How am I just now finding this channel!? Just finished 30 days of yoga with Adriene and have done almost every Boho beautiful workout. So excited to add you in to my go to yoga girls 😄
I’ve been using your yoga videos for weeks and I have fallen so in love with Yin. I made a playlist saving almost all your Yin videos to a playlist so every morning and every evening I can just pick which one sounds like the practice I need! Just wish I had a sauna to do Yin inside of 🥰
Paul Grilley”s DVD “yinyoga” took me out of job related lower back pain in one session that many months of physiotherapy, massage and a few sessions of chiropractics (a modality that does not make sense to me at all but tried at my physios suggestion) could not even temporarily relieve. I cried after my first tentative session with the RELIEF yin gave me. It is my go to practice now whenever I feel less energy or the body is just feeling more restricted than normal. It was an absolute blessing to find as was Sarah Powers, Bernie Clark and Biff Mithoefer. hope Yin doesn’t become bastardized, as so many other forms of Yoga have, now that it is becoming more main stream. Just because one does doesn’t mean they should teach. Thank you for this offering. It’s so rare and so extremely refreshing to find practitioners that practice what they preach. When a persons heart is truly into what they do they create avenues and allowances for those that don’t have money to burnout but have a need to experience. Blessings Heather
Hi Sacred406 - That is great news! As a yin teacher and a manual therapist I am pleased to hear that you took the time to work on your ailments with Yin. With any manual therapy, there is no quick fix. For a patient to take the responsibility and be part of the healing process is perfect. Great to hear. Keep it up!
I just came across your videos this morning, and I wish I would've found them a lot sooner. I've been doing yoga for a while now. Some of the other videos I've been following are good, but I just didn't connect with them. I found one of your morning workouts and absolutely loved it. Yin Yoga is definitely the perfect fit for me. I'll be following your videos from here on out.
To stay really long I Like frog Pose, baby cobra or tree Pose. If frog pose is too hard do childs Pose. And in cobra i Literally did the smallest cobra i could. If ur arms or legs fall asleep stop and do savasana. Love
😂 this is a bit extreme. Cobra or tree pose are not meant to hold for 20 minutes unless you are relaxed somehow. Supporting the chest with pillow or bolster for cobra. Tree pose not at all a yin yoga pose. Hold stretching postures not strengthening poses. The science behind yin yoga is to have no tension so that the body can open up.
@@xxpgwfxx it is kinda extreme. I cant do cobra for more then a minute before my arms fall asleep. Tree pose is easy to hold forever. Now I just do one pose like 9 times a day till one of my four limbs start to tingle and rest really long in savasana and I see a quick progress in my flexibility
I feel my poses are way stronger and stable. I am a little more flexible than I was when I first started practicing yoga 4 years ago with Kassandra. I feel confident in my poses! I love that for me
I am always into hatha yoga and thinking that only active asanas will give me flexibility but so many videos of yours on Yin yoga makes me question wat is Yin yoga . Thank you for giving nice understanding on Yin yoga . Now I have decided to learn Yin yoga bit by bit from your videos . Thank you .
I had a hip replacement a year ago, my sister who teaches Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pilates etc in Australia she suggested that I do Yin Yoga. so I have been practising slowly and I know where I can take my hip to its edge! which is a relief and I love the length of the poses. I've done it about 5times now... I've noticed slight difference and some poses I can't hold for long and others I can. I have also cried twice now. Thanks for clearing this up for me makes me now want to do more... Ka Pai e hoa!
I love yin yoga! It's my favourite type of yoga, since the first time I practiced it, I felt so good, relaxed and calm. My body is changing with it. I'm more flexible now and I know I owe it to yin, I feel different in my mind, too. Yin is a special type of yoga, it's my personal retreat and I'm grateful for the moment I found it. I'm sure you understand all of this and much more. Thank you, Kassandra for your vídeos. I follow your channel a lot and feel a special conection with it because, like me, you practice a lot of yin and that's just perfect! : ) Keep it up and thank you for all the goodness I feel when I practice you classes. Namaste.
Finished reading your book today, been doing your yin videos for a while. The book provides a good compliment to your videos with modifiers and purpose of poses. It also provides some sort of certainty in Yoga that has drawn me to Ashtanga and Bikram in the past. When I see your video titles now I can have an idea of what we are going to be doing.
I love your explanation and introduction on Yin! I have a dance background as well and can relate to trying to push further, but my yoga practice has totally helped me respect my body! Love the number scale! Thank you beautiful!
Hi Kassandra ! I discovered your channel very recently because I was looking for Yin videos, and I really enjoyed this one, very clear and helpful to introduce someone to Yin. I fell in love with Yin Yoga about 3 years ago but it's only recently that I decided to incorporate at least 1 Yin sequence per week in my routine. I always was the kind of person who do super hardcore cardio classes or intense Vinyasa, or nothing !! Because I did not respect my body enough to give him the love and respect he deserved. But Vinyasa taught me to reconnect with my body, now I'm doing a Vinyasa YTT here in Paris but I really want to do a Yin YTT in the future, because it's the most nurturing practice I know. I always feel like Yin is pure and unconditional love to my body, and my mind of course ! Anyway, I'm looking forward to do Yin with your videos :) Thank you for this beautiful channel !
this is just amazing and has inspired me to get into yin yoga. i struggle with flexibility and also with patience. having something like yin yoga motivates me to want to find poses to just stay in for long periods of time, and this is so reassuring too to know that its focused on joints etc for flexibility.
Hi Kassandra, AH NOW I GET IT! Thanks for explaining :-) found your channel last month and have been doing a class every morning! I will look at Yin again I'm loving all your help and instructions. Chris
Just tuned into your channel! Really like your videos and your energy. Immediately bought your book on amazon. As a hatha yoga practicionar with dance background as well I can relate very much to what you are saying in this video about always wanting to push it to far. Yesterday I did my first yin yoga class here on this channel and I must honestly say I felt a big relief. So thank you Kassandra. Keep up to good and inspirational work you are doing and sharing! Very curious about the book!
Thank you ,this was great and explained very well .I have been doing the one video you put out for Yoga for Cyclist ,and have been enjoying it very much . as a competitive cyclist I find it very helpful for riding and racing because I get a very good stretch before riding. If you have any other for cycling please post more have been forwarding to other cycling friends , again thank you for all your helpful videos!
Hi Kassandra, thank you much for this video!!!!! I'd love to hear some more about Yin Yoga, and the other styles as well!!!!!! Hugzzzzzzz Ollie p.s: I LOVE YOUR YIN YOGA CLASSES!
Thank you so much for this principles of yin yoga video! Understanding the basic principles and purpose enables me to perform the poses in a more effective & meaningful way, and one which is more "correct" for me and my body. 👍🏼🙏🏼
Hi Kassandra - nice presentation. I would just like to say that although Sarah Powers is one of the leading figures in Yin Yoga, it was really Paulie Zink who founded it. His teacher was Cho Chat Ling. Namaste.
An excellent explanation. Just found your channel and practiced with your grounding (root chakra) video which was fantastic. Very happy to have found you. Cheers
Thank you for explaining the type of yoga to expect from this type of yoga it certainly helps find out if it's fir one without having to do a session first. Am new to yoga and your channel, i did 2 if your other videos since about 1 1/2 ago or so. I have a bad back and neck thanks to a work abd a car related incidents so I can't do some poses (such as seating in lotus or even with straight legs it really hurts my back same goes for the child's pose, folding forward and let the tirso hanging which are all used a lot) with those limitations would you encourage to continue practicing, and I love it (practicing yoga) I think it's helping me connect with myself and relax. Thanks again 🙏😊
Hi! Quick question- is there room for adjustment to deepen the edge or stretch as the fascia releases? You mentioned stillness and allowing one to let go of the fidgeting and adjustments that we often fall into when doing faster practices.. It seems as there is room for subtle adjustments when one feels their fascia unsticking and releasing- what is the medium and balance between adjusting and stillness? Thanks 😊 - Joe
Some use this to Calm, or strech if u dance, or do harder training i like push myself.. with breath control.. ..some days need Calm my ngy some time just power ..iam not new ...,so kind to myself ... Excperienced...get grounded... 🔥So i do my min...or change faster
Finding your edge requires you to be honest with yourself however certain people want to not be honest with themselves and they end up pushing themselves too hard.
Hi Kassandra I love you yin yoga classes As you mentioned about Iceland retreat That was 3 yrs ago but please let me know if any forthcoming retreats and workshops or yin TTC which I can attend
Thank you so much for explaining the principles of yin yoga. I've been doing yoga for 5 years now and I discovered yin yoga 3 years ago. I still do it every day and it's definitely my favorite type of yoga. I love doing your sequences. 💖 ps. Do you have any recommendations of Yin Yoga teacher training in Asia? 😊
Sorry but what ever you are describing it applies to all style of yoga. I have been practicing and teaching yoga for over 30 years. This is money making scam.

I will look no longer for my Yin Guru, you are wonderful and I feel a connection allready. thankyou Jeff
Thank you Kassandra! I love all of your classes! Sometimes the 60 minute ones are too long for me, I prefer the 20-40. You are a great instructor!
#1 Get a good teacher. Make sure YOU are the good teacher, and that you follow yourself well.
I held 3 yin poses for 20 min each today and it was amazing
20 minutes 😳
Which 3?
To stay really long I Like frog Pose, baby cobra or tree Pose. If frog pose is too hard do childs Pose. And in cobra i Literally did the smallest cobra i could. If ur arms or legs fall asleep stop and do savasana. Love

It is like a personal retreat!! That's a great way to put it :) Thanks so much for practicing with me
So helpful for athletes and dancers. As one myself I find the same history with trying to stretch past my age.
Edge not age

Yes you are completely right! I mention founder Paulie Zink in my Yin Yoga book :)
i love Yin Yoga!! i tried it during a fitness fest , and then i found ur videos on youtube. thank u for ur videos, i love it ❤😃
Thank you very much for this explanation video
amazing, thank you for sharing the video. I did yin yoga but had no idea about its philosophy.
An excellent explanation. Just found your channel and practiced with your grounding (root chakra) video which was fantastic. Very happy to have found you. Cheers

Finding your edge requires you to be honest with yourself however certain people want to not be honest with themselves and they end up pushing themselves too hard.
Never knew this, thanks!
This originally Patanjali Yoga. Please read it second chapter of Yogasutra. Shtiram sukham Asanam and Prayatna saithily Anantasamapati.
Thanks for this!!! Really helpful!!!
I enjoyed this video. Can I ask why we want to apply stress to our joints? I don't understand this part. Thank you!
Yes more videos like this pls!!!
I love yin!
Me too!!
Hi Kassandra, do you have to make the Mula Bandha and Uddiyana Bandha during the practice of yin yoga? Thanks ...
Great question! No, we relax fully.
Can you explain other yoga styles? What are the differences?
You mentioned fascia , ligament and tendon. Fascia is connective tissue and ligament and tendon are connective tissues?
Is it possie to benefit from yin yoga when ur head is full of stress full thoughts? Like should u get that out of ur head before u go to yin yoga?
Hi Kassandra
I love you yin yoga classes
As you mentioned about Iceland retreat
That was 3 yrs ago but please let me know if any forthcoming retreats and workshops or yin TTC which I can attend
THANKYOU XX
Fantastic!
Great speech
Gracias!!! 💚💚☄☄☄
you were a dancer! I KNEW it.
Al Pal a very bad one! haha

Great video - answered all my questions - thank you! ~ Jenn;-)
Thanks Jenn!
I never even done yin yoga however it does seem interesting.
When are you going to host a new retreat?
Kassandra Reindhart? I may have spelled last name wrong sorry. Love you!
Please explain "sink into the pressure so that you can open up." That doesnt make sense to me.
💙💙💙💙💙
حلوه
Great video. But you pronounce the word "asana" wrong... it is AAsana not asAAna
Sorry but what ever you are describing it applies to all style of yoga.
I have been practicing and teaching yoga for over 30 years. This is money making scam.
Well, not everybody has 30 years exp. I've been doing my job for 10 years only. What would you say, is the essence of Yin Yoga?
You mad eme fall in love with Yin 🫶🏼
