If people want 25 year cars, do not buy them from USA import showrooms. They're almost always marked up literally 10k over import/delivery costs. Importing your own is the way to go for sure, and that's why I love this channel.
I imported a JZX90 Mark II. I found it myself, then paid an importer to store it, do the paperwork and ship it. Saved 3 to 5k off the asking price of ones already imported the to show rooms.
@@nitrous36 in fairness though the GTR has always been a great platform since the beginning it was winning races. It seems fair they get a Premium price. I've never been a huge Supra fan, never really was suited to racing on the track. More a boulevard cruiser and straight line rocket. The Silvia's have always been popular since they came out 20 years ago and I suspect good mint ones will continue to command good prices going forward. I can think of plenty of over priced cars, but for me the GTR was fantastically expensive in Australia in the early 90s and was always a bit unobtanium. Same with the FD RX-7's. All these cars are still fantastic platforms to modify and tinker with and I think the 90s was the peak of Japanese performance cars. I actually think they will continue to hold value for many years.
I got a ride in one of them in California at MotoX when I was thinking of buying one. I was going to buy an R32 from them and then they got busted for faking the crash tests.
One of those cars I owned myself...in Gran Turismo 2 that is... 😂 I agree with you on the R33: I used to think of it not so nicely but lately its styling has been growing on me. And the Tommy Kaira body kit looks amazing! 😁
Nur Turbos actally spool up a bit slower than standard GT-R turbos, their only difference is they have metal impellers instead of the ceramics found on standard GT-R's. Their sole purpose was to withstand higher boost pressures reliably which was needed in Super Taikyu racing since the standard ceramic impellers tend to break when running over 1 bar of boost for long periods. Incidently, 1.2 bar is also what they generally ran in Super Taikyu if I'm not mistaken. And they probably are ball bearing. Not correcting, just sharing information, I'll now shut up and enjoy the rest of the countless vids I've missed 😂 I'd somehow forgot about Pacific Coast Autos for a long time and I'm so glad to see the current evolution and growth of the channel. Almost at 100K subcribers!
Looks like it could be their 4 door demo car. The 4 door had a Nismo rear/sides. And if you squint hard enough, you can make out the overall shape of the Top Secret logo on the side and the red "Fusion" decal on the rear quarter.
Thanks for showing the R33, same here gtr33's there is something about them i just love, never owned one cus US.. some agressive wheels, some type of mild body kit and bam lovely
The Weird noise coming from behind the Dash is the Heater fan, there’s a couple of teeth missing from the fan, it should go away after a couple of minutes or so, nice rare car, take care.
@@auroraspace2392 correct in Japan u can get them pretty cheap American mark up is a rip-off this particular one even though a "limited edition" isn't worth much in that kind of shape. I've seen better R33s in Japan for like 20k some were super tricked out with turbos wide body kits etc so this one is really nothing special. The midnight purple was popular on the 33 and so there's alot of them. I didn't really see anything on this car the stock R33 doesn't have.
@@brianparker181 how you get America makeup when then not even coming yet. Your not finding an original tommykaira gtr33 for under 50k. Global auto is the only other place selling one and its over 50k and still few years for US legal
@@celm74 didn't say I got a Tommy Kaira you don't need one of those to have a great R33 the car culture in Japan is awesome and you can find a great R33 with everything that one has and more I don't need a name on my car to have a great R33 that is what I was saying. I use a company in Japan that bids on these at auction I plan to purchase more from them.
Yeah I get it now, Back then I was forgetting that he was presenting a GTR cause I was listening while working and when I heard him only say "R33" without the GTR..... I was thinking from a different direction. lol
DAYUM this engine is super built and ticks all the rare options. Perfect candidate for antilag with the built bottom end. TBH the 17 inch rims with the meaty tires don't suit it well. The wing reminds me of the Devil chibi style ones. That rear end is thicc and this is definitely a collectors car. Have you guys started doing longer term storage now? I didn't get my 33 gtr from you guys because you said the max storage you offer is 6 months. I've still be recommending you guys to others but it would be nice to know your storage options.
This is my car and before I bought it I talked to them about longer term storage (longer than 6 months) in case I found something later on and they said they would store it but they don't battery tend or start the car occasionally so it's buyer risk. Probably should just email them for clarification. Maybe they will do that stuff if you pay extra idk.
Car built in 2006? huh? The auction sheet says car went in for a "engine full refresh" in '06 ( rings and valves ) . The next owner rebuild with new block and pistons. The wheels and other ad ons looks mid 1990s.
Depends on the model and parts installed. You can find gtrs for 20-40k USD, and you can find gts25t for 10-20k USD. The cars are cheaper if they're "clapped out" and modified like roll cages and suspension work and removed back seats will make the cars cheaper. The real challenge is winning the auction!
It's not one of the original cars as he said in the video. It was sent to Tomita in 2006 to be rebuilt by them. Only the original cars get that plaque. Probably by then the wheels were NLA but who knows why the previous owner doesn't have them.

Not to mention many importers clock them back. Very hard to find an honest importer.
Yeah ive seen many trying to charge 80k for r33 gtrs
Spot on. Supras snd GTRs are victims of the Fast and Furious tax and for Silvias its the drifter tax. Importers are capitalizing on it.

But is it a tommy kaira edition?

Very cool. Crazy that the owner got it for under 40k USD shipped.

What a nice car!! That noise in the dash is one of the HVAC actuator knocking. Wish I could afford something like this😭
