You should simulate having a baseplate on the bottom with a washer or something, so that the bolt has something hard to push against.

Everyone: oh noo you chopped a Bhangra!
You: and now watch me even drill some holes in it! 😂
    Especially the 3:57 method 😂😂
But great explanation in the ending 😊

I think something else very important "goes under the board" (sorry i had to!) here :D
What I mean is using Allen bolts over Phillips bolts because the latter tend to get carved out after several uses and if they are of suboptimal quality you quickly have a bolt that you can not remove from your board anymore. Lucky you if you can flex the nut off the other side, but just imagine the rest of the bolt is stuck in threaded head of your original YOW Meraki adapter...
I know that usually this only happens if you screw the bolts too tight, but it can also happen with low quality bolts or if you use them repeatedly or to beginners or being careless for a second when using the electric drill.
In my experience this only rarely happens with Allen bolts as the bit usually does not tend to slip out and scratch/carve the bolts surface on the occasion.
Usually I try to use Allen bolts wherever possible and replace Phillips bolts by any chance. Unfortunately all the Quik Truks come with Phillips bolts currently which I really would like to avoid. I think I will give this as feedback to the inventor sooner or later :D

The first one, and there you go, it's flat, but you've now buggered the hex slot from using too much force.
The second, the drill bit way is better, but over time it will begin to widen and widen until you have to fill it and then drill another set of holes.
The best method, and I'm trying to look in for them right now, is stainless steel countersunk inserts, that's the best but they're not easy to find, apparently...

@@skate-horizons i saw some on a longboard earlier but can't seem to find any online yet, I will post a link once I've done so, I'm just fed up of ruining decks and ruining bolts especially, and it doesn't matter whether they're philips, flatheads or hexes, they all get trashed 🙄

Ich benutze schon seit vielen Jahren Linsenkopfschrauben mit Flansch aus Edelstahl für fast alle Decks.
