The best thing about the chikuni, Chinese mikuni, carbs is if you mess them up they're cheap to replace. If you have to replace it I recommend you use a real mikuni or at the very least, a Nibbi which is just a better clone of the mikuni. Glad to see you took our advice about the carb swap. Btw, you can mod your old throttle controller as a choke lever so you don't burn yourself on the exhaust.

@@1SmittysGarage Mikuni did also make a pull knob choke for some of their carbs as well as cable pull models. I'm sure they can be found on ebay and can be installed in place of the lever choke,. Heck, you could probably just put a knob on the choke shaft if so desired. ---- Cant wait until the stage II mods of this machine Dave!
to stop the oil smoke take off the head pull out the cranksharft and hone the bore and put in new rings and lap the valves too there should be no scoring in that cylinder at all which there is i saw it appart last video or 2 ago .. you will have to fix it otherwise in time it will lock up on you.

@@minibikecustoms870 if it's an OHV engine, could be the compression relief valve failing. Mine kicked back hard at first but between the electronic ignition, mikuni swap and pulse pump it's no where near as bad.
Did you pin the governor arm in place? I’m putting a vm22 carb on my 8hp flathead and I’m afraid the governor arm will just bounce around destroy the engine.

Yeah man ain't nuthin like a torque converter, they sure beat them old centrifical clutch. Back when I was a kid that's all we had was them cent. Clutch's, me and my brother sure went through enough of those, we had some wicked minibikes for the time, early to mid 70's, then we graduated to motorcycles but I still liked the minibikes from time to time. Anywho, good deal son, good deal! Oh, and just subbed ya too.

@@SpACeCruizeR2o3 I'm not quite sure. If I remember correctly the Motovox and DB30's has a slightly narrower fork width as compared to the MB2 and Baja Warrior's. If it does, it'll be close. I think it'd be cool if it does!

Big Hoss is something else! It'll get away from you. I have a series on the 8hp Briggs flathead that leads up to swapping it out onto Big Hoss. I seen you have a chipper that your thinking of putting the motor on a mini bike or something. That'll be downright cool there! Blessings!
@1SmittysGarage I bought a 78 manco quester 308 3 wheeler idk if you seen it or not but it has 8hp briggs on it I took the throttle cable off and fit the life of me could not figure out how to hook it back up I'm swapping carb out to nibbi using original carb tube never seen it done before every one gets them tecumseh adapters I have a cple of them but want to try this i think you'll like it if it works
There Tecumseh intakes are great to boost power and adapt the more crisp motorcycle style VM carbs. What your thinking of doing sounds neat. Hope it works and I get to see it. Keep up the good work. Blessings and respect!

Ring kits are still available, definitely one day. On paint, still mixed as I dig the ratty vibes. Reckon only time will tell.

My buddy Ray has the same frame with a torque converter like yours , has a 5 hp honda & he weighs 150 & he runs 44 mph ,,,, lol he is scootn,,,,,
That's pretty impressive there! Definitely is faster than one might think, especially if your the one on it.
