Finally have finished the hyperfox build, I purchased this kart a few months ago and completely overhauled it. Welded a Whole new floor in as the old floor was rusted out Also converted it from a small 2 seater to a large single seater by cutting custom boards and covering the seat, As well as cutting and re welding the steering to the Center of the kart and making custom tie rods Powered by a ...

Super Clean! Im doing a 5.4 to 7.3 I hope to have mine look and sound that good when its all said and done.
Only difference is im swapping the auto that was in the truck for a zf6
Truck is super nice now but that grill gaurd doesn’t look good it’s for a newer ford
Great video! Really appreciate the detailed walkthrough. One question, after doing this do you see any challenges in mounting an EV motor to the front axle transfer case? I’m looking to have two seperate drivetrains, and add a second alternator for powering EV batteries. Not looking for crazy range, just hoping to have 4WD capability, onboard power, and (fingers crossed) regenerative braking.
What did you do to raise the rear end?
Por que cascabelea o bibra mucho
Looks like you nailed it
My father had one of these on a tiller. White paint.
The plate for the t case lever 1 bolt you said was t50 what size it the other bolt
$200 for a bracket?
Hey Luke, I watched your conversion videos and I must say it’s the best conversion process I have seen so far. What made it so impressive is your ability to explain technical procedures and knowledge of subject matter. You’re great and I suspect a good human being too.
The trust it takes to have a axle sitting on plastic sawhorses 😂
Damn
What years are compatible for this conversion? For example, can 2008 parts be used on a 2000?
before you changed the rear driveshaft and transfer case did you have to installed the driveshaft carrier bearing drop bracket?
sounds like a 3 cylinder for some reason
My dad has a 99 super duty with only 120k on it. I’ve been trying to talk him into doing this but he says it’s too much work. I wonder what someone would charge for said work 🤔
To do the whole thing properly it's closer to the 10k point , Transmission and all parts included. I did one not too long ago, I have all the parts in stock
@@chauvinsgarage1515 that’s awesome. I might have to hit you up one day
I have an 2002 ford excursion 5.4 would this set up work as well
Absolutely! I just did a Excursion for a customer the same way
What rear springs? Lift or stock?
You did an awesome job. I have a 2001 7.3 6 speed manual. Are there major differences when installing the transfer case?
No major differences at all! Just gotta change the output shaft and extension housing for the transmission and you're all set
@@chauvinsgarage1515 Thank you!
Hey I know this is a longshot but do you still have the 7.3L bracket? I did the opposite of what you did haha.
How much was the overall cost on this
Or a parts list🙏
So the 7.3 does have 2 different cross members..1 for 2wd and a different one for 4wd ..correct?
So after doing a lot of research and going to Junk yards there is only 2 cross members total, the 7.3, 6.8 and 5.4 all share the same ones, There is a 2wd member, 4x4 member. So it don't matter what engine you have, They all share the same 4x4 cross member
@@chauvinsgarage1515 Thanks. My 4x4 diesel donnor truck didn’t have cross member, rear driveshaft, hanger bearing. Is the rear hanger bracket CROSSMEMBER different on my F350 2WD diesel compared to a 4WD hanger bracket CROSSMEMBER? BTW your video on this project is terrific. Thanks
@nitroitch The rear Hanger is gonna be the same as the F250s They all use the same ones all the way up to a F550, The only thing that is tricky to find is the correct Carrier bearing hanger for the drive shaft, There's multiple ones depending on what wheelbase you have
How much did you lift the rear?
i could barely hear you.
It's amazing how loud the sound of the flywheel fins is on these old flat heads, it used to be normal to be but now I'm like wow
wow thats awesome, im thinking of converting my 2017 model but I dont have tools or space or friends with those resources. thinking about paying for it at a shop but im afraid they wont use oem parts
Going through all the trouble, why not upgrade to the 05-07 axles. Way better ride, better turning radius, better axles. At least get you some solastic shackles. They drastically improve the ride.
Great video, i am going to bypass the ESOF on my 03 Excursion to manual with NP273. Is that a ford shifter setup? Do you have part number? Thank you
Gas 6.8 and 2wd should of just sold it and bought a 4x4 7.3
Whats the fun in that 😎 also Try and find one that color
Best video iv seen on this 💯💯💯😎 very detailed video and informative content by far
Very good video. I like how you explain step by step. You are the best on how to teach a four wheel conversion. 😂
And also my next question. What more are you gonna do to that truck? I would love to see more videos on that truck.
I really like the bill. And how much are you gonna be selling that truck? For a minute ago I thought it was a diesel. But I see it's a gas truck.
Nice work on the video! I have seen several other videos where if you use 2005 and up (not sure how far up you can go probably 2008) front axle you can keep the coil spring suspension and I believe it's an even easier swap.
My truck is already 4x4, but I still learned a ton of information in this video 👍 thanks
Great video! Did this same process on a OBS F350 and the super duty seems like a better way to go since the frames are the same. Had to drill a ton of holes for my conversion.
👍
Well thought video dude. Im doing a '02 4WD F250 getting '01 2WD F550 frame and rear diff. I hear the front diff out of the 250 is the same Dana as what F550 (4WD) would've had. Thanks again bud.
Thank you sir, appreciate it, Yes the dana 60 will fit from a 250 to a 550, The only difference is the gear ratio. For example the f250s are a dana 60 3.73 gears. My 2001 F450 is a dana 60 4.88 gears, As long as you re gear your front axle to match your rear you'll have no issues
Coil spring from 05-07 woulda made more sense. Same amount of work
In not entirely sure if the Track bar brackets and coil spring buckets are a direct bolt on application like the leaf spring set up, It's possible though
how long would you say this took you? im getting ready to do the same thing but im going to do it at my job on a friday and work through the weekend, im also interested in the wheel speed sensors if the 4wd speed sensors are the same as the 2wd?
It's a fairly simple job to convert the front end if you have all the parts ready to go and the right tools to make it easier such as air tools, a grinder, floor Jack's etc. I had the front end swapped out in 2 10 hour days by myself in the driveway. As far as wheel speed sensors there is only 1 speed sensor on the rear diffrential, I think you are Referring to the Tone Ring sensors for the ABS that plug in behind the fender wells, They are exactly the same as the 2wd, Simply plug them in and the system works perfectly fine
@@chauvinsgarage1515 That awesome news because my job slows down around the holidays and now's the time, Thank you very much
@elitesbeast9183 absolutely, Good luck with your build and feel free to ask any questions along the way, You can reach me at lukechauvin03@gmail.com
Do you know if the wiring and relays are in for a 273 TC? I’m doing this now but have two lariat trucks to work with so have the electric TC. Thx.
I'm not very familiar with the electrical Diagram for the Np273 cases, I would read your owners manual because there is 1 fuse for the 4x4 shift relay, Aside from that it might be plug and play and a matter of installing the harness, I went with the manual shift for simplicity, Best of luck to you
it would be a good show if we could hear what you say, the music is loud
Agreed, We got audio more dialed in during the 2nd video
Thank you for this video. I just finished with my swap. Thanks to this video, you're awesome 👌
How much did cost all?
Were did you buy all part to convert into 4x4
great video
If you still have the radios arms I’ll pay you greatly I need them so bad right now my truck just got bent up and need headlights and a fender awesome videos and great information also the coil spring buckets need them so desperately there in great shape
This turned out amazing. Do you know if the same straightforward swap would work for the later trucks? Say the ‘11-16 years?
I'm not too sure to tell you the truth, I would have to look and see how the frame is made
@@chauvinsgarage1515 I was looking at a ‘16 2wd truck, but I decided not to get it. No worries. Thanks!
@@chauvinsgarage1515 I think it’s probably electronic selection for 4wd anyway. Might involve a lot more work.
Check frame part #'s
Did you get those front spring hangers off a cab and chassis I’ve never seen that style?
There are 2 different ones, It depends on if you have a dana 50 or dana 60 front axle. Dana 60 being more heavy duty. Either one bolts up exactly the same with the exception of a couple different brackets and hardware for the front bumper
Hats off to you! Beautiful truck!
