she never encountered a fungus which grew from a biological organism dead or alive? the famous decomposers fungi? the things famous for growing out of both alive and dead organisms? really? you literally saw it growing out of a "log" when it was found and listed off two others that it is related to that to some degree do so. also, fungi are a different kingdom from plants
If you’re wondering how the Foundation deals with the fungus itself, read these paragraphs that I got from the article: Containment breaches within controlled environments will result in lockdown of affected area. Personnel within the affected area are to remain in place until cleared for release. Hazmat teams are to remove and examine personnel for signs of infection. Infected personnel are to be quarantined. Affected area is to then be sterilized. A 1km radius around any areas experiencing an outbreak of SCP-306 is to be quarantined. Areas are to have all water and sewer systems sealed. Hazmat teams are to be deployed in the area, and all persons in the quarantine zone are to be evacuated and screened for infection. Uninfected persons are to be released, with non-Foundation employees administered Class B amnestics. Infected persons are to be terminated. Following completed evacuation, enclosed areas are to be sterilized with ethylene oxide. In unenclosed areas, controlled burning, followed by a ground sweep, are to be enacted. Wetlands harboring SCP-306 are to be impounded, filled, and sealed with concrete. Preventing SCP-306 from infecting any large body of water is an Alpha-class priority.

Her botanical expertise was second to none? I'm not an expert in botanical or a doctor or something like that, but I know some fungi does grow on another organism. For example, Cordyceps sinensis does actually grow on insects. It parasitizes the larvae of ghost moths, and eventually grows from the head of a dead caterpillar high in the Himalayan mountains. That's why it is sometimes referred to as the “Caterpillar fungus. And there's also a fungus that turns ants into zombies.
Can fungus grow on living things? Fungal hyphae, although microscopic, allow for the rapid flow of nutrients and small molecules across the fungal body. Many fungi create networks of these hyphae into a mass called a mycelium. The mycelium can grow on a surface, in soil or decaying material, in a liquid, or even on living tissue.
Great Vid. Kate did double Security violation. First, wear FFP2 masks dense enough not to allow 608 spores inside. Second, immediatly warn your collegues in the lab via phone as soon as she predicted the fungus is the cause of invection. If there is an potential Bio-Safety-Risk detected, everyone working in the lab needs to be warned not to come into contact with the fungus, but store it in BSL3 bio-hazard conditions.
What would happen if you put one of these frogs on the setting “fine”? Would it change them back into a human form? On the setting “1 to 1” would it put their consciousness into another creature? If that we’re the case you could just keep rerolling until you got something more workable. Also, there are loads of anomalies known to cure diseases. Do any of them work on this fungus?

I’m sorry, but as a medical professional who works in a lab. I can’t get into this story. I mean, a professional scientist, a unknown Fungi attached to a animal, she breaches containment and gets exposed. to be fair: she clearly lives alone and as an scp member, I doubt her coworkers would call the police in case anything anomalous happened.
Im sorry, but this scp turns humans into frogs yet that is the unbelievable part?
She wasn't an scp researcher. She just worked at a genetics lab. Not sure why the sample was brought into her specifically, most corporate labs don't just look at random things. Could be doing something something on a grant with a college or something I suppose.
@Dominic Sommer She’s not SCP, she works as a Geneticist.
It is pretty out there. She's not even researching in her own field since she has a doctorate in botany, not mycology.

If you’re wondering how the Foundation deals with the fungus itself, read these paragraphs that I got from the article:
Containment breaches within controlled environments will result in lockdown of affected area.
I’m pretty sure that if she was a real scientist and had the degrees necessary that she’d know to wear full body PPE tyvek suit and personal o2 supply

Love the amazing content and narration, keep up the amazing videos :D

Why would a professional do nothing about an onset of severe medical symptoms after an exposure to an unknown fungus species? Seems like a pretty dumb idea to me.
I thought the same, but apparently it's a common phenomenon that medical personnel both subconsciously and purposefully downplay their condition and ignore the severity of symptoms.
