They've reworked the dragons to suit the theme of their respective home worlds. Dragons found in levels of Artisans are designed to look like artists whereas the dragons in Magic Crafters are wizards. It's safe to say Peace Keepers will have military dragons. Don't even ask mewhat the dragons will look like in Dream Weavers.
I think they should've kept/recreated that sound and made them actually look like they were bursting out of stone like in the original. That would've been much cooler.
The sound design of modern games has changed since. The explosions and other loud booming sounds are more like "pffft" instead of "BANG". Look at the Crash remake or a new Doom game: all nitros and rocket launcher sounds are quiet and high pitched.
Yes same, but don't epect everything to be as the originals. It's a remake after all and the people at Toys for Bob know what they are doing and they can have a little fun when they are at it, adding small things the original never had.
I feel like the combination of the sound and the dragon counter changing during a brief pause is more satisfying in the original bc it happens after the dragon is already free and can draw more attention to itself, whereas in the new version it feels too cluttered bc it happens while the dragon is being freed and has a more subtle sound effect.
A considerable improvement! The animation has so much personality, the new voice acting is excellent, the accessories are a great touch, and its awesome to have much more variation in their bodies. I especially like the Beast Maker's almost shamanistic overhaul and how the artisans now look like... Artisans.
The only one who shouldn't have expressions is Hunter, because he's a lifeless husk of a cheetah. (Really though, I absolutely love the new animations and voicework!)
I hope that all the "Thank you for releasing me" (or a good part of them) keep saying that line, but spyro gets more tired each time they say it, like a running gag.
I remember reading somewhere that the developers said they were going for each world having their own "race" of dragons, like different themes and cultures :)
The dragons are so much more interesting now. The older dragons were just reused skins/pallets and a bit boring. Now they look cooler and have way more personality. I like it :)
Foranya obviously their possibilities were much more limited back then, but had Insomniac had the technology from today it would have looked way better
Foranya I will always still prefer the originals but yeah I'm loving these new dragons!, it's an improvement, I'll admit that even though I do prefer the original in every single way.
I agree, the originals had very little visual personality for them due to lack of technology and had to focus on what they say and how they say it, but with the remake, they went all out on giving the dragons the look and flavour their voices deserved.
If By original then you must mean skylanders then yes yes they did 😉 I swear to god skylanders makes Spyro look like a car ran over him knocked his teeth out of his mouth and they gave him plastic surgery that failed miserably and replaced his original teeth that he lost with two painted white small square rocks for teeth that they just shoved in his toothless mouth (eeeesh what a failure of a game )😒the older versions of Spyro for the ps1 and the versions for the ps2 and new version for the PS4 in my opinion definitely made skylanders hand over their balls when it comes to good graphics and animation. ( I should know cause I got most of my ps1 games at toys r us back in the glorious days of the 90’s ) 🙂You can always tell a certain game is going to be good in a trailer when the animation is crisp and clean and the graphics are awesome and flawless. You can definitely tell the creators worked hard on this game by how awesome it looks and they cared what people thought and wanted and they didn’t rush through on their work like they did with skylanders. Being a huge Spyro fan I can’t wait till this game hits store shelves and we add it to our collection. Yeah sure they changed a lot since spyros debut for the ps1 but look at it this way the graphics were created with the new generation in mind and the levels and characters were left alone aiming towards pleasing the older generation ps1 fans and like everything out there they had to get on the train to the present times and who knows perhaps activision saw the light from their screwup with skylanders and figured we can do better and from the look of this game activision redeemed themselves and did just that, keep up the great work guys 😉👍spyros future depends on it
Hope that the menu is a kind of "Dragonpedia", that cointains info about each dragon released, and replay their animation again. Really excited to see the Magic Crafter Dragons.
I am definately all for being able to replay the animations! I swear the animations are so beautiful I'd love to just watch them again and again! (like the little leap Spyro does when mentioning he smells a barbecue)
0MidnighttheDragon0 Apparently, you can't replay the dragons anymore by stepping over their plataforms, so, there is a likely chance that you can see info about each of them in the menu , like height, weight (also in meters and kilograms please), color, habitat and occupation, and replay them, I remember Argus in Artisans home had two different animations, also Debin can be released in Gnasty World, but can't be reseen after bearing Gnasty Gnorc (gets replaced by Magnus), I hope they fix that.
Huh....I didnt know a lot of that. Likely cuz as a kid I mostly just replayed 3 a lot and a bit of two. admittadely despite being a huge spyro fan I never even beat spyro 1 as a kid XD
Yep! I like how the elder dragons are designed based on their homeworlds I bet that Peace Keepers Dragons will have a military theme to them, and magic crafter, and Dream Weaver dragons will have the magicians theme to them!
Fans, I get that some of you prefer the original PS1 versions, but please don't start fights with those who adore the Reignited Trilogy despite the HD upgrade and changes. And new fans, don’t provoke the older Spyro fans please.
Honestly I think the HD looks super pretty! that and its gonna give younger audience or people who haven't experienced spyro in a whole new way! I grew up on the original and Im so excited for the HD. I haven't played spyro in forever and it just brings back so much nostogia!
I know this is 4 days ago..... but seriously CrystalBlazier DON'T just pin the fights and negativity on the people who prefer the originals!! most of the time it's the people who like the new stuff calling people nostalgia blinded idiots for preferring the original! that's what so much of the negativity is surrounding this remake, think of both sides, it's not only the old fans who act like kids, personally i prefer the originals but i love the new ones too.
MechaMinilla99 I’m not trying to pin the fights on the users who prefer the originals. I’m simply putting out a notice, since the fans who are against the changes in Reignited are more vocal and have been prone to lash out on the video comments. If it continues, I will have to disable comments.
Yeah the negativity can be bad sometimes, i hope you don't have to disable comments, i don't know about all of your comment sections but i usually see pretty much just the same amount of people starting fights for and against the originals, new fans making fun of the older fans like i said and the older fans reacting to them.
So far I love these designs of the dragons. The beast maker dragons have a very tribal look to them and seem to resemble frogs and geckos. It makes me wonder if each dragon tribe is going to resemble a specific reptile, in addition to being dragons. Like for example, the peacekeeper dragons live in desserts and canyons, so they resemble such reptiles as diamondback rattlesnakes, or cobras, or any other reptile that lives in the dessert. The beast makers world is a swamp of sorts, so that's why the dragons have very amphibious appearances. Even the Artisans dragons' looks reflect their part of the dragon worlds. The artisans worlds are medieval in appearance, with castles and stone structures, so the therefor the dragons' there look like your typical European western style dragon. They even look very European, and are said to be the artists and creators of the dragons worlds which is why they are seen with paintbrushes and color palettes and such. That all being said, I wonder if the Magic Crafters dragons will have fur since they live up in cold mountains. And the Dreamweavers might resemble chameleons or something since they are a very colorful species. Something like that.
I just wish some folks could see it that way, haha. Man if that's real, it really goes to show how much love and thought was put into the designs, yeah? I too thought that the Beastmakers designs were inspired by their surroundings! They even look like they can belong in an animated film.
I really love how they're making Spyro more likeable in #1. He was a lot sassier in the original and they toned it down a bit in #2 and #3 (which I prefer). The Jed encounter was perfect! (All of the new animations are incredible) :D
I think Spyro being less sassy in the Reignited Trilogy has more to do with the times than the developers. See, throughput most of the 1990s, that whole "Mascot with an attitude" schtick was all the rage. I'm not sure if Sonic The Hedgehog started that trend or not, but he certainly helped in popularizing it. Fast forward to today (Which, as of the posting of this comment, is in late June of 2018), and that "attitude" is nowhere near as prevalent. To many modern gamers, sassy characters just come off as obnoxious. This can be somewhat evidenced with Ratchet And Clank - in the first game, Ratchet was quite arrogant. But from the next game onwards, Insomniac specifically changed his character to be "less cocky", due to feedback. And I personally agree with these sorts of changes; maybe it's just me, but I never much cared for that "smarmy showoff" routine.
BlueCorp Maybe they have more personality in the remake, but i'll miss that seriousness and pure breeds from the diferent home worlds at the original ones
Yes, humanized. They could have put more character and personality without clothing them with silly hats and accessories. The new versions are obviously an improvement in personality as the originals lacked diversity-- but the way they chose to do it was definitely a choice. They remind me of characters from a child education cartoon off of Nick Jr. or something like that-- pretty damn goofy and cringe. It wont make the games less fun, and I will still enjoy them! It was definitely a choice though.
Spyro is precious and I love him. The animations and Tom Kenny's performance are spot on. No matter how many nitpicks get dished out at this game. This is one part that is an absolutely welcome improvement.
PlotlinePlus These four years are about retro games. Super Mario Maker for Wii U and 3DS, Sonic Mania, Crash Bandicoot Nsane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy etc.
Alright...I see how it is. They didn't really take the original dragon proportions/size/color/markings to make the new ones xD Don't get tme wrong, THEY'RE AWESOME but...That makes me lose hope to see a "cooler" version of my favorite dragons.
+creampie haha ofc not. ofc you do have a poiny but i meant dragons like titan from peacekeepers :) he was cool and unique. So id be sad to see an extreme overhaul on him.
I get what you mean, Halvor was always my favorite. He seemed to be the largest and that was always cool to me. I hope he is still big and intimidating in the remake. Most Peace Keeper Dragons were on the large side so hopefully they stick to that. After all they are the military dragons. To bad we haven't seen one yet to get a impression on what the rest might look like.
These give me goosebumps! So much personality! I love the movement now with the dialogue, feels so alive. I remember when I was younger looking at the box art wishing it looked that good. Now it will look even better!
Riley Jacobs II imo I think it’s fits well with the tone of the beast makers, since they’re kinda like shamans in a sense and it just kinda goes with the creepy swamp vibe
They were never Shamans in the original, just Dragons tasked with a job and that job is creating 3/4 of the critters that exist on all the homeworlds. They were prideful chunky zookeepers playing god basically.
I'd imagine they probably made an attempt to simply recreate the old dragons then decided against it for probably a good reason. If you really like the originals, then you'll just have to enjoy them by replaying the original.
I still think the original Nevin has a humorous delivery, especially with "Be care Spyro". I'm fine with the new animation/deliveries though. However, I still don't like the dismissive narrative that the original dragons are hollow in comparison. They still have a lot of character with distinct personalities and line deliveries. Old dragons are nothing to sneeze at.
I love how the Beastmaker dragons all sound vaguely Cajun. Also, apparently they can have feathered wings; how cool! Kinda wish they gave Spyro feathered wings, too...
I love that the new dragon designs are more varied with different animal features instead of basically being recolors, like how Isaak looks like a frog, and Lyle looks like a chameleon.
Love the new dragon designs. Nevin kind of reminds me of Butch from The Good Dinosaur. In fact, the style in general reminds me of Disney and Pixar's animation style.
Funny you say that, at the time Insomniac probably tried to aim for that level of detail and can definitely be seen today with their most recent work with Ratchet and Clank on the PS4 For now Toys for Bob are doing an amazing job right now!
TeckGeck I agree. I remember the original PS1 Spyro Trilogy, especially the 2nd and 3rd one, the characters kind of looked like muppets a bit, which I found unique for a PS1 game. I’m a good way, of course.
Fun Fact: In Spyro 1, he's voiced by the same guy who voiced Rocko in Rocko's Modern Life and from Spyro 2 onward, Spyro shares his new voice actor with Spongebob
I love it, only gripe is the dragon counter appearing at the same time as the dragon appears, makes the screen look suddenly cluttered and the original way just flows better, also I wish they had kept the original dragon counter sound apart from that it’s looking great.
I can figure it out the dragons designs based on the worlds, if that programmers are aiming for. Artisans - the same name said so. Peacemakers - dragons with war uniform or based in war. Crafters - wizard, mages, sorcery dragon looking. Beastmakers - shamans or voodoo meister Dreamers - Sleepytime dressed or angelic dragons
The only thing im hoping for is a change to the font and a toggle for motion blur, but otherwise Toys for Bob is making me cry with just how beautiful this all looks.
Tom Kenny isn't the only welcome update to this game; I like the new voice actors to the other elder dragons as well. And just look at Spyro's smile, that is one cute dragon. The cartoony and agile animation also helps.
I do miss the "cooking/crackle" sound, when they are about to breake! But i have to admit, the voice acting, and the animations mixed with the dragons personality is insanely good. Cant wait for it to be released :D I just finished Ripo's rage again on Ps emulator :D
It all looks great and all, but idk... There's just something about the charm with the originals that just gets me to me. I guess it's the nostalgia. Like one thing I prefer over the remake is the music silence when the statues are breaking before freeing the dragon and the sound effects. But, it would be dumb to keep it that same way in the remake so, I get it.
I love how the last dragon just shrugs. I was a little iffy at first on the dragons, but they're growing on me. Spyro is just adorable. My most favorite transformation is the alpine ridge beasts. They're adorably scary now
The new designs of the elder dragons have really grown on me. I thought they looked rather odd at first, but now I love them! They are unique, creative, expressive, and brimming with personality! This new game is gonna be spectacular!
There is something that has always confused me since i played spyro back when... Why does every elder dragon stand on two legs and Spyro dosen't? Is it something that changes as dragons grow up or something. Or are there just different types. And who laid all the eggs in year of the dragon, I can only recall male dragons ._. (was any of this clearified?)
If we ever get a new Skylanders game, I'd love to see Spyro's Reignited design be carried over, and the various other dragon Skylanders (like Sunburn, Blackout, Spotlight, Echo, Zap, etc.) get redesigns inspired the Reignited dragons.
I'm really, really, really excited to see the second and third game and see what they did with the NPCS of each level. If the dragons get diversity, they do too- I would imagine. I couldn't be more excited. Elora, Hunter, Bianca, the Professor, Money Bags-- the squuuaaaaad. This is good shit. The quality is so clean ahhh. Although I don't really like the dragons so much, but I appreciate the boost in personality. The accessories/clothing etc are lame though (not the Tree Tops dragons so much, but Artisans).
Honestly I was dreading the voice acting at first. A lot of what made Spyro so quirky for me was the different accents in different worlds, the different "looks" etc. I was scared it'd get toned down, but if anything it's been refined and toned up (with the dragons holding things and having clearer appearances). So so happy that the game that shaped my childhood is getting remastered and still has the charm it did 20 years ago.
I love how the fat dragon has a hard time taking off.
This game has very VERY nice details.
I though i was the only one that noticed that owo
Love how Jed shrugs at the end when Spyro sasses him.😂👌
That floating shrug is spot-on LOL
welp Jed is an ass for getting stuck where he did... Tree Tops is pure hell. lol... well it is if you wanna rescue Jed.
Rose Supreme Yup. 😂
As he vanishes lmaoo
LoL!!! Lovely.
The painter dragon looks like a smug bastard and I love it
Lol it’s true. Look at him before he starts talking
Well, I'd be smug and trollish as hell too if I was telling someone that a literal pile of sheep is the most devious henchman of Nasty Gnorc ;)
@paaklapi: Not sure about the Dream Weavers either, perhaps they will be dressed for bed LOL.
jane1975 It would be great if the dragons in Dream Weavers were wearing pyjamas, hugging pillows and wrapping themselves in bed sheets.
I'm gonna miss the ''sound'' when the number of rescued dragons changes. It's one of the most nostalgic sound from games in my chidhood
Its a remake yoi cant expect it to be the same
I feel like the combination of the sound and the dragon counter changing during a brief pause is more satisfying in the original bc it happens after the dragon is already free and can draw more attention to itself, whereas in the new version it feels too cluttered bc it happens while the dragon is being freed and has a more subtle sound effect.
I love Tom Kenny is still using his old Spyro voice from Spyro 2-3. It makes it feel more constant with all three games.
Well, i just hope they can get the old ones for this in german. It would be sad to have diffrent voices. The german dub is so good!
Fion Silberpfeil Hopefully they'll get as many of the original German VAs as they can. It'd be awesome for German fans to hear those voices again.
Yes! I can live with the english ones, but the one, you grew up with is the one i would love.
A considerable improvement! The animation has so much personality, the new voice acting is excellent, the accessories are a great touch, and its awesome to have much more variation in their bodies. I especially like the Beast Maker's almost shamanistic overhaul and how the artisans now look like... Artisans.
Dracomut z Do you think that Bianca will be able to have more than one expression on her face this time?
Seeing how expressive everyone is here I am almost certain
I like the new graphics and feel for the game. only thing I found that I hate is spyro's voice. Maybe because I am too familiar with the originals.
The only one who shouldn't have expressions is Hunter, because he's a lifeless husk of a cheetah.
(Really though, I absolutely love the new animations and voicework!)
Stephen Housman it's the same guy who voiced Spyro in Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon. It's actually Tom Kenny, aka Spongebob.
I hope that all the "Thank you for releasing me" (or a good part of them) keep saying that line, but spyro gets more tired each time they say it, like a running gag.
"Thank you for re..."
"Yeah, yeah, for releasing you I get it!"
"...geez, you try to be polite around here..." (flies off sadly)
I really like how the remake seems to be giving all the Beastmakers cajun accents.
They kind of always had it to varying degrees, but I just love it more now. Though, Isaak is already my favorite, and the game isn't even out yet!
I love it..it fits the game so we'll.
I can’t wait to see the Magic Crafters and Dream Weaver dragons. So mystical, so surreal. I’m hyped.
Well they do live in the Bayou. 😋
I remember reading somewhere that the developers said they were going for each world having their own "race" of dragons, like different themes and cultures :)
I love the new jed animation especially the end
Oh well
Nolan Hewitt Me too! The way he flies away while shrugging is priceless xD
true that
his animations are good, but I'm not a fan of his design...
Toddtrous He does look a little creepy, I'll admit.
I think they took the witch doctor thing a little too far but I’m not complaining.
I didn't expect the variety to go this far when I said that I loved how each dragon looks different XD
I freaking love these guys
The dragons are so much more interesting now. The older dragons were just reused skins/pallets and a bit boring. Now they look cooler and have way more personality. I like it :)
Foranya Exactly!
@Foranya I'm glad you're not one of those blind nostalgia-tards. People like you know how to accept change.
Foranya obviously their possibilities were much more limited back then, but had Insomniac had the technology from today it would have looked way better
Foranya I will always still prefer the originals but yeah I'm loving these new dragons!, it's an improvement, I'll admit that even though I do prefer the original in every single way.
Foranya it really makes them stand out
After hearing his old voice again, I only just realized how much a product of the 90s Spyro was.
TechnoScorpion yeah. Later it was Tom kenny
His original VA was the same guy as the Taco Bell Chihuahua.
That's all I really need to say about that.
fawfulmark2 his name was Carlos alazaqui
fawfulmark2 - He's the guy that voices Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life and yes he's coming back for the tv movie.
Goleon He also voiced Lazlo in Camp Lazlo, Joe Murray's other creation.
All the new animations are great!
ECDT1089 they add personality that the original lacked
Rie Vinaca how dare you say that!
Mark Reyes I'm not saying the original didn't have personality but it lacked the kind that the remake has
I agree, the originals had very little visual personality for them due to lack of technology and had to focus on what they say and how they say it, but with the remake, they went all out on giving the dragons the look and flavour their voices deserved.

Holy crap I am LOVING Kenny's delivery of these old lines.
Oh and the elder dragons look pretty cool too.

Funny how Lyle has some difficult to fly due to his weight.
The artisans dragons now actually look like artisans. My life is complete.
Yep! I like how the elder dragons are designed based on their homeworlds I bet that Peace Keepers Dragons will have a military theme to them, and magic crafter, and Dream
Weaver dragons will have the magicians theme to them!

Dragon Snoopy D. Rescued
Snoopy D.: "Yo, smoke weed my purple dude."
Spyro: "Ok got it."
Jed shrugging at the end is a mood
The new designs of the dragons are honestly starting to grow on me xD
I think they look much better than the plain old dragons.
I can't get over spyro loving his design so much
Spyro is so adorable. Don't you just want to squeeze him?
Spyro is so animated, that sass with the eyebrow is exactly how I would say that line myself (talking about Jed 2:24)
The animation is top notch.
So far I love these designs of the dragons. The beast maker dragons have a very tribal look to them and seem to resemble frogs and geckos. B II I think the Magic Crafter Dragobs will have a kind of Eastern Asia look to them.
I just wish some folks could see it that way, haha. Man if that's real, it really goes to show how much love and thought was put into the designs, yeah? I too thought that the Beastmakers designs were inspired by their surroundings! They even look like they can belong in an animated film.
Wow! They actually have personality and aren't just clones of eachother.
I want to see more dragons!
I really love how they're making Spyro more likeable in #1. He was a lot sassier in the original and they toned it down a bit in #2 and #3 (which I prefer). The Jed encounter was perfect! (All of the new animations are incredible) :D
Yep yep. Not that i dont like him in one, but he def. was way better in 2, even more in 3.
That game was....dunno. A bit weird. Not bad, but not as good as 1-3.
I always liked sassy spyro the most... Weird, I thought everyone else did too
RogalDorn23 i personally like a combination
I think Spyro being less sassy in the Reignited Trilogy has more to do with the times than the developers. See, throughput most of the 1990s, that whole "Mascot with an attitude" schtick was all the rage. I played this at 7 years old. All of them (but the best were the first 3) I am 27 now, and I MUST have this game.
I like the new animations but i prefer the big dragons not so humanized
José Carlos Simarro Sahuquillo humanized? You mean more character put into them. Nah you can keep your naked dragons.
BlueCorp Maybe they have more personality in the remake, but i'll miss that seriousness and pure breeds from the diferent home worlds at the original ones
José Carlos Simarro Sahuquillo
Yeah, for some reason I hate the new painter.
They all now look like arrogant...
Mew Two imo, they sound intellectual
Yes, humanized. They could have put more character and personality without clothing them with silly hats and accessories. PlotlinePlus These four years are about retro games. Super Mario Maker for Wii U and 3DS, Sonic Mania, Crash Bandicoot Nsane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy etc.
Don't know why but the new Isaak is my favourite dragon already haha he's just so enthusiastic about the supercharge ramp lol
Alright...I see how it is. They didn't really take the original dragon proportions/size/color/markings to make the new ones xD Don't get tme wrong, THEY'RE AWESOME but...That makes me lose hope to see a "cooler" version of my favorite dragons.
Pretzelicious you mean the same 4 dragons reused throughout the whole game?
+creampie haha ofc not. ofc you do have a poiny but i meant dragons like titan from peacekeepers :) he was cool and unique. So id be sad to see an extreme overhaul on him.
Well now they're ALL cool and unique.
Invest in a keyboard yeah?
OMG. The dragons in the remaster have so much more freakin personality to them now XD the outfits.
I'm probably gonna get hate for this, but the remake kinda reminds me a lot of Spyro a Heros Tail (which is a good thing)
I mostly exited for the Spyro 2 characters
Same, they haven’t even showed Hunter or Elora yet.
SAME. and the NPCs of each world! Are they going to be unique from eachother too! Ah, so much excitement.
I'm looking forward to seeing agent 9 in spyro 3
These give me goosebumps! So much personality! I love the movement now with the dialogue, feels so alive. I remember when I was younger looking at the box art wishing it looked that good. Now it will look even better!
Those freaking statues always gives me the Guardians vibe that I can never see the dragons the same way XD
ThatCrazyFurrball I know right?😃 those crystallized dragons look like Cyril from The Legend of Spyro games!
ThatCrazyFurrball I guess they got inspired by LOS games?
Matthew Palomino YEAH!!! That was I was saying when I saw the 1st one, lol!!
Next month, are they doing Spyro 2?
Thanks.
Francis Coyle I hope so, I want to see Elora’s new look. ❤️
Can’t wait to see Ripto :D
All three are coming out together.
Lol. Humanity.
did anyone else notice that Jed's staff has Lombax ears on it?
Original: "Be careful, Spyro. This boss has many tricks up his sleeve."
Reignited: "Be careful, Spyro. Toasty has many tricks up his sleeve."
The bosses in the first Spyro game aren't that much of..."bosses", per say XD
am i the only one who thinks Jed is nightmare inducing, those googly eyes plus his 3rd and 4th eyes adorned. lol
Yeah, they went too far with it. Now he looks like a slug, or a fat snake with the way his face looks. They need to tone it down with the changes.
yeah, Lyle is probably my favorite beast maker design
Riley Jacobs II imo I think it’s fits well with the tone of the beast makers, since they’re kinda like shamans in a sense and it just kinda goes with the creepy swamp vibe
They were never Shamans in the original, just Dragons tasked with a job and that job is creating 3/4 of the critters that exist on all the homeworlds. They were prideful chunky zookeepers playing god basically.
Yeah, I like the rest of them but Jed, which is one of the most known dragons looks really eye soreing.
I love the dragons' new models and animations
0:39 Gotta love the detail! Nevin actually looks at Toasty's way when he refers to him.
I love how Nevin actually refers to the Boss by name this time.
It's amazing how much personality and charm they poured into these cutscenes
This is such a beautiful remake. 😍
0:34 Can we all take a moment to appreciate how adorable Spyro’s little pounce was here?
love the new graphics but i love the old voices and the old look of the elder dragons :/
SonofOdin Thor nah the new dragons have more personality now.
I liked the grapes they had in the original but now they’re gone
Me too i dont quite like the new dragons they are to humanized now
I'd imagine they probably made an attempt to simply recreate the old dragons then decided against it for probably a good reason. If you really like the originals, then you'll just have to enjoy them by replaying the original.
I really love Lyle and Isaak's new designs.
Agreed.
Thank you for releasing me
If they redo the "Thank you for releasing me" dragons, then I'll certainly be all the happier for it.
I love how the Beastmaker dragons all sound vaguely Cajun. Also, apparently they can have feathered wings; how cool! Kinda wish they gave Spyro feathered wings, too...
I noticed that .. at least with Jed.
The last one is the best with that shrug when he leaves.
They did an amazing job with these
Is it just me or do the dragon statues' profiles resemble the designs from the LoS series?
I love that the new dragon designs are more varied with different animal features instead of basically being recolors, like how Isaak looks like a frog, and Lyle looks like a chameleon.
Nice to see actual variety in the dragons, as well as some thematically appropriate accessories like giving art supplies to the Artisans.
It's amazing how much of a character they were able to put in each dragon changing the delivery of the same lines (of course the new looks help a lot)
Love the new dragon designs. Nevin kind of reminds me of Butch from The Good Dinosaur. In fact, the style in general reminds me of Disney and Pixar's animation style.
Funny you say that, at the time Insomniac probably tried to aim for that level of detail and can definitely be seen today with their most recent work with Ratchet and Clank on the PS4
For now Toys for Bob are doing an amazing job right now!
TeckGeck I agree. I remember the original PS1 Spyro Trilogy, especially the 2nd and 3rd one, the characters kind of looked like muppets a bit, which I found unique for a PS1 game. I’m a good way, of course.
TeckGeck Also in the remastered, Isaak sounds a lot like Cedric the Entertainer.
Spyro: All the other dragons got cool accessories. What about me?
Devs: You got Sparks!
Perhaps since he's smaller and is still on all fours, the dragons arent able to give him excessories??
I love all the small changes! Also love how expressive Spyro is! Tom Kenny does a fantastic job!
So excited to play this game again, it's been too long since I had a PS1
What I remember as a kid was : that was a incredible Glide Spyro... You com a long way...
( please tell me I'm not the only one )
I love this sassy Spyro, this is great.
Fun Fact: In Spyro 1, he's voiced by the same guy who voiced Rocko in Rocko's Modern Life and from Spyro 2 onward, Spyro shares his new voice actor with Spongebob
This game make me smile every time i watch the new videos :)
Beastmakers - shamans or voodoo meister
Dreamers - Sleepytime dressed or angelic dragons
Wow for a remake why did they take the sonic boom route for the dragons?
Was the last one holding a stick had a Ratchet and Clank reference on the top I think it look likes ratchets ears
Stuart Macleod Could very well be even the middle of the ears reminds me of Ratchet's brown hat from the Remake.
2:19 Anyone notice the end of Jed's staff kinda look like Ratchets ears?
I freakin love Tom’s Spyro
Holy crap this is gonna better than the original isn’t it.
I love how the last dragon just shrugs. I was a little iffy at first on the dragons, but they're growing on me. Spyro is just adorable. My most favorite transformation is the alpine ridge beasts. They're adorably scary now
Who voiced Lyle? He sounded familiar.
Axel Goldfarb I'm pretty sure that it was Kevin Michael Richardson.
I'm so happy with the direction they're taking with the remasters.
The new designs of the elder dragons have really grown on me. I thought they looked rather odd at first, but now I love them! They are unique, creative, expressive, and brimming with personality! This new game is gonna be spectacular!
Wait
Jed has feathered wings and I didn't notice until just now
I am confused but intrigued
I love Nevin had animation when he says toasty has many tricks up his sleeve
*Hand
Does Jed have bird wings?
I'm really liking the diversity of the dragons now. Super cool.
Nope, none of it was clarified.
It makes me smile to see the games get remade :3 Spyro is the reason why I love video games, dragons/reptiles and why my favorite color is purple.
We all love the old but we must learn to love the new.
As time comes changes are made.
It is beatiful to see the diffrence in graphics and audio.
OwO the design of that dragon head portal in spyro reignited looks so spot on :D Im looking so forward to playing this
I love how unique they all look
New designs, voices and animations are all so cool!
I wanna see the baby dragons fooling around.
valcristPL saaaame. I hope they make em cute!
I wonder what the Peace Keepers will look like. They were my favorite.
Love the animations! Not really used to the new designs, but I'm sure it won't take too much effort.
I now really want to see Rosco.
This is looking great!
I absolutely love seeing Tom Kenny as the voice of Spyro again. He's definitely still got the touch after all these years.
I love the new one, their designs and their clothing really makes each of them stand out
Is the painter dragon in the remake fixed by Tim Curry?
Why does Isaak remind me of a Firey from Labyrinth
Honestly I was dreading the voice acting at first. A lot of what made Spyro so quirky for me was the different accents in different worlds, the different "looks" etc. I was scared it'd get toned down, but if anything it's been refined and toned up (with the dragons holding things and having clearer appearances). So so happy that the game that shaped my childhood is getting remastered and still has the charm it did 20 years ago.
