- Hey everyone, I hope everyone is staying safe out there during the holiday's. Today's video is something I haven't done in a long time. I decided to check out a new artist for the first time. George Clanton's 2018 album titled "Slide", is a texturized piece of work from start to finish. This is definitely one of the most underrated project's I've heard in awhile. I feel like everyone should experience this album. Some of the instruments and sounds that can be found, are truly just so incredible to listen to. It just goes to show how creative George Clanton is. I hope everyone is staying safe out there and taking care of themselves. Have a happy New Year. Take care.

This is actually my favorite album. I love it for all its interesting sounds and especially if you listen to it on vinyl the whole album just flows together so well. My favorite song on this has to be LIvin Loose, and Slide. In particular the 2nd half of slide where the song just explodes and it doesnt stop till the end of the song. That part right there always gets me. Glad you finally listened to my album and enjoyed it.

You Lost Me There has one of the greatest drops I’ve ever heard, it’s crazy how textured and emotional George can make synths sound

To me this album is great to just appreciate the big things and little things about life. Like going down the slide your first time as a kid. Really memorable listening to it on walks, runs, and acid trips haha.

Bro this album literally eats itself like a snake, track 1, 2 and 8, and 10 are like the same yet different. Really beautifully structured, awesome review man.

I get sometimes ppl can over-analyze music and that’s not what I’m trying to do here, just my perspective on the album which adds to my enjoyment: it has many hallmarks of a “breakup album”. Some of my fav albums ever are. But what’s cool about what you mentioned is how you have make it forever at the start and he switches up at the end and says make it all better (trying to fix something).
And this is where I prob go overboard but I can’t unhear it. At the 1:15 mark of Walk Slowly there’s this instrumental break and given the fact that we also hear it on track 1, I’ve for some reason always heard it as some sort of “rewinding” sound. Like he’s trying to go back to the beginning.
Again, I’m def reading too much into it but that’s what great art does imo. Opens itself up to different perspectives.
Appreciate your insight! I often miss so many things, so a different perspective is always welcome. There’s so many times where I think I’m reaching. In my head there's a weird connection between Slide and Fetch by Melt Banana. That second one is an experimental noise rock album and the general vibe is mostly unlike Slide (it's very energetic, almost aggresive). I think it mainly comes from the fact that in both the final song references song from earlier creating a satisfying way to end the album and also both include a lot of sounds that I haven't really heard anywhere else. Judging by this video and other content on the channel I don't think it's really what you or most people here would be looking for or necessarily like, but it's definitely an interesting experience.
I’m not too familiar with that album/artist but definitely an interesting sound it seems like. But if it’s experimental, I can see why you see a connection between slide and it

I like how Slide is kind of a collection of all of his works, from when he was in the vaporwave scene as esprit, doing Virtua . Zip all the way up to his stuff in 100% electronica. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do in his career later
