- Our Lorikeet Fruti is just taking her routine bath before going to bed. A while later I tried to shoot a similar footage with my wife. I’ll be fine, the five-finger bruise on my face will heal soon…
This is the most ridiculous bird bath I've ever seen. Like, how he ROLLS in that tiny bowl. He LOVES it!

We have a very, VERY frightened dog from an animal shelter at home and even that we tried VERY hard, we never knew nor were told much about WHAT happened to our poor "little" (German Shepherd Dog/Kangal-Mix 😜😋😍...!!!) guy, but HE is teaching US the importantest things in life, not the other way round!!!!!!!!!!! If people just WANT to see things and TO HAVE empathy for animals (and for each other, by the way...!!!), this world would be a better place, I'm sure ☝️🤷🏻♀️😍...!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man, that is so sad! I really am sorry for you! Actually some 2 or 3 years ago in the summer mine flew out of her cage in the garden (during the day I keep her in the garden throughout the warm summer months). I just overlooked that one of the side walls of the big cage was not put in place properly. I realized that after a few hours. But I heard her squeaking somewhere in the neighborhood, located her in a neighbor's tree, kept calling her for some 10 minutes and finally she flew off the tree and landed on my shoulder. You can imagine my relief... I hope yours will came back too!
@@mariuszk.4316 I don’t think he will, he was a rescue from outside (we knew he wasn’t wild because 1: he trusted us and sat on our shoulders easily and said things like “hello!” And “what you doing?” , we know he can survive out there and I could see signs of depression when he was out let, he was lonely and tried mating with all his stuff and was walking around the bottom of the cage, pacing, so we paid more attention to him than the other birds (my mistake ) and how he escaped was the lock on his cage door is sort of crappy, there’s a button that unlocks it and it comes undone so easily, my mum didn’t close it properly one morning and he flew away. He’s probably starting a family and I should be happy but my birds are the only thing keeping me stable and losing one has done a lot, but who knows, maybe he’ll visit again! This time we won’t cage him, we’ll say hello , feed him and let him fly off again , we do have a tree the rainbows love to sit in and sometimes nest in, so maybe we’ll see him, lucky you got yours back though.
@@vulturedrawz So sad, I really feel for you... Mine couldn't just fly in the wild for long, I live in Poland and winters here are too harsh for such birds to survive.
I was at a place like a zoo. They have lorikeets in a glass House flying freely. I manage to get one on to my hands which went up my arm to my shoulder 😂😂😂was so funny as was just looking at me weirdly , which was making me laugh so much , you know struggle to breathe. I couldn't help it, was the looks it was giving me. Beautiful birds lorikeets.
They are not afraid of much, so that makes them relatively easy to tame. Especially that at the place you've been to they are used to people.

I don't think so. At least I've never heard of something like this happening. I guess she'd freak out if that happened to her! 😄 And she always shakes the excess water off her like a dog after each dive, so I guess that solves any possible problems.

The lori which i have doesn't make too much noise.
Only a small "chu chu" sound in the morning and evening. 😂.
But each lori birds personality is different. so some may make a lot of noise.
@@isoulxbladei9244 Oh, I'm sure it's a matter of individual personality. Mine - is extremely noisy! 😆It can really get on your nerves all right! But when I tell her to be quiet - she shuts up. At least for a few minutes...😆 I don't really mind that much.

adorable :) Wish mine would go so easy on the splashing though lol Mine seems to have the primary purpose of giving me a bath at the same time! Not to mention drowning the whole cage! (newly rescued, won't come out of her cage yet, so has to have the bath in their not in a more appropriate splash environment)
Oh, mine gives us a bath at the same time too! And drowns half the kitchen! (she takes her baths out of the cage)
@@mariuszk.4316 lol well mine's only getting access to the water when OUTSIDE to prevent a total drenching, but still managing to drench me & other stuff that's not meant to be wet :)
The kitchen & everywhere else is just getting the splashing of the projectile poops either through the cage walls or when out of it (one won't leave the cage, the other one will, but seems to poop without a break when out of the cage lol I'm assuming it's probably a stress thing given the increase in frequency when out, especially if sitting on me it seems!
& do you have 2 accounts with the same name or is the different picture, same name someone else?
@@mariuszk.4316 & I'm just looking at the video again & connecting user name to video, so really? you get drenched from her? she looks so placid with the bath & splashing though & your set up looks so good for it, looks like it's a bowl within a laundry tub type high walled area that can't really get splashed out of.
Well if you get a bath from that lorri bathing, I don't think there's any hope for the rest of us lol!
@@mehere8038 Same here. I don't wanna get her cage drenched either. Projectile poops - ha, good one! Part of the charm of keeping Lorikeets! What I do is take the food out of her cage about 2 hours before I let her out, so she's out of ammunition before flying out! :)
@@mehere8038 The bowl in the video is inside the kitchen sink. But when she's finally done with her bath she jumps up on the kitchen counter and shakes the excess water off her, thus getting things around wet. Plus sometimes, after that, she goes back into the bowl to get a refill of water... Not too bad, but still. And yep, no hope for any of us! :)

Well, I don't think there is an answer - there is no difference in their plumage. Both male and female lorikeets look exactly the same...(the one in the video is female; we only found out when she laid her first egg!)

Witam! Podstawa to "Versele Laga-Orlux karma dla lor i lorys." Ja na przykład dotychczas brałem ze sklepu Labrador w Krakowie na ul. Torfowej. Telefon 609 200 010. Teoretycznie nie jest to sklep internetowy, ale najpierw dzwonię, zamawiam, przedpłacam przelewem, i przychodzi bez problemu. Ale sprawdź innych na internecie, może będą bardziej tani. Ja zawsze biorę 3kg pudełko. Dla jednej lorysy więcej nie, bo jest data przydatności. Na rok mi wystarcza, co któryś dzień urozmaicam owocami, czy kaszką ryżową Nestle. Zależy co ptak lubi, bo moja jest bardzo wybredna! (unikać ziarna, Lorysy to nektarowce).

That's unbelievable! There are two things my lorikeet absolutely cannot resist - the rustling sound of plastic bags and the sound of splashing water. That's why the water in the video trickles from the faucet to make her even more frenzy about diving in!

@@vicolo9499 Doesn't matter. It's not about the heat. It's about water. When she was little she'd take baths in the tub. Then a few years later she would go with me under the shower, but she seems to have grown out of it too. She often changes her play habits.
