Love U2! My wife and went to see them at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium for her birthday. I had made a ton of phone calls trying to have a birthday wish for her on the big video screen or something memorable! The concert was on her exact birthday,. I tried and tried, but kept getting "no" for an answer. Both of us excited just to be there, then it happened... Bono stops in the middle a song and says, "I understand someone here is having a birthday... Andrea, where you?" My wife is LOSING HER MIND and jumpsup & down screaming, 'OVER HERE!!&! People started pointing in her direction, Bono sees her and says,"HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE!" and throws a kiss her way! Both of us were freaking out!!&! It was an AWESOME show and when we got home... I got ... well, I ain't gonna say... but IT WAS DIVINE!!&! 🥰

Beatles, Rolling Stones and U2 are probably the "big 3" bands ever. Not just because they wrote hits, but also were artistic. Just so many great songs and really experimented and never went stale or just rode the same type of music into the ground. I love groups like Def Leppard and AC/DC too, but they really never stray from their thing. U2 always took chances. They do electronic, trip hop, ballads, rock, everything.

I wish you really understood The Beatles' influence better and how a new Beatles single would top the charts and dominate AM radio for weeks on end every couple of months for almost a decade. Literally ALL of your favorite 60s and 70s acts credit The Beatles for inspiring them. No joke!

I rarely comment, but since you both love U2 and Bono’s voice, I recommend “Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own” from the same album as Vertigo. It’s Bono’s song to his father who died from cancer and really shows his powerful emotional range. And as a dad and son, you can’t help but get chocked up hearing it. If you don’t play it on the channel, give it a go on your own private time, it’s really meaningful and won’t disappoint

It's one of their earlier songs - 1984 - but it was one that I think definitely cemented their widespread success. Certainly made its mark on me at the time. This song is instantly identifiable by its intro, where Bono says "Uno, dos, tres, catorce," which is "1, 2, 3, 14" in Spanish. One theory is that Bono was directing listeners to The Bible: 1st Testament, 2nd Book, 3rd Chapter, 14th verse - "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." The bridge, where Bono sings, "All of this can be yours," represents a temptation by the devil. After the line, "Just give me what I want and no one gets hurt," the song screeches to a halt and then the chorus kicks back in. "To be a man of the world but not this one is, I guess, the idea behind the song," Bono wrote in his memoir Surrender. "You get the sense that the singer is not sure if that's possible but he's gonna try as hard as hell. In the end it's the bass that offers the devil denial, the bass that offers the great f off.'"

You see a rather different U2 when they're live - particularly their older music. They were so earnest and full of energy and wore their hearts on their sleeves. The live versions of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" from "Under a Blood Red Sky" and "Rattle & Hum" are incredible contrasts. Go LIVE!

You HAVE to do “Bad (Live Aid 1985)”. One of the most iconic live performances, and a signature moment for U2. It helped propel them to one of the biggest acts in music. Incredible performance, which also features snippets of Lou Reed & The Rolling Stones!

Awesome is the word, about time you hit this great band again, great choice! They have many killer harder rock tunes, their Achtung Baby was a landmark album with heavy hits like The End of the World, The Fly and Acrobat, those guys could flat out rock, I was lucky to see them several times, including the Vertigo Tour. Whether in a Stadium or Arena, there was no bigger production nor anticipation when the lights went out, time for some chills. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

Having this in mind, I suggest that you react to: "Pride (in the name of love)"; "New Year's Day"; "With or without you"; "I still haven't found what I'm looking for"; "Beautiful day".

This is one of my favorite songs by U2. They are hands down the best rock group on the planet imho! I’ve seen them a few times in concert and they killed it every single time! Bono is a wonderful humanitarian as well. U2 performed at Pres Obama’s first inauguration and they were amazing. Great song to react to! I hope y’all will consider listening to (Pride) In the Name of Love. They wrote it as a tribute to Dr King and it was a massive hit.

If you want to hear U2’s lead singer’s best vocal performance ever , try ‘In A Lifetime ‘ by Clannad feat Bono. He teams up with this Irish folk band and his duet with Enya’s older sister lead singer Moyà Brennan in a hauntingly beautiful song that will resonate with you for a long time .
