DAMN. Really puts into perspective how far the video game industry has come over the past 20 years.
The levels has still the exact same look, but a different overhaul with more detailed than before for 20 years since the original Spyro game came out on PlayStation console back in 1998.

I thought Spyro was beating the shit out of giant toads for 20 years...my whole life is a lie..
I also thought they were toads, mostly because of the noises they made
Looking at this right now and I played Spyro last year in September and since that was before the news over Reignited was announced, the ps1 games were all I had to play Spyro but was playing them on my ps3, the ps1 games look bland compared to this. Holy shit. But the ps1 version will always have a special place in my heart 💜.

I remember when i was younger thinking that some of the character designs on the ps1 version of the game looked kinda weird
I also remember thinking wow look at those graphics for the scenery in spyro and the controls felt so nice, such futuristic technology for games back when i was about 5 for ps1 games
The Spyro PSOne trilogy is my favorite game series of all time. My favorite andthe one I play most often is Ripto's Rage. Can't wait to play through and 100% (110%) them all as I've done many times since I first played them as a kid...but this time in HD with Trophies lol

I used to be *terrified* of the egg thieves when I was younger. Now they’re even more detailed, so it’s beautifully scary.
The amount of detail they added is pretty astounding.

My one complaint is that they need to work on the lighting. Everything looks like it's in sunset/sunrise.
To be fair most of these look like concept arts rather than the actual game footage.

All three games in the Reignited Trilogy. So far, TFB and Activision are showing images from the first game.
Daria Krousti It's all 3, but they're doing like VV did with N. Sane Trilogy & mostly showing stuff from the 1st game for now (although TFB is doing better since they've showed off more in the last 2 months than VV did in 5 or 6)

No, Spyro Enter the Dragonfly won't be part of Reignited. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a remastered trilogy of the original Spyro trilogy, not a quadrilogy. :)
Dragonfly was the only one I played. Had no clue of it other games.

For future reference you should make each slide the same format. Some pictures started old on left new on right some picture started different. If it makes it easier start out with a template that says "Old" on left and "New" on the right and just drag the pictures accordingly I to frame. It's also provide consistency
Legato Leone I was using the existing Reignited screenshot comparisons that had the Old to New from right to left, that’s how the devs formatted them.

These are great its cool to see it all lined up and compared like this, a lot has changed but good or bad i don't care, i'm honestly happy its not just the same game over, this brings excitement for me to the Discovery part which matters far more than story to me. Man, some of these look leaps and bounds ahead in quality, and others just look like crap.
Take many of the green gnorcs. In the original, their general shape was that of a triangle- thin at the top and wide at the bottom. But the new designs have beefed up their arms and turned the triangle upside down, making them look more top-heavy.
Can't expect characters to look the same after an HD upgrade. *shrugs*

I get it tho. Some of the enemies look like a great remaster, because you can really see the resemblance and the essence of what they were going for in the original. But some of them don’t, not even a little bit. Like some of the frogs for example, they could have done a better job at capturing the essence of the original. I don’t like the egg thief either. But hey, it still looks amazing
Not really asking for a polygonal 1 to 1 upscale just a more goofy somewhat angular design similar to the original. They seem just TOO round, the skylanders feel is overly prominent.
ALPHA-SOLIDUS What do you expect? Toys For Bob created Skylanders and are making Reignited in their style. :)
CrystalBlazier This is more of a remake than a remaster. Also part of what constitutes a “remaster” is to simply up the graphics of existing models and properties, not completely overhaul them. The new models may be “good” but they don’t capture the silliness of the originals. The big metal plated norc being a prime example.

Didn't know those irritating dragon egg thiefs had faces back on the PS1. Kinda terrifying...
It's strange that I'm so fond and use to the rather goofy and weird look of the original models. They were so 'poorly' done it made them more memorable and even creepy! It was sort of a style.
The redone enemies are fantastic don't get me wrong! But that creepy minimalizm and universal style of the originals of our childhood is rather lost in the details.
I hope they make the legend of spyro remastered

+Mushroom Head Gnorcs were never meant to look cute. They looked that way back then because of the PS1's limited model mechanics.
Antichrist2000 The reason they looked froglike was because of the Plsystation 1 limitations. If Insomniac had the technology back then, the Gnorcs would’ve looked like their Reignited counterparts.
Plus the Gnorcs would have generic designs if they were simply upscaled from their original models.
