My lorakeet I give him love the best food let him out to play he has a beautiful place under the tree on a nice day his bath but he hates me I think he always bites me little shit yet when I cover him up every nine he says I love you poppy good nice and I always forgive him because he makes my heart melt little shit I've had him two years the swearing words when he's in a bad mood are vulgar I just tell him he's an idiot then he is worse then he snaps out after about 15 minutes maybe he is skitso my daughter had one use to play soccer and nice things not him I love him but he's just not friendly
Hi. They can be very noisy and hormonal. Is he a young male? They are called the lunatics of the bird worl for a reason. They are cheeky, unpredicatble and yet very loving. My sooky is 11 years old and i must say. He is getting better with age. You are doing all the right things but they really do have attitude. Give him lots of attention. They love company. People don't realise the plastic is injested when microscope dissolved not harmful to is, but not nice for the bird, not to mention when you turn your tap on the metal is also slightly dissolved in water, and you also are not harmed by it compares to the bird that is.
If you want to get technical, create a vapour or most of specifically rain water, from Glass, not plastic, and watch as you drink with a gulp the lorikeet inhales, but leave a Stone bowl of RAIN water just in case the lokieet wants a gulp. The bird will be less irratic more playful and give you lots of inspiration.
i have a rainbow lorikeet, but he doesnt come to me, as i go closer to his cage he gets scared and starts gettin away from me. how can i let him play with me out of the cage ? Nice Video and nice home too
Fellow Aussie here. Just saved a wild one from getting eaten by a raven about ten minutes ago. He’s in a box in the bathroom right now. I really hope he makes it through the night. The crazy thing is about 150 of his mates followed me home as I rescued him! They now know where I live so I hope it all turns out ok lol
Hi. Oh poor little thing. They're very clever and very aware that he's been hurt. There's nothing to be afraid of. I suggest give him water via a teaspoon or leave water for him to drink. If you have an apple, give it to him in pieces. If you can take him to the rspca or vet, that'll be even better. I how he's okay
I forgot to ask. Has he been hurt and is he able to fly. If he's not hurt let him go. If he's a baby, wait for day time and leave him outside with you so they can call for him

Hello and thank you for your lovely response. Sooky was hand-reared from a Baby, which makes it a whole lot easier to tame. Try and coax your Lorikeet by giving him favourite food, i.e. an apple, or honey THEY LOVE HONESY. Get him to taste a little and then when he/she sees the honey he/she will be putty in your hands. Give that a go, make sure also birdy has a few toys, you interact with the toy too and i am sure this will work for you. Please let me know how you go. Thanks Dot
