The original Star is Born was in 1937 starring Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland was in a 1954 remake, Barbra's was in 1976, and Gaga's was the most recent. Barbra starred with Kris Kristofferson, who is a well regarded songwriter, singer, and actor. He and Johnny Cash were friends among many other songwriters of their era.
Barbra won her second Oscar for writring the music to "Evergreen". Kris Kristofferson, Rhodes Scholar, actor, song-writer, musician. The third remake of "A Star Is Born". Lady Gaga's and Bradley's was the fourth. The applause heard at the end is the lead into the next scene in the movie...
Yes, that was a live rehearsal that, after just one take, was so perfect they decided to incorporate it in the movie as a scene. Barbra and Kris Kristofferson had great chemistry in this movie, and I think it's the best version of the four iterations, with the exception perhaps of the 1954 Judy Garland version. The 2018 Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper version was pretty much a remake of Barbra's 1976 version, which was a huge departure from the previous two versions. Check out the longer version of Barbra's duet with Donna Summer on "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)". I think you'll be blown away by Barbra's vocals in this.
This is from the 1975 version of A Star is Born that is singer songwriter actor Kris Kristofferson. The movie in different variations has been around for a long time. The first in 1937 with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March,1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason, and the most recent one with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
Judy Garland in her turn at A Star Is Born gave us The Man That Got Away. Evergreen is not only a singing tour de force for Barbra but I think she wrote this song.
Best vocals of our time Barbra is amazing and accomplished so much in her life and helped so many.. More of Babs.. Memory, Somewhere, Music of the night.. So many songs to choose from.. Thanks for your reaction..
Paul Williams has done some acting too. He was the short guy selling guns in ‘Baby Driver’. He also wrote the song ‘We’ve Only Just Begun’ which was a hit for The Carpenters.
Kris Kristofferson singer, songwriter. He’s written many famous songs including Sunday Morning Coming Down, Why Me Lord, and Bobbie McGee, recorded by Janice Joplin. He was part of The Highwaymen with Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings. You might know him from Blade Runner and the sequels. Also, there have been four versions of A Star Is Born, the first in 1937.
BARBARA IS ONE OF A KIND , ONLY ONE I. HISTORY TO WIN GRAMMYS , OSCARS, EMMY AWARDS AND TONY AWARDS .......THE GREATEST FEMALE SINGER EVER.... M EF ERS !!!!!!
The original "A Star Is Born" produced by David O. Selznick, in 1937, starred Janet Gaynor as an aspiring Hollywood actress, and Fredric March as a fading movie star who helps launch her career. Available in full here on youtube by the way. I saw it a few days ago.😮 Some film historians believe that the marriage of Barbara Stanwyck and Frank Fay was the film's real-life inspiration. This version was made in 1976. I saw it at the cinema and cried so much, as most of the audience did. It boosted both Barbara and Chris Kristoffersons' careers. Loved it. Loved the latest but out of the 3 I loved this one the best. ❤ As for Barbara "running the show" that was the whole point of the movie which they portrayed beautifully here in this scene.
If you want to see Barbara in a movie I highly recommend What's up Doc? also starring Ryan O"Neal it is hilarious with an epic car chase scene fantastic. Although this version of A Star is Born with Barbara and Kris Kristofferson is incredible 👍
and THAT movie, what’s up doc?, was 3rd on the remake train of ‘bringing up baby’ and ‘man’s favorite sport’, which starred cary grant, katherine hepburn and rock hudson, paula prentiss.
This song/scene is from the movie, "A Star Is Born" this is the 3rd. remake of the movie. The original movie was made in 1939, then a remake in 1957. Then this Streisand/Kris Kristofferson version. ( Kris is a musician, song writer, country singer and actor). Just a few yrs. ago Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper made the 4th version. I have seen all 4 versions and Streisand's is the best, overall. Next check out Barbra singing "Somewhere" ( video version). Also: Barbra and Donna Summer duet........."No More Tears/Enough Is Enough". ( extended version...album) Barbra and Barry Gibb duet.................."Guilty". ( video)
a star is born 1937 janer gaynor,fredric march 1954 judy garland,james mason(british actor) 1976 barbara streisand,kris krisiofferson 2018 lady ga ga,bradley cooper.
To hear another side of Barbara's voice check out "Prisoner", the theme from the movie The Eyes of Laura Mars. What she does with her voice is incredible. Was on one of her Greatest Hits albums.
Kenny and Dolly duet - Islands In the Stream. There is a live low-def version from some awards show that is great. She steps on his foot and says Excuse me Kenny one....
Lady Gaga is in the 3rd remake of A Star is born. This is the 2nd and the guy is Kris Kristopherson., a great country song writer and singer. "Sunday Morning Coming Down" is an iconic country song.
The Lady Gaga version in the 4th remake of A Star is Born. Barbra's was the 3rd and Judy Garland's was the 2nd. The 1st version wasn't a musical and was made back in the 1930s I believe. Must be a popular storyline 🤷🏽♀️
Barbara and Kris’ version of A Star is Born is the third version of the movie. Lady Gaga’s version of the movie is the fourth. The first one was in the forties and the second one was done in the fifties.
Yes, live performance. Pretty sure that was Barry Gibs she kissed in the song but they never hooked up, he seemed a little more than surprised in his reaction.
Barbra wrote this song - it was her first. She won an Oscar for it. And a Grammy. The scene is from the movie yes - the version with Kris Kristofferson - he plays a musician in decline - so his part is intentionally off key.
Kris Kristofferson wrote many of the hits of the early 70s, including Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin, Help Me Make It Through the Night by Sammi Smith, For the Good Times by Ray Price, Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down by Johnny Cash, and others.
The original ASIB was from 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March and even that film is somewhat similar to the 1932 film What Price Hollywood. The earlier film was directed by George Cukor who 22 years later would direct Judy Garland in the 1954 ASIB.
Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson are not even in the running for the "Original Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga" since their version of "A Star Is Born" was the third movie version and the second musical movie version. The original movie "A Star Is Born" hit the silver screen in 1937. This early Technicolor film starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. However, this movie was not a musical. The first musical movie of "A Star Is Born" was the 1954 film starring Judy Garland and James Mason. The second musical movie of "A Star Is Born" was the 1976 film starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. The third musical movie of "A Star Is Born" was the 2018 film starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. Since the 1954 version was the first musical version, that makes James Mason and Judy Garland the "Original Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga." Many critics consider the 1954 version to be the best version. It ranked number 7 on the American Film Institute's (AFI) list of the 25 Greatest Movie Musicals Of All Time. The other versions did not make that list.
The movie is Gaga is a Star is Born but Barbra did A Star is Born in 1975/76 and although I love Gaga Barbra's movie made more since how the music flowed with the movie. If you listen to the album version Kris Kristoferson is not on it, which is purer.
Except for Shallow from the Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga version of A Star Is Born I think the the best music was from the 1976 version of A Star Is Born with Barbara Streisand. The 1937 version was not about a singer, she was an actress so there was no music. In the 1954 version with Judy Garland I think she gave the best performance. I actually like the actor Fredric March the best from the 1937 movie. The 2018 movie won the most awards. All four versions were exceptional but for different reasons. That is kinda of unusual for remakes.
She did this live, in one take. She’s brilliant.
This was recorded live singing. No lip-synch.
Evergreen written music by Barbra and lyrics by Paul Williams.

She paints with her voice. NEXT - try The Way We Were'", also from a movie by the same title.
I honestly think she has the cleanest purest sounding voice ever.
Some vintage Barbra!!!! From Funny Girl "My Man".
JAW DROPPING. And, "Somewhere ". OMG.
Yeah that was a live Mike and yeah she’s got pipes like very few others

Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion duet.....Tell Him
Both will blow your mind!!!!😊

Divine Barbra!
It was live indeed, but the crowd was just a transition for the next scene, which took place at a stadium.

I just recommended the song Highway Man recently with those guys! Kristofferson is on it too!

Love her forever but she’s definitely not the only EGOT winner in history. Just saying. There’s several.
Audio version with just Streisand, is absolutely the best. I love the movie starring with Kristopher.
Barbra is perfection❤❤

It was LIVE!...😂
Best female vocalist ❤
I'm pretty sure the "Easy Listening" chart became the "Adult Contemporary" chart. And yes, it's live.
First I've heard this live versions -- It's quite good. the studio version is very polished.
It’s a remake of A Star Is Born, Lady GaGa’s was a remake of a remake.
She's getting cozy with "Whistler" from Blade movies.
her other epic ballad is "The Way We Were."
She is a very good actress and she sings like an angel!
This version of Star is a born is my favorite.
If you want to see Barbara in a movie I highly recommend What's up Doc? also starring Ryan O"Neal it is hilarious with an epic car chase scene fantastic. Although this version of A Star is Born with Barbara and Kris Kristofferson is incredible 👍

This is a scene from "A Star is Born," with Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.
Pretty sure there's 4 different versions of A Star is Born. It's like they remake it every 20 years.
I love this song so much ❤

@@DebbieH5731 Sounds like a Stallone series.
The finale from this movie chocks me up everytime!
WITH ONE MORE LOOK AT YOU/ARE YOU WATCHING ME NOW? DO IT!❤❤❤❤❤
This is a 1970s remake of A Star Is Born (from the 1930s). The Lady Gaga movie is a remake based off of this.
Barbara and Kris’ version of A Star is Born is the third version of the movie. Lady Gaga’s version of the movie is the fourth. The first one was in the forties and the second one was done in the fifties.
It's NOT the Paul Williams from the Temptations. He wrote many, including for the Carpenters.
Wait till you see her duet with Ray Charles! Magic.
Yes, live performance. Pretty sure that was Barry Gibs she kissed in the song but they never hooked up, he seemed a little more than surprised in his reaction.

The original A Star is Born starred the wonderful Judy Garland.
Judy's 1954 was also a remake of the 1937 original. Barbra's was third, Gaga's was 4th.
The original ASIB was from 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March and even that film is somewhat similar to the 1932 film What Price Hollywood. The earlier film was directed by George Cukor who 22 years later would direct Judy Garland in the 1954 ASIB.
Its the first " A Star is Born""!!!
It’s actually the 3rd. The first in 1937 and the second in 1954

Actually it’s the third A Star is Born. Lady Gaga and Cooper were the fourth

Young man, you just read that it was from A Star is Born... and you then ask what is the name of the movie with Gaga and Cooper?? Join the dots :D
December 1976
It's a great movie. I prefer the Streisand version. Check out the finale of the movie. Streisand is a legend!
Kris Kristofferson. 1976 A Star is Born
Of course we love Barbra Streisand, but I'm telling you we thought Kris Kristofferson was all that and bag of chips! 😊
No not from the Temptations
A star is born the original Barbara and Robert Redford
The Way We Were starred Redford and Streisand. This is Kris Kristofferson.
Wrong movie w/Redford. & there is an even earlier version of A Star Is Born from the 1930s.
@@sukie584 yes, 1937 with Janet Gaynor, 1954 with Judy Garland.
There are better songs from this movie in my opinion. Woman in the Moon, Watch Closely Now.
