Survivaland I am a Survivalist and enjoy watching different people use different methods to get the same thing done. The fact that you spent a good amount of time on your shelter including using natural mortar and when you woke up you STILL said it was cold. Let me know you were for real. Survival isn't always comfortable. If it is something is very VERY WRONG. For your Honesty and great thinking on your shelter and giving reasons WHY you put it where you did you earned me as a subscriber. Well done sir and I look forward to more.
Joel Henderson Honestly, I just don’t understand how these guys call themselves survivalist. It’s amazing! Most of these guys shop at Walmart, buy steak to cook, knock up a lean to and hang out for the night.
I really like how you used the ground cover between the rocks., great source of insulation. I never thought to use a rock as a part of the emergency shelter. Beautiful surroundings. The river is a great sound. Very relaxing.
Cool relaxing video! If you ever need a replacement SAK, check out the Victorinox Rangergrip 78. It’s almost identical function wise, except the awl has a hole in it which can be used for sewing. Also the blade can be opened with one hand. I’ve used it to fix my bag that ripped in the woods. Cheers from Canada
Simon, I swear by the Swiss Army knife - I still have the basic knife I got as a scout 48 years ago, amazing quality. I upgraded to the Trekker awhile back, and like the Forsterer, is about the best pocket knife you'll ever want. Never leave home without. I have a mini-ferro rod instead of the toothpick on mine. It's tiny but it does work, as does that tiny saw. Thanks as always for an enjoyable and instructive video. Croatia looks like an outdoorsman's paradise - everything from beach to mountain. Greetings from the Cali desert!
A flat roof like this works fine until it rains, then it transforms from a shelter into a shower head. Gotta get a pitch or angle on it to allow water to run off before it penetrates. Piling on debris and blocking light is fine for insulating reasons, but a flat roof will not block water, it will catch and contain it and direct it down on your head.
odličan video! Jako dobar izbor preklopnog noža za ovakvu avanturu. Koristim gotovo identičan samo sa orahovim ručkama već skoro godinu dana i na pameti mi je također bilo ovako nešto. Sve vrlo lijepo snimljeno, dovoljno informativnih krupnjaka. Sve u svemu još jedan odličan uradak.
Nice one! Stone shelter is something new, I love it. I challenge you to do an overnighter with only a can of tuna, a trash bag and some marigold balsam. And make them all as useful as possible.
danke für das presentieren der schweiz wie felix immler mit den taschenmesser.macht immer wieder spass zu sehen wass alles angestelt werden kann mit solch einem messer in der natur danke
Great video! I’ve done a video of building a shelter with NO cutting tools with me. It was very difficult to collect resources. It was an ok shelter, but it was my first try with no gear. Next time I try it, I’ll make it better. But it was a start.
You should some wood carving back in that pine forest something like a spoon or maybe even a kuksa. All in all great video. Pozdrav iz Makedonija brate 🤘🇲🇰
I know you said one item, but I think it'd be interesting to do an overnighter with your friend's bug out bag. The rule is you don't get to see what's inside until you're in the woods.
I want to add-- if the materials are available in quantity build 12 inches of loft beneath you.. The cold ground can set you off into cramps and back spasms or uncontrollable shivering. To get your body temp up. Cold ground =bad news
What is must have minimal survival gear for a regular person how is going masrom or berry picking? We have constant problem with lost bery pictures in estonian forests getting hurt or killed.
When you build a small shelter like that and have your fire right out side the door as you did. I'm curious how it would have helped if you pushed two of those rocks from the fire while they were hot into the shelter. Make a small pit and put them in the pit with a little dirt back on them. They would hold the heat better and release so.e heat all night long. I would do that all the time with the coal and the rocks to help stay warm at night. I think it would have to make a difference in a small shelter. Especially if you made sure it had a lot of insulation on and around the shelter
2 questions. Did you use the saw to strike the fire steel? If so how do you keep it from closing on your fingers? Reason I asked is I just got a victorinox ranger. It’s very similar to the one you used (I haven’t had a chance to practice with it) doesn’t seem to have a lot of options for striking fire steel .
This shelter looks amazing, great job. It is too bad you didn't have more grass because than you would probably be quite comfortable. About the itmes: I already said on FB what you can take, mainly only a knife or a saw and the bit about beer was more or less a joke, but if you feel like it that would also be cool to see :D -Matej
I'm just a few minutes into the video. Glad you hear you say no music. That sounds great to me for these types of videos. I really don't like it when anyone adds music.
FYI You might have already been told but the thing to punch holes in stuff on the knife is known as a awl (pronounced all) Im a host of worthless Jeopardy knowledge. I really enjoy the videos. Keep up the great work. Rob
ncfr69 wow..good information..I had a knife that had an awl on one side and a none on the other side..I never got the chance to use the awl but the none came in handy.
If there was one more piece of equipment that I could take with me on such an overnighter, it would be a lightweight tarp. It would make shelter construction easier, or could be used as a wrap/blanket.
Problem with limestone is that it cracks under heat and does not hold it that well. That entire area is nothing but limestone. OK, some sandstone too and grovel, but that is about it.
You can protect yourself from spiders snakes and bugs bymixing mud and grass together then putting it on your shelter walls and letting it dry. You can also smoke the bugs/animals out of the shelter by filling it with lots of smoke and wiating a while.
Respect man That kind of nature we have in Croatia so are you somewhere in area ? Becouse I watch lots of yours vid - nature is similar Keep up a good job and enjoy - nature belongs to people like us
Thank you guys for watching! Make sure you like this vid and sub if you're new. Glad you like it!

What did you use to start the fire?
damn didn't know a caterpillar could be that dangerous or was it a look a like?

I have been looking this kind of video for over a year. Wilderness survival + swiss army knife = me like. More please!
I love all these couch survivalist who know it all and how to do everything. Young man you did good for a over nighter!

AWESOME VIDEO NO MUSIC GREAT. TO HEAR U AND THE WATER IN THE.BACK GROUND WONDERFUL.
A nicely thought-out video, showing a possibility for sheltering in a survival situation.
I've learned something new!
Thanks!
That looks like a nice knife to have out there!
You can`t do much, but it is way better than what you can do with hands.
Cool relaxing video!

Alex T I carry my SAK type rucksack always with me for over 9 years now, still going strong
Nice. The goal of any shelter is to keep you warm by trapping air and protect you from the wind/rain/heat/snow. Doesnt matter how you do it.
One word bubby. "Tuff" Hell of a job, in my opinion. Good shelter. 👌💪

Finally something I can do in poland.
I never thought of stacking river rocks and other stone for a foundation to the shelter. Excellent video.
Just never heat wet rock the moisture in the rock heats and can explode the rock from the inside out

JusBidniss A SHOWER
Yep. Same with the guys who build shelters by digging part way in the ground. Rarely do I see any drainage systems or considerations for rain.
It does have an angle/ pitch to the shelter's roof. Don't know how you missed it.🤦♂️
Haha a shower head.
He is not a survival, only camping but I like to laft😂
My favorite type of video cause most time this is what you get stuck with.
Well done👍
Subbed
Only thing I’d add is for people to keep in mind that it takes time to prepare for night. Don’t wait too long. Good use of materials at hand.
Cool shelter an I agree always double check for critters
Looks like you had a great time , i enjoyed the video thank you .
great video,
very realistic example of somebody being caught out over night,
Very realistic scenario. Thanks for the video.
Great work on the shelter! I learn a lot from your vids Simon and also find them really soothing :) many thanks from Finland!
Perfect shelter. Most excellent !
Nice one! No cordage and most of all no plastic tarp... THIS is survival/bushcraft after all you didn’t really need your victorinox 👍🏻👊🏻
odličan video! Jako dobar izbor preklopnog noža za ovakvu avanturu. Koristim gotovo identičan samo sa orahovim ručkama već skoro godinu dana i na pameti mi je također bilo ovako nešto. Sve vrlo lijepo snimljeno, dovoljno informativnih krupnjaka. Sve u svemu još jedan odličan uradak.

Good job very realistic , plenty of stones around so use them to keep you warmer in your shelter . Thank you for sharing this 😉
You did good and the video is without music YESSS 👍🏻

Superb again friend !! without so much gear it is amazing Overnighter. I wish for more subscriber and keep doing good job. Thanks from India
I didn’t realize it was a 15 minute video until it ended. AWESOME!!!
You should some wood carving back in that pine forest something like a spoon or maybe even a kuksa. All in all great video. Pozdrav iz Makedonija brate 🤘🇲🇰
Just love your videos
My go to is victorinox trekker (trailmaster outside north america) with traditional blade shape which is what you are using or the victorinox hiker.
Very cool video good stuff I am subscribing can’t wait to see the rest of your videos
I really enjoy the videos and information you share. Thank you for all that you do
lovin the videos and keep up the awesome work and hi all the way from Canada
Great vid man, beautiful location too.
I know you said one item, but I think it'd be interesting to do an overnighter with your friend's bug out bag. The rule is you don't get to see what's inside until you're in the woods.
I like this idea!
Great adventure Thanks for sharing . You did well with your construction. look forward to your vids.
Very nice stone shelter, i'm impressed.

Awesome video keep it up
Wonderful scenery where you are. Loved the video.
You made it through the night, good deal .
Thanks. Very cool.
Loved the video, subscribed. Keep up the good work
Thank you sir!
Nice! On your knife that's an AWL (pronounced like ALL) and a PHILLIPS screwdriver to with your flat blade. I just subscribed to your channel today!
Shovel, another great video!
Cool camp bud.great vid.allnighter 3 item challenge natural shelter maybe.
Hellow where are u from i hear your excent but cant place it
W0w!!
I like the freedom you are. I love nature and going camping is my dream.
And I would like to invite you to visit the forest in Thailand.
That was an awesome shelter
Very cool 👍
Niiiiiiice little shelter Simon. I’m only 5 feet tall so it would’ve been cozy for me.
Where the hells ur dog 🐕😅
🫵👍🙏❤️
TJ
I believe it's Victorinox Trailmaster, not forester. Love that knive. nice video and great work. i glad you didn't put music.
You are correct. Trailmaster is known as trekker here in north america. Forrester has corkscrew instead of phillips screwdriver.
What is must have minimal survival gear for a regular person how is going masrom or berry picking? We have constant problem with lost bery pictures in estonian forests getting hurt or killed.

Where is this?
Very cool buddy, I enjoyed that 👍

👍
I think an challenge with a small fishing kit, an axe and that victorinox tool for two days
Great video! I enjoy your work!!!

Love watching your videos! They are well done! What I would like to see, is you go out with a machete and do a video with just that tool =)
thank you for sharing have a safe 2020
Try using the paracord survival grenade, a small version than the pod you did.
Well done Sir, thanks for sharing
FYI You might have already been told but the thing to punch holes in stuff on the knife is known as a awl (pronounced all) Im a host of worthless Jeopardy knowledge. I really enjoy the videos. Keep up the great work. Rob
ncfr69 wow..good information..I had a knife that had an awl on one side and a none on the other side..I never got the chance to use the awl but the none came in handy.
Great information and video as always my friend !!! We appreciate your hard work. Blessings 😇🇺🇸
Have a safe 2022 I will see you again in 2023 👍
great video!!
You made it with your bare hands a knife and a couple chocolate bars..All respect to you...
Nice work.
If there was one more piece of equipment that I could take with me on such an overnighter, it would be a lightweight tarp. It would make shelter construction easier, or could be used as a wrap/blanket.
A tarp and a wool blanket can make things much better.
This is one of your best video's, The situation you set is the most common. Great. thx
Great vid thank you
Very nice. Didn't you want to have your Malinois with you to spend the night in the woods without any light ? I guess the climbing prevented that.
Great video sir. Thank you
Early for this video 🙋♂️
Thank you buddy!
"That was a long night" 👀 Great video, thanks once again mate.
Would hot rocks in the shelter have helped?
Problem with limestone is that it cracks under heat and does not hold it that well. That entire area is nothing but limestone. OK, some sandstone too and grovel, but that is about it.
Please leave all music out of your videos, I don't think people like any music in anybody's video's
Carl Schmiedeke I agree
I agree.
He can do whatever he wants in his videos. If you don't like it then PUT A FUCKING MUTE ON!
He can do anything he wants too. Dip shit.
You can protect yourself from spiders snakes and bugs bymixing mud and grass together then putting it on your shelter walls and letting it dry. You can also smoke the bugs/animals out of the shelter by filling it with lots of smoke and wiating a while.
I would say try to Survive with a Survival Paracord Grenade. It isnt much but soms stuff is usefull. Love your channel!
........Philips head screw driver and an awl.........great knives , I own the Trekker , Huntsman and 2 German issue types , Grizz
did you had any ticks the next day ?
You should catch and cook your own food bro, that will make you're vids even better and you will also gain much more subscribers 😊
Nice job
Another great video. I like the way you used stones for the shelter. How about you travel with just a poncho. I don't like to see you suffer too much.
Respect man That kind of nature we have in Croatia so are you somewhere in area ? Becouse I watch lots of yours vid - nature is similar Keep up a good job and enjoy - nature belongs to people like us
Hvala Gorane. Inače sam Dalmoš,lunjam od Like do Gorskog kako kad. Sutra je Dinara na redu :)

Can you show how to make a shelter in somewhere that has snow for next or future videos?
Nice knife to have may take awhile but does the job well......I done a weekend with just an ax cleaned fish with it even ..... Mark.....
