    Thank you! I'm almost ready to official start formatting my first book in Atticus. I tested it a bit, but I'm still finishing a few things in the word document. One thing I haven't seen is how to import/format tables. In my book I have a 3x9 table with just text. Hope is an easy process within Atticus.

      Atticus doesn't currently handle tables or charts, but if you can turn it into an image instead, you can insert it perfectly into your content that way!

    If my chapters are named Chapter One, Chapter Two, etc and are set up as headings, will they be duplicated in the outline? Like Chapter One Chapter One

      If you type them in as titles, yes, you can repeat them. The automated numbering wouldn't be able to do this though, unless you're working in Volumes - then you can have a Chapter One in each separate volume/book. I hope that helps!

    Is it possible to "reconvert" footnotes to endnotes within Atticus? Or is it footnotes or nothing in Atticus?

    • @AtticusWriter
      @AtticusWriter  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Inside Atticus you can choose End of Book notes or End of Chapter notes. Footnotes on the same page are available for the PDF version only.

    Thanks for the valuable tutorials. Also, I wanted to ask you about some of them that help leverage the final pages for author information and credits. Thanks in advance.

      You mean you'd like a tutorial on what type of pages to add to the back matter? That a great idea!

    Can chapters be uploaded one at a time and combined to make the completed work?

    • @AtticusWriter
      @AtticusWriter  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, absolutely. You'll want to upload the first one as a new book, and then you can click the three dots beside the Add a Chapter button to Import additional chapters.

      All the same rules apply, you'll just need to Download as .docx. I hope that helps!

    If I know my book will be 6x9, should I change the page size to 6x9 in Word before importing to Attitus? Do you have any other tips for margins and line spacing?

    • @AtticusWriter
      @AtticusWriter  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Your Word settings don't matter, Atticus will adjust all of that for you. My best recommendation would be to watch the How to Format and How to Create a Custom Theme tutorials, and that should give you everything you need!

    HI! Thanks for the detailed tutorial. It's very helpful. One question - my book is a manual so it will be printed larger than a regular novel - about 12 X 8 inches in size. Can I format my book pages for this size?

    • @AtticusWriter
      @AtticusWriter  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Currently the largest trim size available is 8.5 x 11, so hopefully that might work for you instead!

    If save my file to PLAIN TEXT, would that delete all the codes, making it easier to upload to Atticus? Then I can just update the file - format such as Heading, Subheading,. etc.

    • @AtticusWriter
      @AtticusWriter  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that would work great!

    I intend to use Atticus to format my novel but I write in Scrivener. I'm sure there are many like me that find the formatting in Scrivener confusing and Atticus seems to be much easier. It would be helpful to have a tutorial to help 🙂

    • @AtticusWriter

      Do you mean a tutorial to help you take your manuscript from Scrivener into Atticus? Or how to write inside Atticus itself? Thanks for the suggestion!

    How do you make text start further up the page? That is the main issue I’m having. All the preset layouts have the chapters starting half way down the page, what if you want it further up?

    • @AtticusWriter
      @AtticusWriter  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      At this time, the layout on most of our templates begins the body text one-third to one-half of the way down the page to adhere to current publishing standards. You can't currently directly adjust the white space between the header and the first line of the body, but the amount of padding in the chapter heading depends on the theme you've chosen. You do have the option of hiding the chapter heading and just using a subheading instead, if that works better for you. Feel free to write into support if you need more guidance on that!

      I'm sorry for the trouble. If the icon in the app itself doesn't work, it's usually due to something on your computer blocking the connection. You can always visit www.atticus.io/support/ on our website. I hope that helps!a

    In other words, format it yourself now that you’ve already paid a bunch of money for this program.

      Atticus is a DIY Formatting program - designed to make the process of getting your book to a professional level as easy as possible, but yes, you still do have to select your formatting preferences.
