Narayan Murthy needs to understand that no one gives a f about him working 80-90-100 hours a week. It's his company, ofc he's going to put his sweat and blood into it. He literally owns it. But what does he pay his employees? PEANUTS. Raise people's salaries, stop treating them like machines. You're a joke, Narayana Murthy. Idk how you sleep at night with thoughts like these. This is almost close to slave labour and getting away with it by paying nothing.

We work 12-13 hours a day, and on top of that, we have to spend 3 hours travelling each day. It's hard to endure. We pay high taxes and don't receive much from the government because of unnecessary handouts. The government does nothing for IT workers but is always ready to take advantage of them. It's a shame that Congress does whatever they want to maintain their handouts. If companies want to increase work hours, they should also properly increase salaries accordingly, but does the government care about that? Would the government care about IT professionals if they were laid off after working for 10-15 years for a company? Let the state government implement a 14-hour workday in their offices and see the outcome.

The push by IT companies for 14 hr work-week maybe for a different reason alltogether. Currently 40 hrs is considered full-time. Any employee working beyond that can technically ask for Overtime which is usually higher than normal pay. By increasing the work week to 70 hrs, companies can get away without paying any Overtime. Secondly, if 70-hr workweek gets approved (Which I don't think it will), employees working 40 hrs maybe considered part-time and the companies can do away with all employee benefits.

Do government provide any free medicals, free transportation, any pension or any kind of maintenance in case of layoffs to IT employees(tax payers) and their family? They collect huge taxes from us without providing any benefits in return. Heights of injustices.
