“I don’t have a big issue with helmet holes, like other TH-camrs”
Shots fired
i dont either
I don’t either
I don’t either
When you have bot in hands the no hole looks alot better tbh
@@realitycheck908well duh. But which one has more play value?
Went back on a nostalgia trip a few minutes ago watching your Endor set video that I would rewatch 24/7 as a kid until I got the set, then come here to see you reference it. 25 years already... WILD.
That Endor Bunker has a special place in my heart, it was the only set I received a Chrome Darth Vader in (they were randomly placed in 2009 sets for the 10th anniversary), I still have that Vader sealed 15 years later..
@@SolidBrixStudiosmannn I got the OG endor set back in 2010, but two weeks after building, my mum chucked it in the lego box with all the other stuff, and well… it disintegrated.
Being 9 at the time too complex a set to rebuild. To this day resides in various boxes 😭 … in pieces 😭😭😭😅
I recall there being a printing error on the instructions 😂
Probably worth a fair bit nowadays 😅 still got the box actually…
@@SolidBrixStudios You and me both my friend! And MAN I was never lucky enough to find one. I went crazy trying to find them
An Ebon Hawk UCS with minifigs of the whole party. It's nice to dream... 😮💨
Oh man that would be a dream
we'll never get kotor themed sets
maybe if kotor remake ever releases and it becomes popular@@Ahzuv2
Thank you for folding the pouldron. Really hoping that saw guerrera looks good.

$55 dollars for what used to be a $25 set is insane
There has never been a Lego Star Wars set with over 500 pieces and 7 figs for $25
Man...those prices are getting steep, especially that Tantive set. Those figures are like $0.10 to produce and maybe 0.02 extra for the limited ones
You're one of the first people I've seen in a while that is actually realistic about the production costs. Too many times I've seen "but the figures are worth $5 so it's good value!"
I've never thought about how much it actually costs Lego to make them but reading your comment... you're right, it's definitely MUCH cheaper than we all assume. Good point!
Finally 1 person out of 25,000 people who said that the prices are ridiculous. Nobody cares about how much Lego is charging for their products. And we have people like these TH-camrs who glaze Lego for their own monetary gain and business here. Seriously take one good look at that tantive hallway (I mean half a hallway that isn't accurate) and ask yourself is that really worth $55+ dollars? I mean you only get 2 stormtroopers and 2 rebels despite there being way more than that in the scene in the movie. There is no 'plans chip', there is no middle door as it's literally half of a hallway, and maybe I should say a quarter of a hallway because it doesn't even have the side of the hallway's walls. Design of the "quarter" hallway's wall is also lacking
It's a sad reality that we are buying products that, to produce, are probably around a tenth of the price that they sell for.
Thank you for putting on the fives armour piece properly, I hate seeing it flat, and on top of the backpack pieces 😅
Can’t wait to see what we get for revenge of the sith sets. I hope we finally get a UCS arc 170.
I would love a UCS Mustafar, all the other Mustafar sets don't do that scene justice
I wouldn’t be surprised if we got 2 or 3 mediocre sets next year for the anniversary tbh… But on the optimistic side, I hope we get at least 4 or 5 great rots sets next year.
@@KingSlendywhat's the point of that? Even Coruscant is more iconic
David's new phrase hyperfixation is "___, ____, and heck, ____"
Its the new "Without do, lets ..."
Also, if Lego can do the crazy prints on animals in Friends sets, they could do a proper Fives helmet.
Malak was not from the Old Republic game. He was from the Knights Of The Old Republic game. Thats different. The Old Republic is an MMORPG that takes place a few hundret years after Knights Of The Old Republic. So technically the only Kotor Lego we ever got was Darth Revan in a polybag, and now Malak. And though Revan was also in the Old Republic, he was no longer a Sith.
And the Polybag clearly says "Darth Revan", and came with a red lightsaber.
I can’t see something like the R2D2 being overpriced while the hallway set is simultaneously “good value.”
I hope that Lego gives us at least 4 or 5 great rots sets next year for the anniversary. But knowing Lego’s track record for prequel anniversary sets, I wouldn’t be surprised if we got 2 or 3 mediocre sets.
IMO I prefer the previous videos where you appear on camera and gives intros etc also there is way less edits and pauses between each sentences before. Still nice video!
Experimenting! Why not do both 😃
Same I like the old reviews better
Yeah you can definitely tell he’s reading a script for it. He doesn’t have the same passion as he did when it was spontaneous
@@SolidBrixStudios Thx for replying,I still think the old reviews are better, but I still love your channel!👍👍👍
we need more named clones like Echo, Waxer, Boil, Jesse, Wolf, Bly etc.
I like both sets, will definitely get them at some point
Great sets!! Thanks for an awesome video 🎉
I see where you are coming from with fives but I feel like he would have made an appearance already if Lego wanted to throw him in a regular set. As well as this making him a 25th anniversary exclusive and taking into account how he’s a fan favourite character it will most certainly boost his resale value.
I'm a big fan of the Old Republic sets too. My favorite ship in the SWU or any other scifi world is the Sith Fury-class Interceptor and Malgus is a bada$$. I've done music videos on on Darth Malgus and The Old Repbulic
I'm getting the Tantive IV hallway May 4. I'll hybrid the official figure with my Minfigs4u custom fig to make the perfect Fives.
For fives, it is really easily fixed with a blue thin liner posca, I did it for mine and it works so well and looks so much better
The R2D2 is fire
I built the hallway set entirely backwards.
Thank you! Finally! Someone shows off that the shoulder pads/double pauldron can be folded to actually look good! I don't get how literally everyone's reviews online so far don't do this and just criticise it for being a flat piece of rubbish. It's a fully printed double pauldron and looks epic! We should be thanking Lego for finally printing these details, just like the customs we've had for years! And those customs had to be folded too!
It's a pity about the helmet printing, definitely their new printing method makes that area around the fin un-printable for some reason (you can see it's the same area left blank for 212th, 332nd, Cody, and gunner figures recently with top helmet printing. I'm just so happy that the pauldron has finally been confirmed by you that it is indeed foldable! I've been watching so many reviews to just confirm what the material is like as you just can't tell from still shots of the figure in videos. When I get this set, I'll probably use the age-old technique of putting the pauldron on (without the backpack build), then putting a clone wars solid plastic torso armour piece and leave it like that for a couple weeks in a draw somewhere until the pauldron folds have been properly set in place.
i got the r2d2 for the darth malek built the r2 an found it looks cooler than i thought it would be it like a perfect lil display piece for my desk lol
LEGO needs to work harder to get my money...
Wow..Its been 25 years of Lego SW??? Time flies.
The goat has returned when we needed him most! 😎😎
Is that what's on Fives' helmet, a Rishi Eel? Hmm learned something today
For me 5s is good 👍 I got him ,the helm could be better but it looks decent
That being said ill prob replace it 😀
If they won't give us kamas even on collectible minifigures, I think they should at least use dual molded legs, that would've worked fine for Rex and clearly delineated the kama around the whole leg without any extra printing (though they could easily put the blue stripe on the edge). For Fives, ignoring the helmet because that's just something I think we're gonna have to learn to deal with unfortunately, he should've had dark grey legs. His kama, greaves and boots are all dark grey so it would've made far more sense to use dark grey legs and print the white thigh and waist armour. Especially considering Lego's consistent refusal to use dual molded legs which would make so many clones look infinitely better due to the issue with printing close to the toe often causing a gap between the knee and foot printing. See: 187th Legion trooper, Shock Trooper and Fives for reference. The issue doesn't come from Lego's refusal to use extra parts to make higher quality figures, frankly I'd just purchase customs if I cared that much, but not spending enough time in the design process to figure out how to optimally design figures to be as accurate as possible.
Damn it, i gotta get the tantive IV set. I have alot of the clone war sets from the last few years and i cannot pass up the oppurtunity to get Fives
I am really glad they have cool box art, i feel like most of the new sets have really boring box art 🐊
Endor bunker set was my first major set
Yes 👍
They’re just not making sets about the clone wars TV show, so I don’t mind them saying they can’t include Fives in standard sets. Your suggestion of ARC Jesse would actually be a more sensible minifig choice for a standard lego set. Make republic Y-wing based on the series finale. Comes with Jesse, ahsoka, and Rex.
Lego went with that box art color because 25th = silver anniversary
yes
9:58 if lego cant do better, GCC can. they have a replacement helmet coming very soon and an arc trooper version helmet already available 🫣
Hey David, just a quick FYI: Dark Malak is actually from Knights Of the Old Republic (known colloquially as KOTOR within the community), which released in 2003. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic
Aside from the bad helmet printing on Fives, the pauldron is so short that you can’t even see it from the front. Looks more like queen elizabeth’s neck ruffle from the 16th century.
😂😂😂
I would have liked a clone captain Keele mini figure, but I understand that the demand for him isn’t that high given he only appeared in the clone wars once.
I feel like the 25th anniversary figures should be both fan favorite characters that would most likely will never appear in a set (Like Malak, Kyle, Mara, Bane,) and/or updated characters from sets that will most likely never be remade (like Malgus, Starkiller, Revan.) The leaks/rumors do not give me hope that they'll be all that interesting.
Hi david is boarding the tantive considered a dairoma?
Why LEGO hasn’t made *UCS set for Chopper* (from Rebels)? Huge set with +5000pcs and movable parts. It is the best droid in Star Wars.
I would buy the tantive 4 hallway set just for the Fives minifigure lol
Same but the actual minifigs from the set are dope too
Awesome sets and minifigs great review
I know we see fives wearing both… but I so badly wished they could’ve used the arc trooper helmet mold they had 2012 with, it even has HELMET HOLES! As it is I like fives, but I just prefer the other arc trooper helmet shape
Big fan keep it up david
That r2 looks like he 's had an acne outbreak with all the studs showing. I'm more than happy with my $240 R2, and I don't have any connection to the Old republic so Malak isn't a draw for me, but a very cool inclusion nonetheless
8:37 the fact that we all know who he’s talking about 😂
man not gonna lie, with the price of discontinued sets...lego should've done more. Maybe re-release the popular sets from the past without everyone breaking the bank like the current UCS sets. They are so out of touch. Who can afford this stuff?
The box kind of looks like the original cloud city box.
That Tantive IV corridor looks really good, very accurate.
Will you review the new Formula 1 sets ? And I know F1 is not that big thing in America.
I want the Malik figure so bad but I can’t justify spending a hundred dollars
Im willing to bet if Lego included a small little graphic guide of the Fives pauldron being folded the people complaining about it would have said nothing. lol
I get the helmet graphic is pretty disappointing and inaccurate but can we also praise the quality of the rest of the print including the printed pauldron in the same note?
25 years is the "silver anniversary", hence the box art color.
Thanks for this video David! I’ve seen so much hate to Fives, and I never understood. Your critiques were fair and neutral. Appreciate you brother!
Heck!
I just recently got the new R2 Lego set, I'm not going to put it together just yet. because I currently don't have the room for it at the moment.
ACTUALLY, Darth Malak came BEFORE the Time of the Old Republic, Darth Malgus wasn't even BORN yet during the time of Darth Revan and Darth Malak.
@@StillSaber I might be wrong, but how is that possible? Revan is in SWTOR is he not? and as far as I know, he's not an old man.
Because Revan is from the Knights of the Old Republic games and they take place around the time of 200 years maybe 300 years before SWTOR I think, don't know the EXACT science of it yet in the timeline, but I can assure you Revan and Malak are BEFORE SWTOR.@@Ash21
And as for the whole Revan not being an old man, the Sith Emperor for SWTOR online game kept him alive for a VERY long time@@Ash21
Olny thing that bugs me about this set is that the stormtroopers boarding the tantive 4 would be middle aged clone troopers ofthe 501st. They're not :/
would been pretty cool to get older temuera morrison heads.
7:43 lego has made it pretty clear they really don't like making sets based on things that aren't based on relevant current media. Other than the REALLY old stuff they won't touch any clone wars, only opting in to doing that for season 7 and the bad batch. This isn't them taking advantage of us, this is the lego design team trying to give us something that their archaic system prevents them from doing. Your complaints are falling on completely deaf ears my guy. Many companies like to completely separate their design teams from the people concerned with profits, I doubt the design team gets much freedom in what they are making
Do the 18+ sets not have the chrome blue branding on the bottom?
They do and I think it looks amazing.
I was gonna say, I think those sets still have the special branding
I desperately want Malak since I have Revan
These sets are a W
3:25 so this means the book Maul is not the 6th fig? 👀
The whips being used on R2's legs pissed me off......
I hate that 50 price tag tbh.. wish it was 35.
Arc Jesse would go hard
Heck.
still don't get why people hate the helmet
The prices are really becoming a joke. These are not justifiable at all. Its becoming insulting
Even Malak doesn't make sense to be with R2-D2, I'd argue that if the figs were swapped in these two sets, they'd be more appropriate. But you're telling me there isn't something Sith themed with Maul, Dooku, Vader, or Palpatine being released this year that would have been a fitting set to include Malak in so that there is some kind of lineage of the Sith of old to the more well known ones from the movies? That's ridiculous. I don't even care about this character, but more could have been done to make his inclusion in a set more reasonable.
And 1000% there are countless Clone Wars sets that could include Fives, there's no reason he has to be exclusive unless the plan was to always make him more desirable with the arm printing and never just be in a set as a regular figure. Part of why I didn't get the 2019 sets is because they were all rehashes so I had no real need, but if I got one, I'd feel compelled to get the rest to complete the collection of 20th Anniversary figures, and that just wasn't going to happen. But on top of that, they did a poor job of managing which figures were appropriate for each set, not to mention only having 5 sets to celebrate the anniversary instead of 6 and grabbing a popular set to remake from each of George's movies. The Star Wars team has been making some baffling decisions in the past few years with only the late Summer wave of 2021 being the most standout wave of sets in a decade.
I know
W video
I can't wait to see the rest of them
God bless you ✝️ 🙏 ❤️
you forgot to put the picture of ben's 20th anniversary figure
5:16 you think........
W
16th, I don’t know why Lego keeps doing R2-D2. I mean honestly who wants a scaled down version.. they’ve already did two R2-D2 already. It seems like Lego keeps getting cheaper and cheaper with all the stickers, but charging more and more not for the same quality.
Not everyone has $200+ or space for a bigger buildable fig
@@generalobi3669 true but not everyone wants them to release the same set 4 different ways in a period of 5 years. Change it up a little bit at least.
*cough cough* good time for geonosis “week” 11 *cough cough*
Great to hear your thoughts on these two set, I’m looking forward to getting my hands on them myself. Although to me the cheaper R2-D2 feels like a steal next to the UCS version!
Instead of fives they should have added fordo
Dude who even is Darth Malek
I agree with Arc trooper Fives helmet issue however the Boarding the Tantive set is a great deal without him even it the set so it is a nice bonus.
2:55 Time to be a pedantic nerd and point out UMMM ACKSHUALLY Malak is from *Knights of the Old Republic, which is different from (and IMHO much better than) The Old Republic. Both belong to the overarching era called The Old Republic, though, so I’ll let this one go, David. 😉
Hi 👋
sup
10:13 - 10:21 prepare to be disappointed
Ya. Under $100, 3 of them have no minifigures.
Why is the darth vader set 50$ 😭😭
The hallway is a buy for me, the Falcon I’m thinking about, Invisible Hand… maybe, but not the last two. I was very disappointed with the Tantive, not even because if the head. The middle section just looks way too weird and disproportioned.
That fives is horrible imo I wish they fixed and listen to us about his print
I'd say the fives minifigure Is pretty disappointing
2:43
Correction: Darth Malak is a character from single player RPG SW: Knights of the Old Rpeublic, not the MMO SW: The Old Republic, which serves as a spiritual successor to both KotOR and KotOR II.
Conclusion: Get your sources better, meatbag.
Retraction: Did I say that out loud? I apologize. While you are a meatbag, I suppose I should not call you as such.
HK-47 mode: *off* :D Great video, I actually enjoy the newer style of reviews!
ik many won't agree w me but i just wish Lego would step up their game equal to the fans with accuracy. minifig and sets, i mean dude the official Fives is SO MUCH WORSE than fan made stuff, i get it costs more to produce but it would just look so much better

People bitching about Fives minifigure are cringe.
.
Saying Darth Malak is from 'the old republic' is like saying Qui Gon Jinn is from the Last Jedi
