If you want a song from sabaton that tells an amazing story, check out 'No bullets fly' but you gotta watch all the way to the end. That or 'Christmas Truce' both amazing songs.
To pursue and destroy the 'Bismarck', the British used five battleships, three heavy cruisers, two aircraft carriers, 13 cruisers, 33 destroyers and eight submarines. A total of 2876 shells and ~300 torpedoes were fired at the battleship.
I know this band is new for you and it is awesome that you are discovering them just now, but they are actually celebrating their 25th anniversary this year 2024. They are a band filled to the brim with absolute banger songs that are both great stories and powerful metal songs. Next ones you can check out from my recommended ones are Christmas Truce, Dreadnought (a personal favourite of mine), Ghost Division, The Price of a Mile and No Bullets Fly. But generally all their songs are very very good. 😉👌 Edit: pro tip for all new people reacting to Sabaton: ALWAYS WATCH THE VIDEO TO THE END. Always. They put messages, information and pieces of history in most of their videos.
Always let Sabaton videos play to the end because you might miss something, like the dedication to those who fought in the battle of the Atlantic in this video. Try their song No Bullets Fly (animated story video), several of their songs have a lyric video version and an animated story version, it’s best if you do the animated story videos because it gives you a little history behind the song, then the song and usually a little more of the story after the song.
The Bismark was made to be the lead ship of the German Navy in WW2. However because of the weakness of the German Navy at the time the ship was left to fend for itself against a whole british fleet who were seeking revenge for the Sinking of the HMS Hood. I believe this video in particular was sponsored by World of Warships a video game focused on ww2 naval combat Sabaton just recently replaced there lead guitarist with a old returning one and announced there next upcoming album. If you want to hear a song from last year i recommend the song "First Soldier" The animated story video.
I always found it fascinating the fact that the royal Navy's swordfish torpedo biplanes were actually too slow for the Bismarck's guns to target. Basically giving them free hits on the ship.
@@johncostello6006 Well keep in mind by the time of the sinking of the bismark it was still a bit early in the war, the US hadnt even joined yet. And the germans have always been renowned across the globe as masterful engineers, combine that with german pride and they were unstoppable.
Yes, they are still active. There is a lot on their channel. I think they just celebrated their 20th or 25th anniversary. Thanks for doing another reaction! They actually visit some of the location they sing about. HAIL VASC NATION!
Sabaton is currently celebrating their 25th anniversary. They have 2 original members from 1999, the singer/songwriter Joakim Brodén & basist/band manager Pär Sundström. They are currently in the studio making their 11th album. 1 of their albums, "Carolus Rex" 2012 about Swedish history is made twice, all songs are both in english & swedish. Otherwise they sing in english. Sabaton has a separate history channel on youtube - Sabaton History They will be in the USA in april/may 2024 to open for Judas Priest tour (they are a "special guest", I think the difference is about money & playing time.) Sabaton songs to start with (they have over a 100 now & are epic live): Christmas Truce - official music video (it should have live acting, not animated) En Livstid I Krig - Great Tour, at Gothenburg LIVE. (It's in swedish, but has good subtitles!) 1916 - official music video (it's a "cover" of a Motörhead song) The Red Baron - Great Tour LIVE in Berlin (it's a fun one) Ghost Division - Official live video (2012, with the returning guitar player Thobbe. They still open most shows with this song.) Sabaton in 2024: Joakim Brodén, 1999- (lead vocals, keyboards, some guitars, main song writer, 50% lyrics) Pär Sundström, 1999- (bass, 50% lyrics, backing vocals, band manager) Chris Rörland, 2012- (guitar, graphic design, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals) Hannes Van Dahl, 2013- (drums, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals) Thobbe Englund 2012-2016 & 2024- (guitar, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals) One of their guitarists left last month to focus solely on his own music & lead singer stuff. He has his own fans and they will want you to check him out for sure. I think he's a good singer, but not something that hits for me personally. Tommy Johansson, 2016-2024 (guitar, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals)
YOU BET They still are releasing amazing "History Metal!!!". Go check out their musicvideos for "Race To The Sea", " Christmas Truce""The Royal Guard" "Seven Pillars Of Visdom"" Last Dying Breathe" etc etc etc..
First battle scene is Bismarck damaging the Prince of Wales followed by the Swordfish biplane dropping the torpedo that damages Bismarck's rudder. Second battle scene is Bismarck and Rodney exchanging fire while Dorsetshire launched torpedoes. King George V was heavily involved in the shooting too but he's not really represented in the video.
This song was made for world of warships game. The same company also did "steel commanders" for world of tanks game. If you like Nightwish you will love "Christmas truce (the official video" - play to the end especially if like nightwish. Also check the sister channel "Sabaton history" they do a complimentary doco to with their songs. 126 docos have been made.
