- Fallout 4 Companions React to Joining the Minutemen. They react to Preston telling you that you're a good leader, and when you accept or decline his offer to join the Minutemen.

Should have been three sets of dialogue for each companion for when you have a bad, good or Average relationship with your companions.
I mean, Piper just witnessed me teasing a Homeless guy begging for Nuka Cola and selling a Ghoul kid to slavers but hey. Apparently Id do well as the leader of the minutemen.

STEP 5 ENjoy your freedom of not having to do settlement missions

The way Preston just about jizammed in his pants and was all like "Good, *GOOD* ", it was like he was finally able to get someone else to watch Samara's videotape within the 7 day span.
That part where Danse said that refusing is a wise decision, He is absolutely right. Because if you accept, Then you will be forced to work with the settlements. FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

A settlement needs your help
"Alright preston come into my office lets have a chit chat you and me. I know you're more experienced with the Minutemen and what not But I'm a Veteran of the Pre war American Army. An army so strong the enemy LITERALLY choose the end the world rather than fight us. So I think I'm the one with a thing or two of knowledge here.
First question, why am I a general fighting in combat? Like you're LITERALLY based on the American revolutionaries, so I ask when the hell did Washington go to combat? Yes he did sparingly but no generally he sent his men out to fight so he could look at the big picture and not worry about Dodging bullets, because generals fighting in the field is horrible planning. I excused it when it was just us and I was new, but with roney and her trainies I feel I shouldn't worry about small settlements.
Second question: why is a Lieutenant like you giving me the general orders? Again I excused it when it was just the 2 of us. But we were rebuilding our army now, we need to get this chain of comand up.
Third question: what is the Minnutemen's real goal? The original minutemen where making America against oppression. Are we rebuilding america? Are we making something new? A new america thats not the united States?

i mean there is a reason why preston lost like 99% of his men..... the minutemen are dumb as rocks (maybe even worse), they want to help yes quite noble but damn...
- they send their leaders to death, after that it is back to a few settlements that will probably die
- 99% of them dont even do what they were meant to do, helping out settlements.... you the general have to help every single attack to every single settlement (the 1% is when you actually have a flare)
Actually General Washington fought on the front lines all the time. He lead his army. But Preston gives you the name "general" but acts like your Superior officer.

Funny enough I finished the game minuteman style and I was working on Danse affinity and apparently he likes it if you do settlements craft weapons mods and enter power armor but I chose to do settlements because it gives caps and xp so yeah but both preston and radio freedom doesnt give me settlement missions anymore
I think I broke them
I already helped 21 of my settlements

Wake up in morning what I get diffent settlement was under attack and had so many people from all them cheering that was out of beds everywhere then had crash from thunderstorm oh well fun while it lasted

I don't understand why they dislike it. From a lore pov it makes no sense for the ss to lead them: 200 years passed and their last memory is of a dude exectuting their partner, kidnapping their son and mocking them. If some companions dislike it so much, they should do it themselves
The Funny thing is, I never got asked to help out a settlement once in my Minutemen play through, no mods or anything just the default game. take that how you will.

Honestly, this kind of thing is one of the reasons I can't help but like Danse. He's deluded, sure, but he's got a good heart. Still doesn't stop me going for the Railroad ending and killing him, needs of the many and all that.

when you refuse to join the minutemen, Hancock literally says it how it is. being in charge of the Minutemen is a lot of running around after others. that's all you do for this faction. your not a General, more like a errand boy/girl
So you go to a settlement with Preston Garvey and they show him respect and call you a Scavver..........or they just walk away when you try to talk to them......You the player are no General you are an errand boy........
Cait is my favorite companion in Fallout 4 and once you play it a few times you find that her attitude is very justified with these fools. Settlers cannot even plant one corn plant unless you hold their hand.........it is absolutely ridiculous.
That guy Abraham Finch is worried about only his sword, and not his son, when you sit down in the chair on his little porch to change time to night, he gets in your face and tells you to get your Arse on over to the Forged.........anyone need a vacant settlement?? I will sell it cheap. Grin!! Ten Pines or whatever it is called is vacant also, settler runs out and points a gun at me........should not point guns at the sole survivor.
This play through ole Preston will stay stranded in Concord and let us hope that Deathclaw eats him and the other misfits.
As for the Railroad......well they should not hit me with a blinding light and point guns at me.....no no......the instant reaction is to shoot first and ask questions later.........Grin!!
Long live the Commonwealth and the BOS. We will even put Virgil in a Hazmat suit and bring him home and make him develop a cure for FEV and then introduce it into the waters of the Commonwealth and be rid of Super Mutants.........

Download sim conqueror's mod, it let's you be a raider, AND you get to kill Garvey right there in Concord if you want.
The minuteMAN is not a faction. A faction constitutes more than one person. Not the appearance of a group that does absolutely nothing for the commonwealth
Yeah, it would have been nice if Bethesda had at least included a few random encounters of minutemen helping out settlements without you, but it is what it is.
In terms of lore, I still think the Minutemen are the best faction for the Commonwealth in the long-run, but that's just my humble opinion.
Same thing can be said about the other factions. You basically are one man army doing what they are supposed to do.

@@emeraldkoala2 if they were the best faction for the commonwealth they wouldn't have all abandoned their post and allowed Quincy to be taken over by the gunners. They are only the best faction if they actually become a military and not a glorified bunch of revolutionary LARPers who destroyed the laser rifle to make a worse, less effective weapon. I truly don't understand how they were ever able to defend themselves let alone anyone else with those. Everyone else has automatic weapons and you have a stick that takes 3 minutes to wind up. It's ridiculous
Characters have far more positive responses in the MC joining the Minutemen than the other factions.
