This video is informative.. thank you so much I’ve been struggling to understand how slow motion works on my A7S III now it is easier for me to Thanks again
What if we can't yet afford the highest-end cards, yet? Basically, I am trying to shoot 48fps but have only been able to see the option in DCI 4k and only in S&Q settings, which apparently needs a faster card than I have. But I CAN do 120p in S&Q mode with a different codec, even with 422 10bit, just not DCI 4k. So I won't be able to do 48fps in DCI 4k, but is there another codec / frame rate combo that will get me to 48fps? Or is that just DCI 4K with S&Q? Thanks!
The A7iii’s quality when using S+Q is terrible compared to recording in movie mode and slowing it down in post. I understand with the A7siii, it’s the opposite and you can achieve a higher bit rate by using S+Q. Is this correct? I’ve also heard you can achieve those settings on the A7siii without a CF Express Type A as long as you aren’t using S+Q. Could you confirm? Thanks!
Hey, you might just have the updated firmware already (2.0 or above I believe) as the menu and look on screen changed since then. Not sure if that's what you meant but maybe it is!
If the firmware comment below does not fix it, then you might be set to PAL? which will show you multiples of 25 instead - so 200 fps max, vs 240 for NTSC. 100fps max for 4k, instead of the 120fps shown in this vid. You could reboot it in NTSC mode. Worth checking / trying
You said your SD card was 300mb per sec. What is the write speed because your info is completely wrong. I have a Sony SD 300mb read 299mb write and I can record 120fps 4k 10 bit colour. You don't need them CF type A cards.
Thank you! Great technical video on cards, settings and S&Q!

how are you displaying all your info like at 1:14? I can't seem to figure it out.

For some reason when I switch over to S AND Q and I go to frame rate all I see is 23.98 instead of 24p. Not sure why. Could it be my memory card?
Same with me
thanks man that helped me alot
Thank you for this vid very helpful, as I love slow motion footage 👊🏾
Good video. Well done, buddy

U are right.
Can you record 4K 120fps in APSC Crop Mode?
Can we record the audio as wel doing this slow mo with 120 r 240 fps
Thank you! 🤗
fx3 s&q 48fps mode ?????????
In my sony fx3 is not appearing any of this. Maybe I need update the firmware? what do you think?

Im wondering....is there AFC with 240fps slomo?
Thank-you!
Bro i just bough Sony 128GB SF-G Tough Series UHS-II SDXC 300mb/s
it will have an issue or limitiation??
:( but i want my sound , and s&q doesnt offer this
True. I would do 60p for sound. In most situations where slowmo makes sense though, sound is not useful.
Can you record audio separately (meaning Lav or H4n recorder)?
How can I revert back to normal
So I could get the sound
