I had seen a bunch of youtubers doing this and assumed this was the case, even after some of my own testing, but it's nice to have confirmation and cool to see just how much better 2-0-0 is early game. 11 rounds is quite substantial
While 2-0-3 is strictly worse, it still has a niche in early game because it allows you to set up Marketplaces faster. Later on you can sell them for 0-2-3s.
also worth mentioning that if you're boat farming (or getting x x 4 farm for another reason) 0 2 4 farm is much better than 2 0 4 farm so getting 0 2 3 farms helps transition into teir 4 bottom path farms
To note, if you have enough money to buy a marketplace instantly you have enough money to buy a banana plantation, which makes more money in the long run anyway, so in general, you’re making 2-0-3 marketplaces early game, then selling them late game for BRFs and Banana plantations.
My typical strat for Marketplaces into Central Market is to get 2 200 farms, upgrade one to 202 to sell shortly after to convert the other to a Marketplace, do the prior steps two more times, but on the last cycle make a 023 Marketplace instead of a 203, at which point I save until I can sell both 203s and have enough for Central Market immediately.
The crosspaths for T4 also have a role in what upgrade you should get. Whichever crosspath is better for T4 would make that crosspath get extra points for T3, as you would otherwise have to sell the T3 to get the extra income.
And thats why i useally make my first market a fast 1 and once i got a good money spree going thats when i use the valueable ones and focus on them for even more money late game. Sometimes even selling and replacing the fast ones to get cash back and upgrade the others further.
I always go straight for 0 0 3 banana farm then upgrade it to 2 0 3, and go from there. I always end up with more money than the people I see showing guides and stuff. Getting a marketplace a few rounds earlier snowballs like crazy. If you don't have corvus, he's insane, once you learn to balance his harvest and spells, you can get out of any situation with him alone. He's definitely the best hero for hyper farming early.
I personally cannot stand seeing the marketplaces be off sync so I always just go 203 on all of them because if your struggling enough to the point where you feel like the valuable bananas would make a difference you probably should just be going top path
Extra fact: the 204 without mk is actually better than the 024 but with mk 024 is better. Also the 023 without mk is worse than the 203 without mk (not sure if he mentioned that
You basically said the same thing twice. And what he said. The bottom path farms are always better with the middle path crosspath then the top path crosspath unless you dont have the monkey knowledge.
A very good start to this would be have two 2-0-0 farms then get a 0-2-3 farm and lastly upgrade the last two 2-0-0 farm too 2-0-3. (This is in my opinion)
I never knew a 023 made more than the 203 farm, I always thought that because it made more money with top path that top path would be better unanimously. I've learned too much in this video, I can't be allowed to have this power.
Did you know that the 203 and 023 cost the exact same amount of money to get, but the 203 is good for getting cash to get some more at the start, whilst the 023 is good only when you have enough to buy it immediately since the 203 produces more bananas so you can get that cash. But the 023 still produces more cash, but get a 203 at the start so you can place more 023 banana farms down
2-0-3 is mainly for if you dont have too much cash on you, so you start with the 2-0-0 upgrade first. Because 2-0-0 price is the same as 0-2-0, there wont really need to be checking if one is more expensive. 0-2-3 is only good if you can afford it all before the round starts.
If you plan on building eco quickly here is something i learned from elite boss fight tutorials: go for 2/3 2-0-3 marketplaces after that together with your monkeys you should be abled to buy 0-2-3 farms. If you want even more money output, you can place a favored trades boat aka 0-0-4 for higher re-sell then sell all your farms and build a 4-2-0
Another thing to note: Without the monkey knowledge point, the middle path is actually worse if you ever upgrade to Central Market (or get a Monkey City? not sure). That's because the 25% will round down from the 70 base tick
The best takeaway from this in my opinion is that you should start with some 3-2-0 farms to get your money production accelerated quickly, then switch to building 0-2-3 farms once you can afford to get at least the Marketplace right away. And if you want all Marketplaces, you can sell your earlier farms to get the money and space to make the rest.
The difference is bigger when you get the 4th upgrade on the bottom path. 2-0-3 is better as a first farm and for earlier rounds but the 0-2-3 is better later. 0-2-4 is better than 2-0-4 overall.
