    It seems beer develops Super 8 Film in the same way it has developed me. Scratched, agitated and with half of me still stuck in the box (errr)

    i think if it was done in proper film tank like LOMO or something, resoults would be much better. the scratches comes from having the film in hand. When i was experimenting with caffenool and with overexposed film i had i've noticed that is very easly to get rid of film emulsion.

      Yeah to tell you the truth I'm amazed light sensors on cameras like the AE-1 and such work so well after so long, as it's a light sensitive material that's always really "on" but on 8mm cameras (what I have experience with, sadly not with super 8), it's a must to hand meter since the light sensor is so cooked and they're pretty early designs.

  • @de4edag
    @de4edag 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it correct that by following these steps the film comes out as a negative? And if I wanted to be possitive (so I can project the image on a wall) I need to do a so called reversal process? Your methode is so lovely simple but if it only gives a negative image on the film I still can not project it. But i'm not sure, so that's why I ask ;) Thanks!

    • @BadFlashes
      @BadFlashes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure. I feel ya. I’m not sure if this method works on Black and White reversal film I’ve never tried it before actually… maybe something to look into. But I’m sure a quick google would know. Sorry I wasn’t much help

    • @donnawander7710
      @donnawander7710 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Based on the scans at the end, I'm pretty sure the beer film does come out negative. If you watch the color of the sprocket holes, you can see that the commercially developed half has white sprocket holes, while the beer processed film has black sprocket holes, indicating it was inverted after scanning.

      If you haven't tried it already, don't be afraid to. The coffee needs to be 'freeze-dried instant coffee' (google is your friend), the Soda Crystals should be Sodium Carbonate (we have the green packs of these in the UK, not sure about US. Use pure vitamin c powder (not crushed tablets) and iodised salt. Use the measurements from fstop138.berrange.com/tags/caffenol/ and it should turn out great. 15:00 is a general starting point but you should reduce as you see fit. Good Luck.
