- SCP 377 is Safe Class anomaly also known as Accurate Fortune Cookies.
SCP-377 is a box of La Choy brand fortune cookies. The box restocks itself regularly every 12 hours.
The "fortunes" contained within SCP377 are not consistent with those provided by the standard product. "Fortunes" appear to be specific to the individual opening the cookie and have thus far shown to be 100% accurate, ranging from vague indications of coming success to specific predictions regarding personnel's personal lives. The "fortunes" are not, however, always positive.

What you should do is to look both ways before crossing the street, regardless of what the cookie tells you.

If you know you are going to be hit by a car, get an excellent insurance: both health and life insurance: If telling the future was real, the best way to act, is to get ready for the incident that has been predicted. Wear a helmet and protective clothing. Have ambulance on speed dial. Attach yourself to a friend, preferably one who knows first aid, so that someone you trust will be around when the accident occurs. Get the same camera that is made as the police wear: Have it on constantly, so you get whoever hit you on video.

What's interesting is if he was smart enough to understand to "look both ways" he wouldn't have gotten that prediction in the first place. What's really interesting is if he had looked both ways it doesn't mean the fortune was "wrong" right? it was just advise.

Plus the Babylon Bee has had some funny articles which ended up becoming reality sometime later. And it's Christian satire. I highly doubt they got SCP-377's assistance for that.
The Simpsons never predicted anything. Our world has just gone down a path where it's essentially a satirical comedy for any 3rd party audience.

I had something like this actually happen. Obviously, it was sheer coincidence, but the timing was perfect. I had interviewed for a job and thought I'd messed it up. My fortune cookie said "a golden opportunity will come your way". The most generic fortune ever, right? The following day, I received a call informing me I had the job.
The name of the company? "Golden Charter".
I think I still have that little slip of paper somewhere...🤣🤣🤣

I love this channel. I can read horror storys but I can't watch them usually because the visuals are terrifying but the simplistic cartoon look of this channel make it so I can watch with out being scared

Pretty surprising they have such a dangerous anomaly in the break room. Like yeah open it and you might become the head of the 0-5 or at least become a site administrator but it can also predict your death to the Old Man or Ferdinand the Cannibal.
Like they're ok to actually have their own personal betting their fates.
It's only "dangerous" if you think the fortunes CAUSE the future. Personally I think they just predict and the future will happen anyway.
I really like this story because whether he looked both ways or not wasn't really indicative of his fortune being wrong or right. It was advice. All 3 were just advice. They could control what they were doing. If she "didnt leave a light on" she just wouldn't have gotten the good outcome right? If he didn't buy the ticket and "trust his instincts" he wouldn't have won right? So it stands to reason he could have "not died" if he just made sure for... uh... forever to look both ways when crossing the street lol.
I’m just confused as to how he didn’t get what “look both ways” meant. Like, the sentence finishes itself in your head if you’ve heard it enough, so you have to assume that it was just a really bad case of his obsession and stubbornness blinding him to the base message

If you're still doing crossover episodes in the future, I wouldn't mind seeing SCP-173 getting it's concrete rebar butt kicked by Toph Beifong from Avatar The Last Airbender. Elephant in the room yes, she's technically blind, but she would be able to tell where SCP-173 is even from miles away like she did when Azula and her squad were hunting them though her Earth bending abilities known as "seismic sense". She could even sense every ant meters away from her. She's also strong enough to prevent a giant library from sinking long enough for her friends to escape. Given her ability to bend metal as well as Earth, SCP-173 would most likely end up completely compressed on a molecular level into a tiny ball before it's able to get within a meter of her.
Smart, but wouldn't she die almost instantly?

@@o5councilmember736 Given that she'd notice SCP-173 long before SCP-173 would even notice her, she'd have enough time to notice how fast it can move, and gain control of it's own body the instant it gets within range. Don't forget it's made entirely of what she controls.
Actually, that brings up an interesting question: if scp 173 is frozen from direct observation, a blind person would be unable to freeze it, but what about toph, who, despite being blind, would still be able to observe its exact position and movements? Would it still count? Would her geo-radar be enough to stop it? If not, At the very least, it would give new insight into how 173 moves.

I knew an airline pilot who had an unfortunate encounter with SCP-377. And it was defiantly a case of reading the fortune made it come true.
His fortune was, "You will die in a plane crash on May 5th.
Just to be safe he called in sick on may 5th. The airplane he would have flown that day was assigned a different pilot and, though he never learned this fact, it flew safely to it's destination without the slightest hint of a problem.
He never learned about the safe flight because, just as he was sitting down to lunch a different airplane from a different airline crashed into his house and he, along with everyone on that plane was killed instantly.
Had he gone to work that day he would have been thousands of miles away when the crash happened. He would have learned that his house had been destroyed but he would have been fine.
At least he didn't have to buy a new house and buy new stuff to put inside it.

My belief in fortune cookies, star signs, etc, follows the saying "a broken clock is correct twice a day". Its fun to read and fun to find stuff that relates to you and feels true, but there's no magic or mystery behind it. It just happens sometimes.
I read my transit chart every month. It's been helpful in developing better habits like exercising and quitting smoking
Things Dr. Bright is not allowed to do in the foundation: Dr. Bright is not allowed to use scp-377 to predict the following:
-The winning lotto numbers
-find out any scp's information that are anti memetic or infohazards
-Anyone's phone number, address, bank details, etc...
-Any pirate treasure, location of a missing sock or nerf dart.
You know what, just keep Dr. Bright away from this anomaly.
Look both ways could have also meant for him to look on the bright side instead of just the negative.

No, SCP-377 cannot predict if/when/how SCP-682 will be destroyed. It did, however, successfully predict that 682 would win $10,000. We're not sure how this happened either.
Well since Joey wasn't a betting guy, and influenced him to buy a ticket I'd say that they make the prediction come true or they were destined to be opened in the grand scheme of things

I had a very accurate fortune cookie once. It was a Friday and a made a major mistake at work that cost a few hundred dollars in material and a day's labor. Work didn't take anything out of my paycheck, even though the mistake was totally my fault, but I still felt bad about it.
My boss made me feel a bit better by saying, "If you don't make any mistakes, you are not doing anything worthwhile."
That night I had a date and I took her to PF Chang's. I can't remember what I ate for dinner but I remember my fortune cookie, "If you don't make any mistakes, you are not doing anything worthwhile."

Not that you speak a different language or that you're blind or whatever, but more like you have a mental condition or are illiterate.
Will the fortune be written in a way that you can understand? I know some other SCP's that involve reading or communicating adapts for the individual(s).
I would have been a bit bashful, but very happy if someone wanted to lift my spirits by surprising me with a nice meal. That's a very kind thing to do.

This episode reminds me of an episode of the TWILIGHT ZONE. Not the original first filmed in the late 1950s but the remake filmed in the mid 1980s, in color instead of black and white. The episode was called THE MISFORTUNE COOKEY and it was about a guy who kept eating in the same Chinese Restaurant and every fortune came true and they were all GOOD. He got a girlfriend, a promotion at work. His life just kept getting better and better. But then near the end of the episode his fortune said "You are about to die". In a panic he ran out of the restaurant and got hit by a car and killed much like the poor guy in this story. I wonder if the writer of this story saw that Twilight Zone episode?
