    UPDATE **PLEASE READ**: the crochet land app is sadly no longer available on the App Store at least for Apple and I believe it’s no longer available in general. I’m working on finding a new way to track your crochet time and price your items, when I’ve found a good way that works I will mention it in an updated video and update this comment to include the link for that video! Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding! :)
    Here's the new updated video: th-cam.com/video/Gx0fVtr1mHc/w-d-xo.html

    I don't take orders from anyone. I just crochet what I like, then put it on the internet. That way, I won't get overwhelmed with orders, or bored with Crocheting. I want to keep it as a hobby, while still making extra income.

    Thank you Katie for the information. I have picked up my crochet a lot since Nov. ‘22, taking my basic skills I have learn from my sister when I was 15. I challenged my self to make things I never thought I could do and surprisingly I made everyone a Christmas ‘22 gift and I was so happy. I have since made my niece a shower gift of a baby blanket with an appliqué puppy and a soccer ball with matching har. I am working on a crochet tote with leather handles right now and pretty proud of it. I am worried about loosing my crojoe if I start my business “North East Crafts and Crochet”. Also having enough inventory to start. I hope you add onto this video, I am so interested in more information you have. Thanks for what you have shared~Cindy ❤

    I had that with my sister-in-law she wanted me to make her a knitted socks one time and I was honest with her and said I can knit either scarves but sucks is a little complicated for me and she asked if I could crochet one and I said I can actually find a easy sock crochet video and I can be able to do that but I told my sister-in-law that I couldn't do the knitted sock pattern that she wanted me to do because that was a expert experience knitting process that I don't like the expert crocheting I like the beginner crocheting and the crocheting advanced crocheting not the expert crocheting she actually was okay with that and said okay well just do a advanced or beginner sock pattern that you're familiar with and just make it in the colors that I want I was very happy with that because that's exactly what I did and she fell in love with them when I gave them to her as a Christmas gift that the next time I seen her she was actually had them on her bed and when I asked her if she liked them because I seen they were on her bed she said yeah she wore them the other night and had just took in them out of the wash to air dry and had them laying on her bed

    Hi! This helped so much, but I was Just wondering how much you sell your items for, I feel like that would help me a lot :)

    • @katiebeingcreative
      @katiebeingcreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m so glad this was helpful!! My mushroom squishmallows are the main thing I’ve been selling and each one of those I sell for $40. They take me about an hour and a half to 2 hours for each one so that plus the yarns, stuffing, etc. equals about $40. The only way I was able to figure that out is through the app though because I’m not that great at math lol! For other items I just use the app especially if it’s my first time making it since I’m never exactly sure how long something will take to make. I hope that helped! :)

      @@katiebeingcreative omg thank you so much because I make bees and like any animal my friends want and I’ve just been charging 20 for everything even tho they take me around 3 hours and like 5 dollars worth of supplies.. it’s annoying because people still question 20 😭😭 well I guess I learned I need to change my prices 🤣🤣

    • @katiebeingcreative
      @katiebeingcreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh my goodness yes, $20 is not enough even if it is for friends! If it’s 3 hours that should at least about $30-40. And I’m sure you’ll be surprised that people are normally happy to pay whatever you ask especially if you tell them how long something takes you to make :)

    • @katiebeingcreative
      @katiebeingcreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! So hopefully I can explain this to where it makes sense! On the app there’s a symbol with three lines in the top left, if you click there it has a few options you wanna click where it says “my profile” and that’s where you can change your hourly rate, currency, etc. hope this helps!

    do you have any alternatives for etsy? i heard it's not really worth it anymore because of the high fees and not showing items when people search for it

    • @katiebeingcreative
      @katiebeingcreative  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of people say that but it honestly just depends on how much you sell and you’ll still have fees on most platforms. If you’re wanting to sell crochet patterns Ribblr is probably a good one to check out as they only charge when you make a sale. But as far as physical items Etsy is the only one I have experience with, I know some people use Shopify but I think you have to set up the website yourself and pay more upfront fees and for Etsy you pay fees as you list items and monthly. Again I’m not sure on what the fees would be like for other platforms but I hope this helps :)

    I’m not sure if you’ll see this atp, but I wanted to know if there were any alternatives to Crochet land. I tried looking for it on the App Store, and it says that it’s not available in the US, with the not available in your country pop up message.

    • @katiebeingcreative
      @katiebeingcreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no, I’m sorry I didn’t know it wasn’t available in other countries! I also just tried looking it up and it doesn’t even come up on the App Store at all for me anymore, so maybe it isn’t available at all now I’m not sure. I’m not sure of any other alternatives apps that would be similar but you could always track your time on a stop watch app and maybe keep track of other information in your notes app. Unfortunately you would have to do the math but it would just be your hourly wage times the amount of time you spent on an item plus the material costs. I hope this helps! :)

    • @katiebeingcreative
      @katiebeingcreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve heard flea markets aren’t the best for selling your handmade items because people at flea markets normally want things for cheap. If you can find craft fairs, pop up markets, or farmers markets those are normally better but you could alway try it out if you wanted

    • @shadowcrest546
      @shadowcrest546 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyday it's open except Sundays it's half a farmers market. I'm just not sure I'll be able to go anywhere else. I'm hoping the fact that the plushies will be lgbt flags that it will gather some attention
