    Nice video, it was a challenge and i like challenges :), one of the comments was right, don't heat pmic with heat gun cpu is on the other side and on the 6s it offten shorts, next time use iron with big tip and add solder then lift it the same way you did. Good luck for the next one ;)

      I hope not to have to replace pmic ever again ;) But thank you.

    Thank for the video. But do you remove C2103 and FL4620(and after it), L5408_RF(and after it), C3008 or even U3000? - its all on this line. And there is a reason to put 3V on this line and see what is heating up of this componets.

    You should have removed the CPU shield from the other side to let the hot air flow.

    Hi have you ever come across iPhone 7 where the touch wasn’t working at all? The phone had boot-loop, I replaced the audio IC, made jumpers and put a UV mask, the phone switches on but it doesn’t have any touch ( I have tried a know good lcd). I don’t know if it’s related to the audio Ic replacement because the phone wouldn’t switch on before the repair..

    I ended up with a similar board malfunction on my behalf. My goal was to unscrew the logic board and test it with a new battery since the battery it came with is stuck to the logic board I thought gee, its easier to remove the logic board, I didn’t do it on a ESD surface it was on my bed. and when I connected to logic board to a working battery I forgot to reconnect the power button connector sleep/wake button. I only connected the battery D.C. connector. I’m afraid that I did something really bad to the LB, the smoke came from the front of the logic board under the top metal heat shield cover plate. Not the bottom of mother board with sticky heat shield stickers. There was no sign of water damage, I should’ve took a picture of the mother board before I worked on it to have a record of working components from the before and after the smoke appeared. Did I mess up because I failed to connect the power, sleep/wake button connector to the mother board after I had connected the battery D.C. connector to board?

      I think the lcd wasn't connected right and it was the fuse blowing up.

      @@scoopof3d could you elaborate since we are here. I called repair shops but they would look at the board. I asked if they could let me know which parts went bad. But they denied me.

    imgur.com/gallery/ULLRoNA lots of missing pads when I used the hot air gun to lift off the old pmic. When I lay the new one down and use hot air to it, will that flow down and create a working circuit or is this board done for?

      Też się zastanawiałem dlaczego nie ma ochrony CPU. Być może, że w przypadku gdy na procesorze wciąż jest blaszka a pod nią pasta termoprzewodząca, wtedy nie potrzeba dodatkowej ochrony?

    Hi, sorry to say this just like a big brother do not share faulty information ! but what I really like about your try is disconecting the PP3V0_TRISTAR connection between Tristar & PMIC ! I like this Idea but all your steps were not true and wish you best of luck trying to get it OFF DFU mode and make it boot again sorry to the dislike ! (I like the cutting idea) !

    • @kentking9886
      @kentking9886 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not say FAKE ! I said "Faulty" I mean "misguided" how could it be true to apply 400c to a PMIC underneath it CPU ! that's what I mean is not true your overheat killed CPU I wish you can show us the device working with LCD for at least 10 minutes (I do not mean any harm) but I need to see it works that's all as I said before I extremely like cutting trace idea it's just awesome!

      The video shows the phone not working. I never said it worked. 3v0 tristar had 3V again, but the phone didn't boot or wasn't recognized by itunes. I run hot air at 370.
