    Important note:
    The gun was shooting 125m/s with .20
    Thats 410fps (ft/s)

      Hahah thanks buddy that answered lots of questions!

    • @mike_max
      @mike_max 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      my question is, why at 3:52 the chrono shows 0.45bb at 3.52j@125m/s for the top test? and 0.45bb at 1.36j@78m/s for the bottom test? or bullet weight setting for the chrono does not matter?

    • @-_Nuke_-
      @-_Nuke_- ปีที่แล้ว

      So a stock AEG shooting 400fps with 0.40 bbs will reach only 50 meters?
      How can we take such gun and make it shoot 70 meters? Or would that be just very hard and only snipers can shoot that far?

    • @diamondninja4938
      @diamondninja4938 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@-_Nuke_- a sniper with a higher cylinder volume (and longer barrel, ~420mm, higher will probably not make a difference) will take more advantage of the higher bb weight through joule creep. Thus a further range.

    • @-_Nuke_-
      @-_Nuke_- ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@diamondninja4938 yeah that's what I also think that its going on, barrel length and bore thickness are pretty much irrelevant, and more like marketing shcemes. The reality is - the more powerfull your gun is, the heavier the bb that it will be able to lift = further down range it can send it with a decent hop up unit.
      Therefore I can conclude that, barrel length, and bore wideness / narrowness are actually meaningless and irelevant and more like a marketing thing than anything more... If anything a tight bore like you said, will give you more fps thus will lift a heavier bb.
      But you can also get more fps but changing your spring - thus, really, all those things are meaningless when it comes to airsoft.
      My conclusion is that a "precision barrel" doesn't exist. They are all pretty much the same.

    important to note. Most sniper users do NOT use level hopup. Most including me overhop by a small amount, which makes it so the BB lifts around 60m and goes out to 80m then drops. On higher FPS or higher weight BBs (or both) Can go out to around 90m. I suggest doing this video again except with a properly tuned TAC41 or an SRSA2.

    這個影片做得太優質了吧,後面的彈著分析超屌,是說100米平飛是有點誇張,但是能拋物線100米倒是有可能,這個實驗固定的因素有3個:1.初速、2.射擊仰角、3.管皮,而變動因素就是彈重,光是其中一個應該就能拍一部片了吧,真的要交叉研究想到就覺得可怕,但若能做到4個因素最佳化,100米擊殺是指日可待

    The level of work and detail that has went into these videos is very impressive.
    I just went shooting my new LCT G3 and had a hard time hitting x2 2.5" metal targets and a water bottle at 220 feet ising .28g bbs. I ended up adjusting sights to be working around 100 feet accurately and the possibility of it going further with less accuracy.

    Perfect explanation, I have really enjoyed the video (keep it up!), I was just missing the link between momentum and kinetic energy to explain the relationship. It makes sense that lighter BBs go faster as they get out of the barrel but later on are more affected by external factors, while heavier BBs keep it a bit longer, therefore they show better consistency and grouping. However, the gun must be able to make them fly and that's not always the case, and it's also a way to prove that, if 2 guns shoot at the same kinetic energy (measured in Joules), the BB weight does not affect "how much pain" they inflict unless you measure it at a long range (where the heavier BBs keep momentum better). Good job guys, and I'm willing to see more and more from you. I have loved it.

    • @4UADSmartAirsoft
      @4UADSmartAirsoft  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks JT and sorry for the late reply. But ya what you just said is totally the case, it’s not heavier the better, a balance must be found on the gun, and talking about level of pain~I think that is a perfect mythbusting episode

    My silverback shoots a flat line to about 85 yards before dropping. That's how I set the hop on it and it tends to work well for accuracy. At my home field we use 3rd coast airsofts sniper limit of 3.6joules. my rifle shoots 375fps with a .48 at 3.15 joules +/-.05. It also is R-hopped and is equipped with a lambda 6.05 the barrel.

    That was one heck of a good video. Wish I could achieve this high quality so I could make proper video about my "DMR" Krytac and people wouldn't think it's impossible for a AEG with less than 2,5 joules to reach out and hit man sized target at actual 100 meters (and not airsoft-meters) :'P Ah, perhaps I'll try to remake that test one of these days...
    Anyway, this was very good info for people who are just getting into airsoft and are wondering what pros/cons there are with different weight BBs. Nicely done!

      @@4UADSmartAirsoft I have done some range testing. I have a krytac DMR, p* engine, I have 90 meters effective range with 0.43 g bbs on 2.3 joules. And with effective range I mean I aim at someones head, the bb flies straight and then make a small arch up to then fall down and hit them (body hit not head hit). I have gotten kills over 100 meters but then I aimed above the player I was trying to hit. Measurments made with laser range finder and google maps and seems to be accurate. Oh and nice video btw! :D

    I think you missed a few important things in this video aswell.
    Not every airsoft gun can shoot higher weight BBs effectively, and by that I am not only referring to joules, but still for anything higher than 0.35 you really need 2.5-3 joules, so basically spring action rifle only.
    But what also matters a lot with higher weights is actually the hop up, these are designed for specific ranges (among other things they have a angle on them specific to a fps and weight range).
    Meaning that even a 1000$ aeg with 2-2.5 joules can misbehave when firing above 0.3-0.35, because the hop up in it simply wasnt designed for that type of ammo and relative slow speed.
    Adjusting the hop up wont do anything about it, because its the geometry of the rubber that is important, so you have to actually also exchange the hop up rubber for pretty much all aegs even if they have enough power theoretically for high weights.
    Just as an example most hop up rubbers (sry for the term "rubbers", but I dont know what you call them in english) for mid/high end aegs are designed for 400-460ish fps.
    0.3 at 2 Joules shoots at around 360fps, 0.35++ is even much slower, so you see where the problem is.

      @4UADSmartAirsoft  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the really detailed comments man! much appreciated, the whole point is just to see how the gun performs under different weights of bbs, this way the views get a better idea what they are buying :D but still we will keep those suggestions in mind!

    So much work for a 10 min video, you guys are really something.
    I set up my guns to be on the verge of being overhopped, when the BB lifts up a little bit at the end of the flight path. This ensures max range but causes inconsistencies at long ranges, that small FPS inconsistency that a gun has is amplified at the end of the range. I will try to pull back a little and see how it goes, unfortunately I don't have access to a 70m corridor to make precise measurements.

    Great in-depth video! Finally somebody who does it right instead of just talking random stuff without proof.
    Do I understand correctly that during testing and in between weights, the hopup was not adjusted to counter the heavier BB’s?
    I’m playing for 12 years now, did tech work for my friends and team, but stopped doing it. The last few years I settled down on TM CQBR with .30gr BB’s and that setup is amazing. It’s not the best in terms of absolute range, but the range it gets (45-55m) is damn accurate. That’s what I want and expect. Point, shoot and kill! No guessing, single shot kills is our motto within the team.

    • @4UADSmartAirsoft
      @4UADSmartAirsoft  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey buddy thanks for the support! And yes the hop up was adjusted according to the weight, we made sure it’s shooting flat at the range of 20 meters all the test shots needs to land in the silver bar before we start the actual test. And we use that as a standard though out all our tests!
