Oh my goodness... What a phenomenal soundtrack my friend! I felt on top of the world listening to it!
This is amazing. The choirs, shorts strings, percussions... So much power, it makes you want to fly!

@@ArdaRen Thank you! How are you enjoying the BBC orchestra? I've been eyeing it for a little while and it looks great.

Andrew LiVecchi it’s good, but it sounds very small so it usually needs layering with another library. I used CS2 here for example to beef up the strings. Percussion, Harp and Celeste are truly amazing and Spitfire’s new extended legato patch is incredibly user friendly, saves enormous amounts of time when sketching. However, they cheaped out on recording enough dynamic layers which makes the Brass sound VERY clunky, it makes it unusable except for the trombone ensemble and maybe the Tuba. I got it on sale, so I’m happy with it, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the full price tag.
Spitfire’s marketing can be a bit too aggressive at times, so I’d recommend watching a third party review where they show all the patches individually.
Here’s one I made fully with BBC, I didn’t layer it there so it might give a better idea: th-cam.com/video/MeBOhqjhOyI/w-d-xo.html

@@ArdaRen I can see what you're saying. In the Burning Fleet piece (great composition btw) the library sounds realistic but more intimate than epic.
I think I was definitely falling prey to the Spitfire marketing haha. Christian Henson is amazingly persuasive and it seemed like a library to end all libraries. But I guess you're unlikely to ever find one that does everything you need it to. I've also had my eye on Spitfire's symphonic orchestra because it seems very versatile but of course also has a price to match that versatility.

I really like the basic ideas in this track. Great work on that.
But I think you could vastly improve your composition by working with more modulation on the instruments and the tempo. It sounds quite static at times. And regarding the overall tone, the mix sounds quite muddy and at 2:37 it - correct me if im wrong - sounds heavily compressed to me. I know some great tutorials on that if you are interested.

Thank you. You’re right about all of it. I’ve been working on these issues for the past couple of months with the exception of modulation. I think my new piece is a bit better in these regards, but I still have a long way to go.
