- Special Interest tours and Trains Magazine sponsored a two week rail journey to Peru in September 2017. This covers the second day of that excursion. This was the most exciting day from a railroading engineering perspective...shelves with sheer drops, bridges, tunnels, switchbacks; any way to get trains from the station at San Bartolome at 4964' to Galera at 15,681'
Hatsoff to the engineers and entire workers who laid this railway.
Oh my God, I always wonder how this Railway line was built. How people live at these heights. ? Oxygen in Air is so low. It can cause difficulty in breathing or life threatening medical problems. Hats off to these people 👏
