- Managed to get the my Twin Turbo 4.6 Rover V8 powered P38 Range Rover to Santa Pod for some 1/4 mile drag racing fun. It a far shout from being fast on the track but equally it was not the slowest vehicle there.

Not bad for a big old p38. I’ve got a Dakar 4x4 with a 5.7 chevy and twin turbo, 10 psi boost. Car weighs 1850 kilos, runs 35” mud tyres and manages a 13.91 1/4 and 0-60 of 5.35s on a normal road measured with a draggy. Main problem on launch is front nearside spinning if you give it too much

Great video 👍 nice to see someone else drag racing a rover, iv took my td5 down the drag strip a few times and loved it, got another drag race on the 18th February at spitfire drag strip in cornwall, I'm currently in the 16s but hopefully get in the 15s next time with some recent changes iv done, keep up the videos mate good work.

I used to love it, looks like you do to. my best in a 2 door Range Rover with a 5.7 Chevy 30 years ago was min 15s through a 4 speed tractor bx

😁😁440 HP ? Is that what I heard ? I would say damn good !! I reckon with lower profile tyres and a faster gearbox shift you could beat quiet a few cars... And yes our good ole P38 shakes like hellwhen you get over 170-180 kmh (110 mph?) Real quick and really good fun, especially comparing with the 'flat' cars ....😂🤣👍
No no where near 440hp. Dyno run and graph in this video here although I suspect the torque figures would be higher on a engine dyno or through a manual gearbox

GREAT RUN. NEED TO KNOW HOW I CAN UPGRADE MINE TO GET MORE TORQUE AND BHP WITH DECREASED FUEL CONSUMPTION
You only decrease the fuel consumption by making the engine efficient and driving it that way as well. The journeys you do can have a larger factor on that too. But an efficient engine can also have more torque and bhp. The efficiency of my twin turbo engine is just the same as before the conversion if driven economically (i.e just sensibly)
