Bad thing is the quick shifter only support upshift, so I keep the stock one
Dumb question here.. but can you still use the clutch lever/gear shifter the ‘regular’ way with the quick shifter active?
Yes. I sadly crashed this bike but most of the time I shifted normally. I found the quickshifter unreliable and didnt like it to be honest. Even with a QS it is important to shift from 1st to 2nd with the clutch or it can be clunky and you could hit neutral.

How do you enable QS on my 2023 R7 been trying for days
Do you have a quickshifter installed? I think you put the bike in 2nd gear (when it is off) - hold the shift lever up (a bit higher than normal but nothing extreme) and turn the bike on while holding it there. After a little while it should enable
can you use auto blipper as well as quick shifter together on these ? very interested in buying one soon! thanks.
Hey, sorry for the slow response. My quick shifter was only up and not down, I didn’t get chance to look into an auto blipper and unfortunately crashed the bike

@@OB-ul8cm I have the MT07 still so I don’t think I’ll be getting the R7 again, even though I much prefer it. My plan is to get a Ducati Panigale V4 as soon as I pass my full license !

@@OB-ul8cm yeah they are very pricey, I am probably stupid for wanting to spend that on a bike, especially after crashing the r7 within a month or two of having it, but I have always dreamed of having a Ducati sports bike and the v4 is one of their best!
I plan to do quite a few bits to it and do some forged carbon parts as well. I will probably make a series out of it, but I still have a little while until I can get my full license so I am just patiently waiting for the time being.
If I can’t find a suitable V4 I will end up with an R1 or an S1000RR, but the goal is to get the v4!
how do you feel about R7 and MT07? It's really hard to choose one
I much prefer the R7. It is so much better I think. Looks much nicer, performs nicer, engine is better (titanium parts).
I crashed my r7 sadly and it is destroyed. I will claim on my insurance then sell my MT07 and buy R7 again.
R7 is my favourite ! It’s beautiful!

I don't know what was the idea making this motorcycle,but R6 is much much better and proper supersport. R7 have only one benefit- design.
In countries like UK and AUS it is very beneficial because of our licensing.
Until you are 24 or have been riding a motorcycle for 2 years, you have a restricted license.
R6 is too powerful for this license, but r7 can be restricted to suit this license and then derestricted when you are old enough.
Additionally, R6 was discontinued because of emissions regulations which would have made the bike not so good. Sales for Yamaha R6 were also doing pretty bad.
I think the R7 has a lot of purpose and a great bike for the streets. I would much prefer a Panigale or R1m, but i am not old enough yet haha.

A lot of people buying sportbikes for them speed,agility,stability and specialy riding in a high speed. Those bikes are build for riding in a high speeds. And I dont think brakes and frame on a R7 is good for high speed " supersport" type of riding. I'm owner of mt09 tracer,which has brakes from r6 and good quality frame. But !!! R6 is much better in corners,faster,suspension is better! And why? Because it is a proper supersport,it's build for riding in a high speed and responsable and safe cornering.I am litle bit disappointed from R7. On this bike yamaha saved money on brakes,frame,electronics.
And I think if you compare R7 with mt07 on a track,would be the same result. Maybe the top speed will be better on R7 because of the fairing.

@@marioziak9395 Sure, that is exactly the point. The R7 is meant to be sold and ridden. It is a commercial product.
You can still ride the r7 fast and take it on twisty roads etc. The handling and breaks are all very good. It is also not hard to upgrade the brake pads etc, but you wouldnt need to if you are riding on the road.
Sure, the r7 is not a supersport, it is a sport bike, but it is not meant to be a supersport with a cp2 engine.
CP2 engine power is very accessible, and makes 20 more horsepower than the r6 at 5000 RPM. So in low revs and street riding the r7 is better. But sure, as soon as you go on the highway the r6 will fly by since it has such a high rev range and creates a ton of power at the top.
R7 0-60mph is 3.27 seconds, basically the same as the R6.
Unless you are riding on a track, or going extremely fast on the highway, the r7 is a very good bike.
I think the r7 is very good for what it is made for. It is commercial, affordable, ridable and controllable.
You can corner very well on the r7 if you are a good rider, and the r7 doesnt need crazy electronics either because it is not necessary to have wheelie control and 5 different sport modes on a bike like this. It works as it is from stock and does what it is meant to do.
Also, in comparison to MT07, it is faster top speed and acceleration. It has better tune on it from factory, better weight distribution, better aerodynamics, better suspension, better throttle response and probably better brakes as well. R7 would beat an mt07 on track I believe, albeit not by much because it is the same engine, but from someone that owns both, the r7 is definitely for racing.
