  • 8Dio Lacrimosa is the next generation of Epic Virtual Choirs. Lacrimosa is the largest choir (200 person) ever sampled.
    In this video we demonstrate the Lacrimosa Multi-Vowels, which is a new articulation system that allows you to write completely realistic fluent sentences for the choir. The Multi-Vowels were recorded at two different speeds (100% tempo-synced) and many at different dynamic levels, so you can go from a whispering choir to full scale epic.
    Lacrimosa was recorded in a pyramid like structure with 70 Basses, 60 Tenors, 40 Altos and 30 Sopranos. This allows the males to be equally powerful to the women - who commonly dominate the mix in epic choral scores. The library contains both mixed and separate patches for male and female sections.
    Lacrimosa contains 3 microphone positions (Mixed, Decca, Far) and wealth of deep-sampled articulations, including layered True Legato, extensive sets of Multi-Vowels (allowing the choir to sing 100% realistic and fast), Staccato, Power-Marcato, Arcs, Sustains and many other elements.

      Jerry X it is an amazing piece. I'm pretty sure it's just Majestica and Lacrimosa. I'm not sure if that anvil is part of Majestica

    The DemoCompositions are above!
    Simply amazing!
    I wish You Troels could compose an intro to my next album!
    That would indeed be the "icing in the cake!
    I'm not easily impressed, but Your demos truly do rock my foundation!!

    Can somebody tell me why all these choir libraries avoid the consonant B???? There's not a single syllable containing it, not just in 8Dio products but in almost none of them!

    is there a keyswitch function or something that you can use to repeat the programmed syllable sequence? Because if you are working on a sequence or something, and you stop it in the middle, you are pretty much screwed, and have to open the kontakt patch and manually reset it otherwise.

    What language is being used for the library? Greek? or at random

    • @8dioproductions
      @8dioproductions  7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Great question. We have recorded choirs many times and one of the key lessons is that the end-listener never thinks/understands about the actual lyrics of the choir. The choir is more of an instrument or color if you will. We designed a specific language around the notion of what sounds best and works best in choral pieces. You will find many elements from latin in particular, but also other made-up words that just sounds amazing and adds new color and power to the library.

    I guess you can only play the same tone for each vowel for multi-vowel patches? Say you trigger the "Eh-So-Noh" multi-vowel holding down C4. All vowels sing C4 right? Like, you can't make each vowel sing different tones, such as Eh (C4)-So (D4)-Noh(E4). But I guess you'll always have the normal patches for that, although it would sound artificial like any other choral library. While pointing this out like other people, I don't take this negatively. Because you still have those multi sample patches with single vowels and also sustains. So comparing it with Symphobia is ridiculous IMO. Because symphobia is mostly made out of combos of different sections prerecorded. Where this library does have pre-recorded vowels, but also has all of the normal sample patches like any other choral library out there. Imagine, QL Storm Drums. You won't criticise that library just because it has loops included in it right? Because it also does have lots of multiple samples included as well. The same goes for this library. This isn't a library where theres only a multi-vowel patch. But I do agree with BiGLiPZiT. The demos on Soundcloud seem to focus on multi-vowels too much. Bill Browns demo used great sounding sustains though. There should be more demos which use the normal patches (non multi-vowel) patches. Sorry for the wall-of-text.

  • @biglipzit
    @biglipzit 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Upon listening to all the demos I find that all uses of the multi-vowels sound the same....just triplets everywhere....Can spot the library anywhere cause of it. Maybe it's the demo selections fault...I dunno. Am I missing something?

    • @8dioproductions
      @8dioproductions  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can make them work as straight notes or triplets. Your choice. But no other choir has ever been able to do triplets, which is why we are demonstrating them too.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      8dioproductions straight notes? what do you mean? aren't you forced to have the 3 word sequence once you trigger it? I am a bit disappointed that there are only 2 two word sequences

    • @8dioproductions
      @8dioproductions  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can create extremely long and elaborated phrases - by combining all the different multi-vowels inside the built-in sequencing system. It allows you to combine up to 64 different multi-vowels in order or you can trigger them from keyswitches. There are both 2 and 3 word strings in there.

    What seems to me gloomy is the fact that the vocal phrases evoke in that language something unknown because it is not Latin and if I think badly they are prayers to some evil entity

    • @HyperNova137
      @HyperNova137 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like I'm not the only one who's seen too many conspiracy videos, lol. But I can reassure myself by stating that sounds are merely dead symbols (even more so with digital reproductions and samples) that serve as a vehicle for a conscious intention; I'm sure there are numerous cases of different languages that attribute different meanings to identical words, but it's pretty well understood that we did not intend to imply the meaning used in the language that we're not speaking at that moment. And in this case, we're actually using syllables rather than complete words, and those syllables are in most ANY language, because there are only so many different vowel and consonant sounds that the human mouth can produce.

    Thanks for sharing the video! God bless you! Please remember the following:
    Therefore, as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so death passed to all men,
    because all have sinned. Romans 5:12
    So, as by the transgression of one (Adam) came condemnation to all men, in the same way by the righteousness of one (Jesus Christ!)
    the justification of life came to all men. Romans 5:18
    For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish, but may have eternal life. John 3:16
    And in no other is there salvation; for there is no other name under heaven, given to men, by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12
    If you acknowledge the Lord Jesus with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
