My lawnmower is a Masport with a B n S motor . It sat in my shed for over 12 years not used. Gave it some fresh Mobil petrol, roughed up the spark plug on the concrete driveway . after about 5 good pulls she fired up all good indeed . B n S are great engines indeed
Really cool man! Good luck. Would definitely recommend a torque converter, I ended up putting it on my off road go kart, and a clutch and chain just don't cut it
Needs some work like new coil and a new pull start the factory gas tank was really rusty but some vinegar can help that other than that its a good engine
@@DonovanBryant92 Pull start recoils are so hard to find for this engine. Mine is electric start. It was cheaper to wire up an entire harness and lights with push button start than it was to get a recoil Lol
@@chauvinsgarage1515 well one issue is that the pull start itself wont come off the shroud cover which means it could overheat without it if i could get that thing off and use one of my thousands of other tanks that engine might just start chugging away i was thinking of starting it by just wrapping a rope around the flywheel lol
@@tunturimies84 I actually had it on a go kart before I sold it, They are badass motors when fixed up. Mine was fully loaded with electric start and a charging system for running lights and charging a battery. I'd have to send you pics on what it looked like when I had it restored
@@chauvinsgarage1515 nice👌🏻 hey btw can you help me a bit? I started the lawnmower and after 10 minutes of adjusting i noticed the exhaust was RED HOT i got so scared i took the spark plug wire off (which was the nearest shut-off system, and the exhaust caught on fire but immediately the fire was gone, i saw 1 flame and then it started to cool down, please help me if you can!
Theyre always jumpy like this or was this one still needing some tune up? Got an 82 on my welder Im fixing up and it shakes and smokes more than my grandpa
