    You’ve managed to find the only medium more expensive than still film photography. Footage looks fantastic though - I’m definitely Team Sprocket!

      Thanks so much!! I was just talking about how expensive 35mm is in the discord today too lol (it's not an everyday medium, but man a glass of Johnny Walker Blue Label is amazing every once in a while, ya know???)

    You know those vacuum-sealed bags where you can put all your winter clothes, a comforter, and two pillows and it'll all get compressed down to the size of a textbook? Your explainer videos are vacuum-sealed.
    So much amazing knowledge presented in an easy-to-digest way, packed into a video that is somehow less than 30 minutes long.

    I love super 8 because my dad has tons of projectors and the best cameras like the Fujica zc1000 Canon 1014xls Nikon r10, and a ton of preserved film stock like even Ecktachrome 160 sound I love shooting it because I can do lap exposures and double expose and do fade in and fade outs which look amazing on super 8 the only thing that’s made me sad in the past years is the increasing price is film stock

    I want to shoot 50D outside. Should I switch the button so I can see the sun symbol or should I switch the button so I can see the red light bulb? I am confused and I don't want to ruin my first Super 8 film.

    • @b6983832
      @b6983832 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vision3 50D is a daylight film. When shooting it in sunlight, the daylight filter in your camera should be off, showing the light bulb symbol. When Super8 was mainstream, all films were tungsten balanced. For this kind of film, an orange daylight filter is built in most Super8 cameras.

    I recently traded emails with pro8mm. It was hilarious - they want $5 PER GIGABYTE for download delivery. Their address has 5Gbe upload speed fiber for $180/month. That works out to like $6,000,000 per month at their billing rate, lol.

    • @SweetLouPhotography
      @SweetLouPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never used their online thing, I've only sent them flash drives for my media. That is WILD.

    • @jw48335
      @jw48335 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SweetLouPhotography I had some negatives get lost a while back and ever since then I've been paranoid. These days I prefer digital delivery, far safer in my opinion, especially when considering the costs involved. There really is no excuse in this day and age with cheap high-speed fiber available. They just haven't updated their policy in forever. I even called it out and pointed them to the ISP where they can get 5 gigabit fiber for cheap, 😂

    • @JacobCarlson
      @JacobCarlson 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jw48335 I suspect the cost incurred is related to paying for cloud storage space rather than the cost of the bandwidth used. Still way overpriced but makes much more sense.

    • @jw48335
      @jw48335 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JacobCarlson You can build an 8 x 12 TB Synology array for under $2K for on-premises storage. Cloud storage is dirt cheap now too. If Duane's photo and Nice film lab can give me free downloads for my huge tif file packages, so should Pro8mm. I also asked them about upload directly to my Google drive - it would have not required any storage on their side - the price was STILL going to be $5 a gigabyte. They're just not interested in evolving their processes.

    I've had my camera away for years now because I shot an entire roll only to find that the clutch on the reel drive thing wasn't strong enough, so it didn't spin the reel and the sprocket puller just ripped a hole between two sprocket holes. I exposed the same frame of film the entire time.
    I have no idea where to get something like that fixed.

    • @SweetLouPhotography
      @SweetLouPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noooooooo, sorry to hear that. You might want to reach out to pro8mm and see if they can service it. They refurb old cameras, so maybe they could fix yours? They might charge you an arm and a leg though lol
