Quick and not get dirty test, if your A/C works. Start car, turn A/C on low and both fans should turn on low speed. Turn A/C on high and now both fans should run high speed. If you own an MK4 VW, do this as soon as it starts getting warmer to check fans. The MK4 have a lot of fan problems and check each year.
Where is the Relay for the fans? I've got a 06' mark 5 1.9tdi. AC Not working at all. Thanks for sharing. Just replaced the AC control valve in my 2006 Jetta, charged up the freon; Nothing, same crap. Do I need to bypass the high pressure switch? Had to on a friend's car to get it to start working. How do I bypass the high pressure switch? Inspected connector at high press switch, looks fine. Any idea/s much appreciated. - thanks
Sometimes u have to b/c the computer knows the freon & possibly pag Oil is Low, so it won't allow the compressor to run to prevent damaging the compressor. Its an easy way to test the high pressure switch is bad before u go buy 1. Yeah right man, what planet has shops w/ good deals? Not earth, "STEALerships" brah.
I can agree with that 😂 I guess if the fans dont work is a way for for you to eliminate it being bad fans and wasting your money. So their is some purpose to the video

John Fountaine how do you put your a/c on high or low when you have mk4 with climatronic?
0:48 The fan connectors cannot be reconnected incorrectly. One fan has a male end, the other a female end. That's how it is on my MK4 Jetta TDI
On the beetle I've connected them in the wrong place and fans wouldn't turn on = over heating . Not sure if it's true.just my experience with it
you-re correct, I replaced both my fans today
U think but you know it will seems like something a person would remember
Good job buddy saved me the time

Why would you bypass the switch? Its there for a reason. Its probably cheaper to pay a shop to diagnoseand fix it
