I *love* puppies when they're this age. Not quite small, but still not full grown and yet still full of that puppy energy.
I especially love big dogs at this age, they look like a mini version of their adult selves yet still manage to have either feet too big for their bodies or really floppy ears

That’s the problem with most people. People get puppies because they love playing with them at this age but abandon them once they get older, that’s why shelters are so full of older dogs. Don’t be one of these people
🇮🇪 Our tiny president has two Bernese mountain dogs, the size contrast between him and them is adorable. He often greets his guests on the driveway, accompanied by his wife and dogs. The dogs ALWAYS guarantee for a friendly and relaxed welcoming. The press is there too most of the times, so we can enjoy the good fellows too, indirectly. Or he takes his guests for a walk in the garden, the boys are always there too. Greetings from Ireland! ☘️

Bernese mt dogs actually are content with a more laid back lifestyle, although they need the exercise to stay healthy and not put on weight. I would so love to have one, but it’s a shame about their short life expectancy which I couldn’t cope with

There is nothing cuter than a Berner puppy 💕 They grow so fast. When I first got my Berner he was 15 pounds and now he is 125 pounds. He definitely grew into those huge paws!

Speaking from experience as a formerly self identified cat person… Try one (pupper) you’ll like it! And my cat gets along brilliantly with at least one of my doggies (like potato chips, hard to stop at just one) 😜
My neigbour has one of these, her name is Daisy. When I first moved up to Canada, she was one of the first neighbours to greet me. I was mauled to death by kisses, tail thumps and puppy paws. I was very happy!

My favourite breed is mountain dogs. Their thick coat of fur, piercing gaze and loud voice stands out and that's what makes them *beautiful* 💕✨
I have a 120lb Bernese. He is the sweetest boy. Hes 7 now but I remember how massive his paws were as a puppy. They definitely will grow into those.
He must have been a bit disturbed by the fact that a floating torso was giving him a shower.

A friend of mine got two Bernese Mt puppies and I got to puppy sit many, many times over 9 years. They were litter mate brothers and so much fun. They grew up in size but stayed like puppies otherwise. One favorite game required me to hide under a blanket on the floor and they had to find me. Eventually all three of us were under the blanket. Their groomer always sent them home in bandanas. I turned them into Russian old ladies by pulling the bandanas up over their ears. I would talk to them in a very bad Russian accent and they loved it. I moved away after 9 years and miss them dearly. They were more fun than my own dogs!!!
I love this breed but have always been put off by their short life expectancy. My last dog died at 15 and three years later I still tear up when something reminds me of him.
I tear up at my old dog Casper still. Lost him like....around a decade ago.
Some pains never hurt but the fact it hurts really does mean it was worth the ache.
sadly most if not all of the newish large breeds have the same short life span. only the truly old ones in this top size category live for more than 10 years as average and have very few health issues like boerboel or kangal. This is one of the reasons that i dont like people "messing" with their lineage especially the boerboel who became more popular those days.

Three years a young dog, three years a good dog, and three years an old dog...all else is a gift from God.”

They are really sweet, with children too. My mother had one, long ago. But they dont make great protectors. The dog of my mother would have welcomed every burglar in the middle of the night.

One of the dogs I walk is this breed. He is the largest dog I take care of so far but he's pretty good on the leash! Sometimes he'll just sit down in someone's yard though and I can't get him to budge lol. He's as tall as my hips and so adorable
