RE2 has legit been my favorite game of all time for as long as i can remember, of course there is amazing games out there but they arn't RE2. Pumped for RE2make. Awesome stuff guys :)
In Memory of Paul Haddad
As you may have heard, the world has lost an incredible talent, a kind and generous human being and above all else, a great friend, Paul Haddad.
Paul was known for his role as the original Leon Kennedy in the 1998 Resident Evil 2. A role that to this day was loved by many fans round the world.
Paul was the kind of guy that always seemed happy & optimistic even when things were tough for him. We remember him taking the time to join us at the ROE to watch Ali play RE2 and discuss his time with the game.
It’s not fair that such a good and kind soul has been taken but the best we can do to keep Paul’s memory alive is support the work he was in, continue talking about him, take examples from him on how to be an amazing human, work hard to apply that to every day life, be kind and make others laugh.
He was the original Leon, an amazing human being and above all else, a great friend. He will be dearly missed.

2 years ago today my brother Paul passed away. I miss him so much. Thank you to all his fans and friends, your outpouring of love for Paul has been so helpful for our family. I'm so sorry for your loss. But like you've said and hopefully seen yourself. Your brother will always be the voice of a generation. I'm from 1997 and even though it was kinda before my time it's still embedded in my childhood.
Your brother was very talented playing Leon S Kennedy. My first experience with the Resident Evil series was Resident Evil 2. I was a teenager back then when I first played Resident Evil 2. Your brother is part of my childhood in this way and Resident Evil 2 for the original Playstation is still my first favourite game in the series to this day, just for the nostalgia alone, without even mentioning how awesome and iconic this game really is. I am 40 years old now, I don't play video games like I used to. But, I still revisit the occasional retro stuff. I used to rent Resident Evil 2 for the original playstation. I even remember renting the console itself and my main two go to games of that time were Resident Evil 2 and Final Fantasy 7. I have the Nintendo 64 version right now and unfortunately never owned the original Playstation version. Your brother was awesome, may he rest in paradise. 👍

When I showed her the message you wrote for her son, she got very emotional. It makes her so happy that Paul touched so many lives around the world. His fans all seem to be the most wonderful people. The outpouring of love for Paul when he passed was of great comfort to our family. Sending you all our love. Especially when you lose someone at a relatively young age. My dad passed away 8 years ago I was 31 and he was 57. Like you and your mom, I know the pain is hard. But, focus on the good memories you have of your brother and know that your brother was part of our memories, the fans of Resident Evil 2. Also, Happy Belated Birthday to your mom. 🙂

RIP Paul. There wouldn't be a Leon S. Kennedy without him as he gave virtual birth to the character. From rookie cop and boy scout to super agent and RE legend. With just his voice, he gave millions joy (or should I say fear?) with his interpretation of the character. We often take for granted just how a character literally just 'sounds' like that determines the overall feeling and success of scenes.
He said it to all of us so I think we should all say it to him - God bless you Paul. We loved you then, we love you now and we'll love you forever.

He and Alyson Court were the first voice-actors that I ever cared to learn the names of.
Scott Alyson is the only voice actress I care about. Well her and Jennifer Hale. If their name appears somewhere I'll be interested.
That was surreal finding out Alyson Court was Clair. When I was a child, I used to watch her on the Big Comfy Couch. I didn't even know it was her until after I got into Resident Evil.
Alyson Court became the only actress name I can honestly remember at all. The original voice actress of Claire Redfield for all eternity!
I'm a huge fan of Scott McNeil (Beast Wars, Gundam Wing) and Brian Drummond (Original Ocean Vegeta, Gundam Wing), but yea Alyson and Jennifer are probably the only voice actresses I praise. So good!

Honestly, 18:18 is the most unreal thing I've ever witnessed. Hats off to Paul Haddad, even after all he has gone through and is currently going through, still being able to recreate that iconic voice is a very amazing thing.

This is incredible, the man himself experiencing this for the first time. Paul was just a young guy looking for a gig. He didn't know he would be part of something so significant in horror and video games. Voicing one of the most iconic characters ever. Like others who take part in horror projects when they were young just for work, he got an unexpected surprise when years and years later fans still throw him all their love and appreciation. Today people line up at conventions for a chance to meet people like him.
It's just funny how something they thought nothing of or were embarrassed about from their past ends up being a big if not the biggest part of their legacy. Gotta love horror community. It's the best fanbase ever.

I'm honestly so heartbroken. Paul seemed such a sweet-hearted guy, and reading his FB post, he was suffering, and after having battled cancer and regaining his ability to speak, it was still bad for him, physically, mentally and financially. I haven't been able to get him off mind all day. If I had known what he was going through, I would've reached out to him because I too suffer OCD and know of the hardships it brings to the workplace and relationships. I would've helped him with cash and not wanted it back. God bless, and God rest his beautiful soul.

So many people all around the world have their own experiences in regards to the first time they played RE2 while subconsciously becoming a part of the characters and the world. It's a very special that we all share and being able to hear Paul regale us with his memories of voicing Leon and also even revoiceing certain classic lines that echo throughout time to this day ☺. P. S it's really nice to hear how much Paul appreciates his fans. You can really feel how much it means to him and that's a beautiful feeling ☺ 🙏. From all your fans we thank you Paul.

Paul was a man who truly faced and overcame a great deal of adversity in his life. He never received a fraction of the recognition that he deserved.
You can hear the sincerity in his voice here, and how much he loves the fans. A man who loved others like this knows what it's like to need that love.
From extreme OCD to throat cancer, despite it all, Paul shined through as wonderful human being, and an amazing actor.

When I first played RE2 my dad was fighting cancer and he used to watch me play, we both shared a passion for guns so he always used to ask me if I found a new weapon or an upgrade, he loved the game as much as I did, so Paul´s voice acting always reminds me of him, and I am so grateful for that.. even now, ten years later I Play RE2 just for the memories.. you are truly gone when you are forgotten. Rest in peace Paul.

My favourite Leon line.
His story was incredible to listen to. I was being checked for Thyroid cancer around Christmas, as I have a large multi-nodular goiter across my throat, and to hear what he went through with Throat cancer was so scary! So glad he came through ok and it is so nice to see how lovely he is with all the fans. What a guy!
I just wish Capcom had helped him, he gave voice to one of their most iconic characters and it would be nice if they have helped him through the rough times.

I can't help but admire this man, and listening to him experiencing the game for the first time, and admiring just as much as I do, it's everything so surreal! Especially the "Hey, it's up to us to take out Umbrella" bit, I love it! Also, listening to him talk so nicely about other heroes of mine, such as Michael J. Fox or Paul McCartney was absolutely amazing. You gotta love Paul Haddad and ROE.
