The final word art example has me slack-jawed…. I always joked that if you have ‘Eat, Enjoy’ on your dining room wall, and ‘Sleep, Dream’ in the bedroom, shouldn’t you have ‘Piss, Poop’ in the bathroom? I guess someone didn’t get the joke!
Faux plants blended with real ones are great! The real plants make the faux ones look real and disguise the real ones you’re killing. It helps keep costs and maintenance down but helps fill out a space. It works indoors and out.
There used to be a show on bbc ‘how clean is your house’, and one of the hosts used to take samples of filth from a house and analyze them, and what she collected on the toilet seat covers and rugs was absolutely disgusting.
OMG, those awful "sofas" with built-in cup holders and phone chargers should be banished to the bowels of the Earth. I want whoever created those to be charged AND convicted for crimes against humanity. Sentence: LIFE. Ugggh! 🤬
I know what Rae Dunn was thinking: we're gonna sell a shit-ton of this shit and make a ton of money. And they were correct. I worked for TJMaxx for a few months and we could not keep it on the shelves.
Agree with all, but faux plants are my only possibility for greenery. My cats are killing every plant. They have even chewed a kactus.. I have given up.
Phew - I made it through without any infringements !!! I'm not the most fashion conscious of people, so nice to know the house isn't too ickky. I worry that I don't have any strands of wooden beads artistically draped around the place - is it too late ?
My parents and sister-in-law have some of these and love them. The one I sort of have is mason jars and other recycled jars but they're holding art supplies and materials and not used as decor.
You are spot on. Nearly all of today's pop culture DIY's are tomorrow's trash. You can DIY, but only if you really know what you are doing. And Ray Dunn...OMFG. I'm sure she's a terrific person. But, Lord, save me from that cult. And I have (rarely, thank the Universe) been to parties where the toilet is encased in fabrics. I immediately leave. Seriously. And "Word Art" in a Kitchen that has a marble-topped autopsy table-sized island gives me the creeps. I feel like the owner is desperately trying to scream that they are "normal" despite their penchant for sadism.
Phoenix! First, you are wonderful! Your sense of humor is hysterical! Second, Your knowledge of trends are great! Third, you just get real! I want you write a book!
Toilet seat covers are trying to make a comeback?? I had no idea! As a child of the 80’s … Don’t do it 😂😂 Great video! No hate, these are all right on! ❤❤
What I hate the most is an etched glass door that says pantry. Expensive to change. I’ve not bought a house because of this. There were other things not liked, but this was the turning point.
Much better to have a high quality faux plant than to kill a live one. It's not just a matter of watering it every once in a while, at least for most plants. It's giving the right amount of water and sunlight (probably turning it around every once in a while), dealing with dropping leaves, trimming when it starts to get too big, treating for potential bugs and diseases, replacing the soil that gets thrown all over the floor by the pets, etc. And real plants can get just as dusty as fake ones if they're not cleaned. My mom is a plant connoisseur and can grow anything, including a collection of gorgeous orchids. Unfortunately I did not inherit that from her: I could kill a cactus. I do not want to kill any plants, because I like plants, so I will stick with the best quality faux plants I can find.
As a male, I think anything fabric around a toilet is unsanitary. No matter how well you aim there is an invisible spray. Hard, smooth surfaces are much easier to keep clean.
NO! Nobody should wear that. LOL! But it could be repurposed as a produce bag: cut off the sleeves from the bodice, sew the neck hole together, sew handles at the bottom of the shirt and you can sew back the cut off sleeves to make pockets. It could also be used as a fishnet to collect the fish on a fishing trip. It could be used for gardening, to support heavy fruits like cantelopes from trellis.
Agree!! 100% agree!! I especially hate the Rae Dunn crap. Tell me you’re emotionally stunted without telling me you’re emotionally stunted. I know you’re talking about decor trends, but there’s a sub-text to your picks. And, I’m here for it. Keep it coming.
Awesome ! I feel the same about all the stuff thst u discussed over. Basically this kind of designing overwhelm some people and they try to folloe them insanely without realizing the cost they r paying for such idioticity. Thanks u r loved 😇
I have many real house plants and sorry I love them but they are still dust collectors! Only worse because if you don't keep them clean they struggle to thrive through that dust!
It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't on display - but I know that's the point. The other problem is you know half of them are fake. No way some of these people spent $1800 on a throw.
I think the multi color LV logo wallpaper is cute for a teen girl room. I have mirrored nest tables in my guest room. Sorry NOT sorry. I wipe them off once a week for dust. They make a small room feel bigger. If a decor piece is from a actual design style i.e. Bauhaus, French provincial, mid century modern and is good quality, it’s timeless. I have a “modern organic/mid century modern” home but our dinning room furniture is Duncan Phyfe from my grandmother. Solid, amazing quality and still beautiful after 65yrs. ❤
The only good faux plant is a bouquet style because you can get dried, real flower versions, or amazing looking fake ones that won't die after a week. So I use those with nice vases, but fake house plants never look real.
I just found you and I’m here to stay. I agree with everything even though I am an offender lol My husband wouldn’t care if I decorated my home in pink tulle everything(I wouldn’t ) but he asked for a lazy boy and it will never leave. I also move around very often so faux plants it is for me. Love your channel!
The marshmallow couches are the worst. Not only are they ugly, they take up so much space that you cannot avoid looking at them. I always picture someone parking themselves in one of those in the morning and never getting up until the evening. You can eat from when sitting or reclining on one of those and only get up to go to the bathroom. I am surprised it does not have a mini refrigerator built in.
Pwahahaha!! I have kept every single glass jam jar and coffee jar and mason jar for the past 20 years! All my pantry stuff gets stored in them - you’d absolutely hate it! Yes, I know, there is no hope for me 😂😂😂😂
I have a house full of faux plants. I hate it to take care of plants. I clean them once and a while with a watering can or in the shower. Even on my balcony I have faux plants. Everything gets dusty in your house. When that is the reason you will not have it... Well, then your house is empty.
Hello I am a new subscriber, your critique on Rae Dunn was so on point I knew instantly, I found my people. Thank you for saying what I have thinking, Thank you.
Love your videos!! If you think you are bad with plants..... I have a restraining order just so I stay clear of Vincent van Gogh's sunflower painting....
Me staring at your faux plant, thinking you just blaming Brody and you forgot to hide it 🤣. I kid. I'm not into judging people's home decor( though recently I've been listening to a few youtuber/decorator, like yourself, giving their opinions, quite funny. I'm also not a "trend" follower . With that said , I will not use any bathroom with carpet on toilet and I would never purchase any Rae Dunn, never will be my taste. I do respect other people's idea of decor though and leave it at that. You on the other hand made a career out of decorating and giving tips and what not to do, so you get a pass judging decor .eheheh.
My last home had fantastic lighting and huge windows so I had all real plants. Guess what. They needed dusting. Corn plants, Silver Queens, pathos, etc. all need to be dusted. And in the south they get bugs and cats love to dig in the dirt. But wait... there's more! The moisture will ruin your furniture. I put plates, thick pads, and other things under the plant but the moisture still ruined my cherry wood table. If you find quality faux plants (yes, they cost a lot of money) then buy them especially if you don't have a lot of natural light in those rooms or corners. You also don't have to repot them or feed them or water them.
Must confess I do have two night stands in a mirrored finish. because the alcove where the bed lives is quite dark the mirrored finish works. The top is a dark marble and the nightstands have proved to be useful and rather unobtrusive. They go with the Gustavian style that I have going on in that space. So i’m sticking with them but I do get your point.
The only piece of Rae Dun that I ever want is a jar that had "Urn" on it. Obsessed with it. I'm spooky so a lot of my decor is going to be odd things, and Halloween decorations lol.
Since we're on the subject of crimes against style. You get a ticket for wearing that unforgivable mesh shirt that harks back to the 80s faux-athletic look. Yes, yours IS a modern color, so you avoid jail time. However, you know better, so I'm writing you a ticket anyway. Even WWE wrestlers looked bad in those. I'm doing this out of love, my dear.💕💕💕
We just put 2” slat mini blinds in our airBNB because the cellular shades we wanted can’t be easily cleaned. The very first guest has kids who smeared Cheetos handprints all over the place. And we used a few small fake plants because we needed the look but can’t water houseplants. I guess we can’t be friends because we traded design for practicality. 😜
I don’t have any of the above. Whooo. Still there are a lot of things I do not want but don’t have cash to change . And if u change one u have to change more! It sucks
HA! I hate every single decorating trend you've talked about, especially the 'word art' one. Gotta admit I have a puffy leather sofa with built-in recliners (no cup holders thank goodness) sitting in my LR. It was my son's (he moved in with me) and I don't really care; he likes it (you have to compromise) At least it's REAL leather.....I just wouldn't pay MONEY for any of the kitsch.
There are some really pretty fabric ones I’ve seen lately, but in my opinion nothing compares to a real plant watching grow. The satisfaction of it is luxury ❤
Well I guess I'm getting 10 years for my mirrored bedroom furniture, maybe 10 more for the mirrored wall behind the bed. Does that 10 years come with conjugal visits?😮
I’ve got a mirrored dresser. I think it started in my daughters room and now it’s in the master walk-in closet. It’s functional and that’s about it. The other mirrored end tables are working their way out of rotation, too. As long as they have a function, they stay.
The toilet seat covers should get a life sentence
😂😂😂the most horrible and ridiculous thing
I just bought one! Now I’m so ashamed
LOL, "....this is giving Pompeii"
I’m glad someone got it 🤣🤣🤣
The final word art example has me slack-jawed…. I always joked that if you have ‘Eat, Enjoy’ on your dining room wall, and ‘Sleep, Dream’ in the bedroom, shouldn’t you have ‘Piss, Poop’ in the bathroom? I guess someone didn’t get the joke!
That made me laugh! Good one.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I find it a bit horrifying to imagine that toilet lid covers and surround rugs might make a comeback.😒
Faux plants blended with real ones are great! The real plants make the faux ones look real and disguise the real ones you’re killing. It helps keep costs and maintenance down but helps fill out a space. It works indoors and out.
I do this! I can’t keep a fiddle leaf fig or Triostar alive so I mix high quality fakes with my real easy-care plants!
There used to be a show on bbc ‘how clean is your house’, and one of the hosts used to take samples of filth from a house and analyze them, and what she collected on the toilet seat covers and rugs was absolutely disgusting.
I can only imagine the nightmare of growth!
OMG, those awful "sofas" with built-in cup holders and phone chargers should be banished to the bowels of the Earth. I want whoever created those to be charged AND convicted for crimes against humanity. Sentence: LIFE. Ugggh! 🤬
Men seem to love them especially when’ll with leather lol
Hallelujah!! I’m so glad word art is over. I had the unpopular opinion for so long and now, influencers agree with me. Thank you.
I rarely agree with everything that designers say, but I agree 100% with you on this one!
I'm with you on the instructional kitchenware. Toilet seat covers! Why? Unless you change it every 4 hours?😂
Phew - I made it through without any infringements !!!
I'm not the most fashion conscious of people, so nice to know the house isn't too ickky.
I worry that I don't have any strands of wooden beads artistically draped around the place - is it too late ?
I agree with all. They’re maybe some nicer faux greenery but usually very expensive. Most I’ve seen in homes is the plastic-y ones.
absolutely dragged me to hell over the mason jars 😭 a painfully accurate roast, and you're right, it's cuz they're cheap!
My parents and sister-in-law have some of these and love them. The one I sort of have is mason jars and other recycled jars but they're holding art supplies and materials and not used as decor.
Then you're using mason jars the right way
You are spot on. Seriously. hahahahha so true
😂 😂😂😂
When you said "If you have a learning disability" for the Rae Dunn set... 🤣🤣🤣 it sent me!
Phoenix! First, you are wonderful! Your sense of humor is hysterical! Second, Your knowledge of trends are great! Third, you just get real! I want you write a book!
I am a Mom. I hate Dunn dishware. Let's not include Mom's in bad decor pa'lease😂
I love my fake plants. 1.) I don’t have a green thumb. 2.) I have cats.
I have real, but 2 fake because you ça not have it in room with no light 😅😆, a cat and many are toxic
Toilet seat covers are trying to make a comeback?? I had no idea! As a child of the 80’s … Don’t do it 😂😂 Great video! No hate, these are all right on! ❤❤
The crocheted toilet lid cover just ended me 😂😂😂😂
What I hate the most is an etched glass door that says pantry. Expensive to change. I’ve not bought a house because of this. There were other things not liked, but this was the turning point.
I haven’t see this recently in any home but I respect your decision. I like a person who stands on principal 😂
Agreed! I hate the words on everything.
Recovering Rae Dunn addict here… it was cute, now it’s over produced junk. Hobby Lobby farmhouse and all the signs that come with it is beyond over!
Again, it’s like you were plucking all of these out of my head! Especially word art!
As a male, I think anything fabric around a toilet is unsanitary. No matter how well you aim there is an invisible spray. Hard, smooth surfaces are much easier to keep clean.
I have to say that the shirt should immediately be relegated to GoodWill.
I have three Rae Dunn cat bowls that I bought at Goodwill. They say “MEOW” and my cat Zoey loves them. 🤣
I’ll alway this for pets 🤍
Agree!! 100% agree!! I especially hate the Rae Dunn crap. Tell me you’re emotionally stunted without telling me you’re emotionally stunted.
I know you’re talking about decor trends, but there’s a sub-text to your picks. And, I’m here for it.

I HATE those UGLY sofas. 😂😂 My husband is all about them!😂😂
Awesome ! I feel the same about all the stuff thst u discussed over. Basically this kind of designing overwhelm some people and they try to folloe them insanely without realizing the cost they r paying for such idioticity. Thanks u r loved 😇
This is giving… Pompei 😂
I even have fake snake plants!!😂
I have many real house plants and sorry I love them but they are still dust collectors! Only worse because if you don't keep them clean they struggle to thrive through that dust!
I can't stand the Hermés throw blanket people get.
This is another really polarizing one!
I have had my Hermes blankets since the 90's. It has now become so 'trendy" which have me allocating them to the bedrooms lol .
It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't on display - but I know that's the point. The other problem is you know half of them are fake. No way some of these people spent $1800 on a throw.
I'm poor and even I find that cringe.
I agree with all of these. However, I don't agree with your shirt!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Your comments are on point and humorous. Now let's dive into the perils of mesh shirts as statement pieces.
The only good faux plant is a bouquet style because you can get dried, real flower versions, or amazing looking fake ones that won't die after a week. So I use those with nice vases, but fake house plants never look real.
Toilet seat covers always feels like “are they hiding something worse”. Then I take a better look and think to myself that nothing can be worse!
I just found you and I’m here to stay.
I agree with everything even though I am an offender lol
My husband wouldn’t care if I decorated my home in pink tulle everything(I wouldn’t ) but he asked for a lazy boy and it will never leave.

Ray Dunn font gives me horror movie vibes. I don’t see why people think it’s warm and whimsical.
I'm so glad im not the only one that feels this way!
Just terrible ugly clutter
Pwahahaha!! I have kept every single glass jam jar and coffee jar and mason jar for the past 20 years! All my pantry stuff gets stored in them - you’d absolutely hate it!

There are nicer faux plants- If your friends can’t tell if the plants are fake then they’re good- keep ‘em and dust them often!
Hello I am a new subscriber, your critique on Rae Dunn was so on point I knew instantly, I found my people. Thank you for saying what I have thinking, Thank you.
You are funny as hell.love watching you!!
You are so funny.. AND SO RIGHT! Toilet seat covers?! Good grief 🤢
Oh I hate those big recliners with the built in cup holders
I love your eyeglasses frames!!
Love your videos!!
If you think you are bad with plants.....
I have a restraining order just so I stay clear of Vincent van Gogh's sunflower painting....
Baby, I. kill. plants.
I kill weeds. People hired to stand in their yards as human weed killer. On the plus, I’m safe for pets and children…mostly
😂😂😂😅Laughed so hard. Just love this.
You are kind and fun to listen to.❤
Yay! I have zero offenses, not lying- I was so scared to have one offense from design daddy.
I hate any kind of paneling, open shelving, barn doors in the house, matching wooden furniture.
I live in a barn and love mason jars.
Love these series. Useful too as I'm moving to a new house
Me staring at your faux plant, thinking you just blaming Brody and you forgot to hide it 🤣. I kid. Never had the on seat covers but my mom had the one for the top of the seat and the one in front of the toilet.

Awe thank you so much 😊
I have to dust my real fig and orchid leaves also for good light absorption.
Arvin said it best..."We are DONE with Rae Dunn!". Amen.
I couldn’t agree more!
Must confess I do have two night stands in a mirrored finish. because the alcove where the bed lives is quite dark the mirrored finish works. I have mirrored nest tables in my guest suite and I’m not sorry. It’s a small room and they disappear so the room looks bigger. #mirror4life 😂
Ooh, I love the Gustavian style. I bet that room is gorgeous.
That top you're wearing MUST GO 😂
You made me laugh so many times on this video. And I so much agree with you. You have to wonder what people are thinking. 😊
Thanks for watching! So glad I could bring a good laugh to your day 🥰🤍
When I think of mason jars I think of hillbillies.
Haha! I mean you’re not wrong 😂
So people who grow and can their own food are hillbillies? You realize people have canned their own food for centuries. In mason jars.
Thanks. I didn't even now about most of these. And I agree with you about the ones I did. Except maybe the blinds that are practical and available.
I agree with you especially signs that day something
I always thought having a sign in your kitchen that says EAT was weird. Many people do not need encouragement to eat!😮
The only piece of Rae Dun that I ever want is a jar that had "Urn" on it. Obsessed with it. I'm spooky so a lot of my decor is going to be odd things, and Halloween decorations lol.

LOL that's a riot!
Great video as always! Where did you get your shirt? Love it
This one is from asos ❤
Haha. You should have called this “Prosecuting Criminal Design Trends.”
SUCH A QUEEN
I agree. Didn't even know some were a thing
He’s 100% right 🤮
Can the trend of TH-camrs saying “it’s giving” about everything, come to and end please
First video I've seen you yours. I agree with everything, so now I'm a new subscriber.
Love your videos!!
Thank you so so much 🥰
what a fun video! JUST SUBSCRIBED!
Thank you so much ❤❤
Grew up in a house with a shag carpet in the bathroom...was pink.
My first time watching your channel & I love it 😀 ❤ I'm happy to say I have none of these items & it's hard to pick the worst 😂
I avoid mirrored nightstands because I don't want you to see the body buried underneath my bed.
The only reason I use faux plants sometimes is that our cats eat the live ones. So all my live plants have to live in cages…
I agree with most of this. The Rae Dunn thing is crazy. And my style is traditional country.
the obsession that people have with them is absolutely wild
😂😂 Loved it! Subscribed! 😂😂
Thank you so much 🤍 have lots more to come
I'm guilty of recyling glass jars 😅but I'm using them for growing passive hydroponic plants so....😂
Totally disagree with you on the faux plants! As someone with over 60 real plants in her home, some faux plants are beautiful 🤩.
There are some really pretty fabric ones I’ve seen lately, but in my opinion nothing compares to a real plant watching grow. The satisfaction of it is luxury ❤
@@mrphoenixgrey unless your conditions are wrong or you over or under water them and they die
Mirrored furniture😢 toilet covers!😂
Holy sh22! My mom had an olive green shag toilet seat and cover. It was the late 60’s. Please, Nooooo!
Our store sells faux plants & personally have zero poker face. I ring these up w that "ate bad shrimp" face
Well I guess I'm getting 10 years for my mirrored bedroom furniture, maybe 10 more for the mirrored wall behind the bed. Does that 10 years come with conjugal visits?😮
Haha! If you plead guilty I’ll allow the conjugal visits 😂
@@mrphoenixgrey good! I was afraid to tell you I had one over the bed also!
I’ve got a mirrored dresser. I think it started in my daughters room and now it’s in the master walk-in closet. It’s functional and that’s about it. The other mirrored end tables are working their way out of rotation, too. As long as they have a function, they stay.
Foam furniture...seriously who thinks this is pretty ???? This is the worst kind of DIY and very harmfull for the heath !
Agreed to all!!!!
I do like maybe 1 or 2 RD pieces, BUT NOT AN ENTIRE SET.
Sorry RD fans!
