I have seen U2 three times and it’s always the same. U2 makes their entrance, the crowd stands up and no one sits down until it’s over. U2 crowds sing every song in their entirety. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life and I have been to a lot of concerts. A U2 show is an experience! There’s just no way to explain it to anyone else, you have to be there to know.
I concur 😂. Have seen them 16 times *lol*. For me only Nightwish and DM are the same level of emotion.

I've got goosebumps watching this........and I went to the concert in Sydney back then....Truly great band of All time
Larry, the drummer, will do supporting vocals on select songs. you will see him randomly mic’d up. in early years (early 80’s) he would have someone there swinging a mic around to him at times to lend backing vocals
11 year old me is somewhere in this crowd while 30 year old me is watching you watch this 19 years later

They have always been a great live band. Their rhythm section with Adam (Bass) and Larry on drums is always on point and The Edge always throws in a change-up with guitar parts in their live performances. Surprise is the essence of great music; they always do that in their live performances.

I was there! Chicago 2005 for the Vertigo Tour! Might not have been this performance; they did 4 nights in a row. But I was at one of them! 🙂

I loved U2 during their experimental era, (91-97) and they still have their good moments, clearly they are not the same, but every fan knows how to enjoy their band even at their worst, in 2005 they were great although frankly this version of Elevation is not my favorite, anyway guys, great reaction, thank you for appreciating good music in general, and for not being sectarian with your preferences

Larry (the drummer) is actually a good singer. Not at Edge's level or Bono's in particular, but yeah he can carry a tune. His "Dirty Old Town" is pretty good, even though he's trying a little too hard to sound like Shane McGowan for it.
Not the best version. Who is the person suggesting stuff to you guys? They seem to always go for the changed arrangement version. The versions from the Elevation Tour Boston or Slane Castle are better.
Elevation during Vertigo in Milan is great too.
I agree with Milan. Italians are U2 crazy. But so is Chicago. I really love this version. The delayed beginning gets all that crowd energy pent up. Beautiful

Correct, he doesn't, he's having a bit of a sing a long here like many group members might do occasionally, but he's not actually singing backing vocals.
Steve Harris of Iron Maiden often sings along to himself without a mic, and why not? there his lyrics after all
