You are totally Right ! We put ads because we deliver a Free Apps ! you'r on the road ( and by the way i make apps as well but i work for my self .. i'm still on the begining ) Thank you and Good luck to both of us
Great advice, Eric. Here's a suggestion. Why don't you do "App Reviews"? So you can disect the app on the play store and tell us what's bad and what could've been better etc. That would be AWESOME.
+John Morris That's a good idea, John. Do you have any candidates? It would probably be a few weeks before I get to that one though. I'm travelling next week and need to record a video a bit earlier than Friday.
Some apps I came across recently. Todait - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.autoschedule.proto Quotograph - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stanleyidesis.quotograph Indefinite - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.me.brandlibel.indefinite Music Player - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.musicplayer.mediaplayer iCare Health Monitor - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=comm.cchong.BloodAssistant
Eric have you thought about doing something a little longer? Maybe a podcast or something similar. Seems like the channel is really picking up some traction now :)
+ffffffffffffffffffffffff Thanks. I've thought of doing a podcast. It would be very interesting to interview some other app developers and see what they do. Thanks for noticing that the channel is doing well. :-)
+Yussef bens Actually, yes. And it is all because of the volume. My app is pretty expensive too. When you look at Google Play, many people don't have credit cards setup or don't have wallet accounts. Like, a lot of kids and people who have cheaper older Android phones. So, for them, payment is a big hassle . . . but at least you get some revenue from ads . . . and then the more the better. Although, I'd prefer not having ads at all . . . but as I said, that's the way this "free" market works.
As usual, Gnarley! :) If I may ask, do you have apps built with Corona SDK? If so, how difficult is it to incorporate IAPs within the app? I have already incorporated the ads on it, but I'm stuck at having IAP, for instance, the "No-Ads" button. Thanks!
It's actually not that bad. You need to write to local storage (I usually convert a Lua table to a JSON file with my app config) and set a "isPro" variable to true when a purchase takes place. Then, have a check around your ads to make sure isPro is false before displaying. My only problem with IAPs is that when the Google or app make changes to them, I have to recompile all my apps :-)

is your free app that generates your most revenue or the paid app ?
