I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Especially when you said, "our children have been given to us for a purpose." I couldn't agree with you more. My child saved me! "Mothering my child will always be the biggest accomplishment in my lifetime."

When you said, “We need to slow down a little bit and...” then I said out loud “and breathe!” at the same time you did! 😂❤️ great advice!

Great video! I agree with everything you said. Bible, math, and reading...as long as those happen everything else is a bonus. Then there are the days when nothing academic happens because life and that’s okay!

Resisting the temptation to compare is so hard, but so essential to having peace! Another great read is Teaching from Rest if you haven’t read it yet. Thanks for sharing!!

Oh I feel like you are speaking straight to me again. Working outside the home, and trying to school and keep the house clean is about to push me off the edge. My oldest is 11 and we've been relaxed homeschoolers for a lot of years. But, I'm trying to be more structured and he's needing more help with writing. So, I'm getting very overwhelmed. When you started talking about the dishes, laundry, dinner on top of school I about cried. Because it really is overwhelming. I see some struggles lately with my kiddos in some areas. I'm trying to bridge the gap, and it's just like everything is falling apart around me. So thank you for this!! I compare what we are doing, with everyone else. Especially kids in the PS system. It's so hard not too. But, you are so right. Thank you again! - Raylynn.

This is a wonderful video Christy! You are so on point with this particular area of homeschooling. I have struggled with this in the past and have learned that in the end what matters the most is that my children know the Lord and have a relationship with Him, after that comes the academics. Thank you for this video/chat. There are so many mamas out there who could use this kind of encouragement!!

Please pray for me. I’m going into my first year teaching for public school.
I spent many years going to school to be a certified teacher in Cali and I dispose the education system now. I have 3 beautiful children and my prayer is to homeschool next year.
I needed to go heck to the work force to complete my student teaching requirement. I didn’t want to give up all those hard years of sacrifice so my babies will be going to public school for this year. They are 10,7, 5. Many say it’s too late to homeschool my oldest but I disagree.
I know financially having my income is a blessing so I pray God can make a miracle happy and help me find a remote part time job while homeschooling my children. I know he is able.
I have been dealing with alot about the thought of going back to public and it’s now a feeling I enjoy. Please pray for me family😭❤️

If I go back to my childhood, and remember the number of times we moved as a family, before I was 10 years old, Homeschooling would have been a win.
We moved 8 times to different towns or cities before I was 10. I say the homeschooling would have helped me and probably my other siblings adapt better and would have eliminated the “New kid” syndrome feeling and all that can go with that dynamic. If I had it all to do over, I would have homeschooled my own children after listening to you today. 🦋🌷✝️

Yes!! I love everything that you said! We have been homeschooling for 8 years now and I just now in the last year or so feel like I have some confidence in it. I hate that though because I feel like I missed so many opportunities in my insecurities. Comparison in homeschooling or even in our daily walk with the Lord can be so paralyzing. Thank you for sharing your heart!

So true, I've felt Holy Spirit nudging me in this area. I can get so caught up in worrying about whether or not my child is where she should be academically. We are about to do required standardized testing, so I always get nervous if we're doing enough. Sometimes I think back on my own education. The things I remember from public school are the times we were allowed more freedom to explore! Thanks for the video. So very helpful 💕☺️

Thank you for this! I really needed this support! I had some health issues recently and had to slow way down and I've been struggling with all that worry and stress you mentioned... especially with evaluations coming up soon!
    *deep breath*sigh*
Thank you for these heart-warming reminders. 💕
I can't wait to see more videos like this as well as more homeschooling and hopefully more clean-with-me videos too.

This is great encouragement in elementary years however what about middle school? What standards do you have for that age? I have been stressed worrying I'm not doing enough but then I get stressed when I start to do too much! Where do I draw the line??
