Summary in gist (for only my future ref): NITI Ayog's Composite Water Index in short said that 70% of water we use is contaminated & warns the future depletion of water by 2030. Why doesn't anybody talk about the distribution of the water guzzling crops like sugarcane and rice? North West India produces a significant portion of the rice while Maharashtra produces a significant portion of sugarcane, both drought prone regions. Why don't we instead promote these crops in areas that have sufficient water, like Bengal, Bihar and Western UP?
Nitin Desai sir, all time favourite. Crisps and correct analysis . Wonderful person. Many relevant points from Mr. Kundu regarding government schemes. Mr. Thakkar made a nice point on Mumbai 's potential for rainwater harvesting . Rstv great job👍👍
This was really not expected of a professor from such a prestigious University of the country. How does he teach? Who hired him? He’ll seriously mislead his students.
This is probably the most important issue of our lives which needed more time for discussion... We all need to begin at our homes and use only that much as is necessary.. Nationwide and regional coordinated programme needs to begin.

Overall the conclusion of this conversation is that ....we all together have to take a step on water crisis issue...we can not depend on our govt for everything bcz they are doing work on their own way as Mr.Sanjay Kundu said.... So my point is here that we all should aware for the water crisis which is drastically spread all over the india
The main aspect lies on how far the various schemes and systems find its credibility in the list of success stories. The situation is worse now and it should not be merely confined as a lip's action.
RSTV once again stepping up to informed discourse in the country. Wonderful debate. Although Girish Nikam was a stalwart here, a pat on the back to Frank who has stepped up and is doing a wonderful job on The big picture!

He is one of the best professors of JNU. You don't have any idea about the number of papers which he has published. Pay attention to his points not the way he talks. He has great knowledge and there comes the difference between him and us.
Water is more important than the blood in our body because if there is no water then certainly there is no blood in our body. Do whatever it takes to conserve water. I would even suggest that whatever govt would be formed in 2019 they should form comprehensive water management policy and work on it as their 1'st priority for whole 5 years of their governance. And I would like to thank NITI Aayog for bringing this report out because it will spread awareness and that what is needed. We can not neglect water issues. Crisis is standing at our doorstep.

To overcome this issue according (water pollution and depletion of ground water ) some suggestions are 1. First and most important is the proper awareness regarding water conservation 2. Decentralized the water management system 3. Working on river basins 4. These report will be produced health competition among states for conservation or proper managment of water 5. Strict Regulation by CPCB on Industrial effluent ( proper monitoring of COB, BOD, TSS and Flow also) 6. Forestation , as mentioned in this discussion , Due to River linkage project , deforestation was occurred near bundelkhand area , So point is forest has equally importance for rain and biodiversity. 7. We should consider water as a money , as we put extra money in bank for getting adequate interest , extra water like rain water we should reserve it or conserve it so when we will face water crisis , we can use this reservoir . 8. Just like Electricity bill , why not Govt can regulate how much water consumption is occurred per month at per house , that will introduce to optimal use of water in daily life. As we know " जल ही जीवन है" ( water is life ) but unfortunately today 70% water is polluted in our country . For the grace of mother nature we have full of water resources , only we have to work on proper management of water consumtion in our country to overcome this issue.
Water scarcity is the problem to be faced high in our future...... its an known fact..... infact govt is taking many measures... but the problem is lack of implementations.. several committees should be formed by the both central and state govts. and should be monitored regularly.. so that we can prevent and maintain our ground water level... by just passing orders we can reduce the water scarcity... thus govt is in need to take specific measures.. as a citizen of india we also have responsibilities we should plant trees ... implement rain water harvesting in ourhouses.. and usage of water should be minimized as much as we can.........
Water education-making people aware of the fact... Water is a limited Resource we need to be much precise in using water efficiently #Conserve Water' "better future is ahead of us"
It was very hard to manage 5 members to get valid points from each one of them. It should be avoidable in future. however rs tv got a good anchor bro frank
It is rightly said, India will face water shortage in coming years based upon current situation. But along increasing population density if water management improved we will get great results same like Tokyo city water management where recycling level of water close to 96%. Government have right solution only we have to implement fast and more efficiently. Nice panel discussion at RSTV. With best wishes to all RSTV team 🙂
