was the first Tekken game in the series I started to take seriously, the scenario campaign was a good story mode for its time and definitely better than T5's Devil Within story mode. The combos as mentioned were great and scary as well, Bruce on rage with his combos was a bad joke and a comeback king, Steve was scary due to his ff2 bound move, Lee had one of the best bound moves in the game, Lars was crazy with his overall combo damage and had the best wall combo in the game, Devil Jin was the only good Mishima at a competitive level and Jack-6 finally became relevant in this game and Bryan's taunt game was the best in this game.
Moreover, the soundtrack is great featuring some of the best tracks in the series and the stages were also great, customisation wise this is the best it would be, the online netcode while serviceable was slightly better on X-360 due to the game running better and just being the superior way to play the game.

7:52 combos are longer but the damage is actually lower. In Tekken 5 your health was 145 and damage was wayy higher overall when you factor in damage modifiers like Counter hits and clean hits you could get cooked in 2 touches ESPECIALLY since Tech catches and Okizeme was brutal in T5. In T6 moving forward everyones health was buffed to 180 and everyones damage was nerfed slighly by 2/3 points. Electrics used to do 26 damage in T5 in T6 they do 22.
RAGE on the other hand is a completely different beast in T6. Iirc its a 20-30% damage boost which for refrence in Tekken 7&8 its only 5%. That increase also stacks with counter hits and clean hits which means your health bar can get deleted in 2/3 counter hits with certain characters, the trade off is it activated at 11% health which means any poke will kill you in one hit and you have to survive the incoming wake up mix to have a chance at making a comeback.
I remember when they hyped up Paul and Kazuya in the website. It always seems like they felt like they have to mention the old rivalry but does absolutely nothing with it.
I was in college when Tekken 6 came out. Good lord, I'm old.
Don't know why I didn't think of it before, but I wonder if the roster size and moving to a new engine might be part of why the majority of the cast didn't get redesigns for their default outfits.
I did play Tekken 6 a lot, though I know I was ass and never played against other humans. I didn't actually learn Tekken until 7. While I have no desire to go back and play it, I still have a spot in my heart for Tekken 6. It has some of my favorite music in the series and use some of it Tekken 8.
I remember being excited for a new Tekken for a console, that has games that look like movies, all the way in 2005, before being disappointed by the visual downgrade in 2006. My friend was quick to point out that the first teaser was CGI and graphics might improve overtime.
Surprised you never mentioned the PSP version, which has a massive modding scene, and is the version playable on PS4 and PS5. Sadly, no Scenario Campaign, or even ways to play with other people as it was the PSP version.

Armour kings endings actually really good khan, there’s really good lore in it, it ties with King and Marduks ending and it’s the only ending in T6 that has good plot 😊
I actually bought tekken 6 at a comic-con, it’s a very fun game I did beat the scenario campaign but there’s some characters missing I’ve not unlocked yet. Character customization is pretty good too because of the unique pieces for each character on the roster.
To this day I’ve wanted that Lars Naruto costume back in a Tekken game lol

I started Tekken with Tekken 6 but for PSP, and I've been learning the game little by little. Kinda want to try Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, though, because I want to experience more of it before moving on to newer titles.
4:35 - this is very not true, Tekken 6/6BR runs off same exact hardware that was a retail PS3, what happend is they ported Tekken 6 from 360 to PS3 instead of using arcade port that was native with PS3.

I've been playing Tekken 6 on a psp emulator on my phone for a long time now, and it's honestly pretty good. I can't wait to suffer on Tekken 8 later lmao

Alright, scenario campaign was the best. It’s only repetitive if you’re grinding for S rank items, not trying new builds, or not switching characters. The only real issue I have with this mode is the online co-op. It’s unstable and only has 10 stages. However, it gives out S rank items way more often. The online stages are a bit longer and more unique.
Honestly it sux that this mode hasn’t returned.

I have a soft spot for Tekken 6 but it does have its issues. You can only rank up your character to 1st Dan in Ghost Battle. So as soon as you've gotten your favorite character to that rank the mode becomes useless. It's only in the psp-version that you can rank up higher than that.

Tekken 6 deserve to get a Port or remastered version on PS4 and PS5 and PC from harada team development a Port of Tekken 6 the Xbox 360 - PS3 version on PS4 and PS5 and PC
It was my first tekken online game used to love playing it. But my god the online was painful :( i still occasionally play tekken 6 on my channel as i play old fighting games and do playthroughs. Fun to relive nostalgia :) check it out if anyone wants to see street fighter x tekken, tekken 4,5,6, mk9 mkx,mk1 :)

How is there 39 characters in tekken 6? On the select screen there are 8 in each section. Times that by 5 you get 40 fighters and you have to add 1 for panda as she comes under kuma
It's incredible watching this and remembering a lot of my brothers friends said it wasn't as good as T5. I love this Game. But the elements being Linked the customization was quite tedious. I didn't like that Customization had no color wheel amd because the online was horrible, earning gold to unlock custom items and clothes was even worse. Thank goodness the game was and still is hella fun play.

Which arcade hardware does tekken 6 run on
It ran on the Namco System 357, which was based on the PS3's hardware.

Somehow I missed every single odd number (Tekken 2/4/6/8 also Tag as well), it kind of fits since I was introduced to the original game on PS1 and eventually Tekken 3 then T5 on PS3 and finally Tekken 7.
I be feeling like im the only mf that honestly enjoyed the campaign/new Tekken force mode but the customization was the best ever an haven't been good since T6 T8 customization sucks ahh

probably the most robust and feature packed tekken game ever. 7 and 8 aint even come close.
honestly, Tekken 6 is my least favorite in the franchise. still a good game. but bound turned it into a juggle fest, not to mention the story took a nose dive so massive 3D Fighters have yet to recover and if it wasn't for Street Fighter IV and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Fighting Games as a whole would've lost a lot of good faith.
Tekken 6 is horrible. Long loading times, lame stages, bad music. And bad character designs. 5 and 7 are better. 8 also sucks.
Least obvious bait. Especially the loading time bit. You can play 6 even on the PS4 and the loading is less than 1 second. Get real
