    a little tip, if you're trying to hide the sensor, put electrical tape over the red light. I have one of these and a camera in my mudroom and someone tried getting in while I was gone and fiance was home alone. They saw the light and heard the alarm and pulled it off the wall, then ran.

    Great idea for the tent. Do they have a maximum distance that the sensor and alarm can be placed apart? Thanks for the video. Please keep making them. I have learned a great deal from you. So many preppers that I subscribe to are rarely making videos nowadays. Why do you think that is? May God bless you and keep you safe.

    • @biblesnbarbells
      @biblesnbarbells  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They can be placed up to 400 feet apart. Thanks for your support. I am not sure why many Preppers have stopped making videos. They may be taking a break from YT or just want to go off the radar for a while. Could be because of all the government spying on everyone also. That is a big factor. God Bless and Stay Ready.

      I have 1 acre, and put one channel for the back yard 3ea units covering the back yard and Large Shop area, they are on a different channel for the Front yard to be able to tell when someone enters my property, they work Great so far, I also bought 3 more for the Rpod, I will mount them under On the frame, you can't see them at walking height, I may even paint them Black, one Pointed at the batteries/Propane tanks one at the spare tire at the back and one at the door. Harbor Freight had them on sale for $11.99ea coupon also I took one apart and noticed that there is a black plastic piece that narrows the beam I wanted to test with it in and removed to see what the beam width spread is, with, vs without, I want to see if I can get a wider angle, it may shorten the range somewhat.

    We have 8 of these through out our 6.5 acre property all working fine. The one at our driveway entrance is 300 yrds away. I opened them all and have extended the antennas to 10 feet, painted them camo, covered the little red light and controlled the aim with black vinyl electrical tape so it doesn't pick up neighbors driving by. We then extended the receiver antenna 2 feet as well.
    They are perimeter security guards multiplier. Each receiver speaker has be tweaked or other speakers attached to give different tones which tells us what area the alarm is activated. I'm working on a way to activate some kind of signal if I miss the sound that a visual alert will tell me which receiver was activated, like a flag on a specific receiver. When we purchased these at Harbor Freight we made sure the were all different channels. They offer 8 different channels.
    The trick is to add the extensions on the antennas and seal the case so NO water can penetrate. The transmitter battery last about a year then it just stops transmitting. Like I said these make great security guard multipliers...

  • @willyam9735

    I own several of these alarms as well. Currently they often sell for $11.99 on sale! I installed one pointing across the driveway (about 300ft from receiver) attached about 2ft from ground on a 4x4 post that has ac outlet. I have a good size box full of wall transformers so I picked out a couple that matched voltage for both transmitter and receiver (3.5vdc & 9vdc respectively) and used them to supply constant power to both units. Works very good but I need to change the angle on motion detector so small animals don't set it off. Too many false alarms from coyotes, stray dogs, and cats but wild cotton tails are the most active alarm trippers, usually at the crack of dawn!! :-(

    • @legopunk2655
      @legopunk2655 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +TheNewAmericanMedia Yes it can be covered if you are talking about the little red light on the front of the transmitter. AS LONG as you do not cover the sensor area itself you can cover the red light with a small piece of tape. It would be pointless though to cover the red light because it only turns on if the beam is disturbed meaning the intruder will have already set off the alarm before seeing the little red light.

      Mam, what are you trying to say? So when someone have a sensor alarm are you saying we don’t have better things to do. No we have the sensor so we can look who is at the door before they knock. I am a single woman I have 2 of those sensor they work very well. I live in a apartment 1000 square ft on the second floor also my iPad video is on and I can see from my kitchen and if the sensor is on I can look at my iPad and see who is that person near my door it gives me an alarm from 30 ft. enough to get my weapon. There’s really a lot monsters out there a lot of them. I live in a very upscale area called Dominion in San Antonio Texas monster comes here too and rob the people in a nice neighborhood. If you live in an unconventional shed then you better get you a sensor alarm or even a weapon if you live in Texas. I love my sensor alarm. I never open my door unless it’s my own blood.

      I was wondering now if you only have occasional driveway traffic how long you've gotten out of your inside unit and outside unit on one set of batteries I was also wondering is it heat that sets them off or motion I assumed it was Heat since you talked about the Sun the other question I had was I wondered if anyone has tried to make the alarm quieter so that you might be able to use these to alert you to gain movement like if you were in a blind and an animal was going to move behind you good the beeps are awfully loud I was a wondering if there was a way to quiet how loud the chyme is thanks for your time very nice video Simon

      Yours probably only works for 4 months because the battery probably went dead and you didn't change it he says that in the video

    I boiught this yesterday and tried it Line of Sight -- it lost the
    signal at around 100 feet.... 50 feet shy of where i wanted to mount the
    Transmitter..... good thing it was only $17 at Harbor Freight --- now
    waiting on a better on from Amazon....I wont be buying any of these cheap things again...
