    I am doing the S197 (2007) and it has the 3650 stock. The 2013 Gen 1 I got came with the MT82, the tail shaft flange to driveshaft is different from the 3650, therefore the driveshaft will not fit and from my understanding the drive shafts are different lengths. I saw that you mention you reused your transmission, was it a 3650 or an MT82? What clutch did you go with? I know this is an old video, but have you heard of and options for the trans issue? Thanks.

    You can do a roots supercharger, there are 2 nipples on the timing cover that would need to be removed for the belt routing. Also, if you want to, you can through some Boss cams in there. If memory serves me right, it is the intake cam that is different on the Boss and the exhaust cam is shared with the GT. Also, I believe, as you said, you have more room for growth if you decide to boost the engine later on as the Boss internals were the same internals used on the F-150. At least, after the Gen 2 coyote was released, the part numbers for the Boss rodswere revised and were called F-150 rods. You should be good up to 825 with that motor compared to the GT which is something in the 650 range if memory serves me right. Its been probably 5 years since I built my All Motor Boss, so the details may be slightly off, but at least it would give you a nice starting point for some research.

    The Gen 1 F150 intake cams stop making power after 6200-6500, so unless you plan on putting mustang cams in it, that 2018 intake manifold is actually costing you power. Your only options are used mustang intake cams, L&M intake only set, or Comp Cams. MMR also makes cams for gen 1 as well. The exhaust cams on the gen 1 F150 coyote are the same as the Mustang intake cams.
    With the right cams, the 18 manifold is a close second after the Cobra Jet, but without the $2,000+ price tag. It will make power up to 8000 RPM just like the CJ

      @@thaieralawadh2223 true but in order to fit the coyote you'll need a new front end to delete the shock towers and create new trans tunnel depending on the trans u use which would be atleast be around 4k plus the coyote and trans is about 6k-8k used then all the other stuff electronics and whatnot to get it running your looking at atleast 15k and thats doing everything yourself... for that u can buy a built crate motor specific to your car and make 600hp all motor and be ready for boost for more power plug and play of course you'll still need to upgrade fuel system and some wiring but thats something you'll need even if u go 5.0

  • @HOOK3RBEAR

    I find your swap pretty interesting.
    Most of your minor qualms come from the way you chose to execute your swap.
    I Coyote swapped an '06 V6 car from a wrecked 2012 GT but used the entire car. The swap involved swapping all of the wiring, dash, door panels, power window motors, door latches, windshield washer motors, fuel tank and fuel lines, brake lines, and everything. It's basically a 2012 with 2006 body panels.
    Using this method is a bit more labor intensive, but yields a pretty polished result with a few minor exceptions. Those being, figuring out how you want to mount your exhaust (like if you use early or late S197, since the mounting points are a little different), the e-brake handles are in different places so you have to deal with it or swap it, and at least in my case, the rear had to be swapped to an 8.8".
    Either way though, you swap is super cool and very clean. Nice work!

  • @DJDinaggio
    @DJDinaggio 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    If you have a strong, healthy 4.6 3V engine there's absolutely no point in doing a Coyote swap. Just adding a CAI, CMDPs, UDPs, LT headers/midpipe, 127200 Stage 2 NSR cams, and tune will get you to ~350rwhp which is only ~20rwhp short of a stock '11-'14 Coyote 5.0. It'll cost you ~$3,500 in parts which is a lot less than the $10,000+ parts cost of a Mustang Coyote swap.
    The Gen 2 S550 Coyote engine from '15-'17 is currently the best for a swap as it already has the uprated heads/cams, forged crank, and forged connecting rods from the Boss 302. This is a parts list that I've drafted for a '15-'17 S550 Coyote swap into an '05-'10 GT with a TR3650 manual transmission:
    • Used ‘15-‘17 GT engine
    • Control Pack: M-6017-504V ‘15-‘17 GT w/ Manual Transmission
    • PBH N/A Coyote Swap Accessory Drive bracket kit: COY-ENG-BRKT
    • PBH '11+ Coyote Alternator kit: SWAP-ALT-SC (if not included with engine)
    • PBH Dakota Digital Speedometer Signal Interface: PCP-SPEEDO
    • PBH Coyote Swap Fuel System: PBH-FSS197
    • ’11-’14 GT Kooks 1-3/4" Long tube Headers & Midpipe
    • ’11-’14 GT Catbacks (need to swap hangers from '05-'10 GT)
    • ’11-’14 GT Right Hand Heater Hose: BR3Z18472B (if not included with engine)
    • ’11-’14 GT Left Hand Heater Hose: BR3Z18472D (if not included with engine)
    • ’11-’14 GT Upper Radiator Hose: BR3Z8260BA
    • '11-'14 GT Lower Radiator Hose: KM-5136
    • Ford Performance Roller Pilot Bearing: M-7600-B
    The accessory drive bracket kit will allow you to retain the existing '05-'10 PS pump & AC compressor in their stock locations.

    @Phantom096 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you are looking to upgrade the 4.6 3 valve the best in my opinion is the Procharger or centrifugal style.
    Second Roush twin screw or VMP. Still plenty of support from Roush and VMP for these cars.
    Third twin or single turbo. The bad added weight from plumbing and high maintenance of turbo system and parts.
    The rest have moved on to the 5.0 and no longer support these engines.

      Same. I don't care about having the most power. I'm not racing you because I'm not trying to get arrested nor lose my career. But I can still be happy with my boltons because the car is still quick and super aggressive. After headers, Cai, exhaust, and tune + aero mods, the car turns heads and feels good driving. That's all that matters. Plus, the 3V, esp when modded sounds so aggressive that it scares other cars from even lining up with you at a stoplight

    With (much) more research BEFORE starting/committing, you could have found answers to all of those problems. Furthermore, I see guys wanting to do a F150 coyote swap all the time. That's just a bad idea from the start because THEN you have to replace the cams, intake, injectors and throttle body just to make it a "mustang" engine. Get the right engine up front. Period. It will cost less down the road.
    I've been a Mustang guy since the early 70's. Back in the day, we could swap drive trains between two cars and drive each vehicle away in less than eight hours. No computers to mess with, and none of the "integrated" systems got in the way.
    I converted my 2012 V6/automatic to a blown 427 Windsor/Tremec 6-spd. Not to put too fine a point on it, but It was f*ckin expensive. I lost some OEM stuff in the process, but I don't care, and I knew it was going to happen, because I researched for two years before I bought the first part.
    My best advice is that once you commit to the swap, don't start making a list of shit you hate about it. That's the biggest enthusiasm killer I can think of. At that point, you may as well just have bought a Coyote car to begin with. I can commiserate, but you knew the job was dangerous when you started. :)
