Either through onboard memory or by having it connected to a pc at the same time as it being plugged into the console.
Not to be nitpicky, but I see you're on Windows 11. In W11 sometimes there's additional noise canceling and "Audio Enhancements" to the default audio input source that must be disabled within your windows audio settings to have a truly unaffected signal. I have sometimes found this enabled by default when using outboard headsets and microphones. I don't know enough about this setting to know if it is activated when using a Beacn Studio, but it's possible that recording via the windows default audio input in your DAW is adding additional processing to your signal when recording. I know that Beacn Mix Create can define your default input but I'm not sure if the Beacn Studio can (or if you used these together in testing). Not sure what triggers its availability as an option, but as I didn't see this covered in your video I thought it'd be worth mentioning 😊 I work in AV/UC and recently discovered this when these settings were interfering with the default noise cancellation built into Teams/Zoom in conjunction with third party headsets. At that price point the Rode is the no brainer so I’m going with the Streamer X. Awesome video as always sir. Love the content.
One major issue I can see from the point you raised is that acoustic echo canceller (AEC) used on virtual meeting platforms could get impacted negatively when a loudspeaker is used for audio playback of the far-end participants. When using AEC, non-linear processing including noise gate and compressor placed BEFORE AEC alters echo paths and could deteriorate both near-end mic sound and far-end playback. Since AEC is activated on software codec on these virtual meeting platforms, you basically shouldn't use any non-linear processing for this configuration unless you have an external DSP unit with AEC (which is very expensive). Anyway, for this reason, AEC on software codec will ALWAYS deteriorate the audio when this audio interface is used no matter what its users do (unless they either turn off AEC (which will let the echoes loop back to far-end participants) or use their headphones and turn off loudspeakers to monitor far-end participants).
Is it that big a deal? I’ve listened to other reviews and none of them had this issue. Also realistically what streamer or content creator is going to purposely be whispering or talking low into their mic? This would only affect asmr people I feel like.

@@DarkCornerStudiosfair enough about the lying. I just think the rest of it isn’t a huge deal.
I understand that harris really likes beacn products however beacn failure has always been about lying about their products, using software to fix it and not accepting criticism. That's why I will never buy anything from them
You've earned my sub from these two videos on the BEACN Studio. I was on the fence about the product, but this helps to reaffirm why I've always stayed away from this team since their days working on the GoXLR.
@SavacGaming-l9n thanks for the kind words!(for me...not Beacn) lol
Interesting, I agree with you after seeing your testing, and then point out a bug in the beta studio software causing the issues you had in your testing that cant be repeated in the current beacn software, and you delete it from your comments
Just so you know...I DONT delete comments.
No idea what happened...but I don't do anyone dirty like that
@@DarkCornerStudios I wouldnt think that you would, but my comments on this video were gone when I came back, I thought weird since I was agreeing with you that what your test reveiled was NOT RIGHT! I did your test on my beacn software and it worked like what you where expecting, so im wondering if the beta studio software has a bug that caused your situation. Again, I do agree that with your that that is NOT what should be happening when you turn all those off!!
That the rode podmic usb version or normal your using?
Its the usb
Beacn. Bleah. Doubling down on dishonesty. Insulting an objective reviewer. And inappropriately using a smiley. Terminal Bleah.
@@MuMeiNameless21 lmao.
That got an outright laugh
Too bad it’s Windows-only.
Linux is dog shit anyway, and I use linux regularly.
Please tell senpai all that cause he swears by beacn and even going as far as saying the that product is a lot better than the wave xlr.haha what a joke
I'd say from a software perspective...he is right.
To be fair though...Harris isn't an audio guy
@@DarkCornerStudios i 100% agree with you on that and I'm sorry but I lost so much respect for harris since he made that video talking nonsense and gain so much more respect for you
@Eldon.308 yeah...I still respect him...he is one of the best at gaming knowledge on YT...
Just perhaps not on audio
100%
