- I'm using white granite contact paper on my kitchen countertops! This is a super easy DIY method that is renter friendly and removable (as I learned in my un-making over video). I'm applying this diy contact paper over my dated brown laminate counters because the existing counters are dark and it bothers me that I can't see when they're dirty 🙃. I also just really wanted to brighten my rental kitchen counters and this granite contact paper really does the trick! I love that they're temporary but also if you take care of them, they can last for quite a long time! Also, this time I used a special trick for applying the contact paper that worked perfectly (specifically how to get a crisp rounded line around the sink).

You are inspiring. Not just for the DIY but also just in general. I have ADHD also and it's REALLY HARD sometimes to get things done and finished, but watching you really gives me a boost of motivation every time. Dalia, I'm 70 y/o. What I want to say doesn't fit with this vido. It about all the vido you have made that I have seen. In my 20's (in early 70's) I was diagnosed with dyslexia (ADHD was not talked about at that time), therefore I feel like I understand you. You spoke of not feeling your chronological age. I also have felt and still do feel my feelings don't match chronolical age. I think it keep you young and help when you get old. When I was in teens I knew I wouldn't wouldn't be ready for children until my 30's. My one and only daughter was born when I was 30. Looking back, I wish that I had waited a five or more years befor having her. Stay creative, don't rush life. I enjoy your work. Don't force doing work (if you finacely can). When children come you will be doing things on their time line not yours. Enjoy life where you are NOW! Don't rush life!
We LOVE YOU DALIA!!! I so appreciate the camera angles on each step. So helpful to novices scared like me to do this. Watching you, I feel I could possibly do this! I had already tried to do this to a small bar and wish I used your techniques at that time. But... it still looks good in spite of my novice try and every AM I see it, it makes me smile.

It turned out so great!! I did this to my counters and cabinets (in my bathroom and kitchen) at the beginning of last year and I love it! I got the kind that's made for countertops, and they don't stain, you can use whatever cleaning products you want with no problems. they still look like they did the day that I applied them. I also got 1 big roll and didn't even use most of it. oh, I did use clear caulking around the sinks, just to be on the safe side.

The good thing is that it matches your appliances, so it looks great. I think you need to put some black accents in the kitchen so it matches the black handles and than it would harmonise.

My last apartment had a similar contact paper on a solid surface white counter. It was a nice upgrade for a reasonably priced apartment.

Last year I put "concrete" peel and stick on my counters and I wish I had known about the card trick. I didn't do a great job around the sink, but it looks so much better overall I've learned to ignore it.

I must admit using vinyl scares me a little, with the worry of bubbles and not aligning it perfectly to the one before but you have totally inspired me to give it a go. I literally did my counters and table with this exact contact paper last month. I remember some reviews complaining about the different tones. I only had to order two rolls ( not much counter space) .

I knew I’d love your video (the first I’ve watched of yours) right off the bat because of the comment you made regarding your “ADHD” brain. I knew I’d at least be able to relate but would also probably have a few laughs in the process because of that relatability. At least I know I usually laugh at myself a lot when attempting such projects due to my ADHD- it beats crying. But that’s almost what happened when I attempted placing a marble look contact paper onto my bathroom countertop a few days ago. I allowed it to get the best of me early on because of my inability to maneuver the two sinks (they’re killin’ me!), deemed myself a failure and decided I was in desperate need of quite a few days off while I returned to my diy videos. That’s where you came in. And you absolutely did make me laugh, especially when you did those silly little dances (do all ADHD people do that?) talked about indecision and pondered over whether the color variations were a deal breaker. All things that are very true of myself (“normally”). My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that I’m still no closer in my search of having a step by step approach by which to maneuver those flippin’ sinks, but much more importantly to me you reminded me the importance of patience and having as much fun with the process as is possible with my ADHD brain until I’m able to achieve something very similar to the beautiful results you accomplished with your kitchen. Thank you for sharing such important pieces of the process. So, with a renewed understanding I’ll finally end this so you can get on with your life and I can go make myself a glorious cup of tea!

Like Yarn, Contact Paper has a Serial Number, you should have looked, also here in England a very wide one is made so you can lay it lengthwise on a long surface.

to give a professional finish to it, you can caulk around the sink and backsplash. It also helps to secure the paper for longer.
Would that leave any permanent residue?
