    CLARIFICATION: As Lawrence pointed out, you do NOT need to dilute this machine. It automatically dilutes it for you. Just fill up the soap reservoir and start spraying!

      Joey Negron that is a good question. There is not an on/off switch.

      When you switch to the water nozzle AFTER using the soap nozzle will soap still come out or will the soap stop AUTOMATICALLY?

    • @andytran73
      @andytran73 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is what I am wondering as well. Since I am cleaning section by section, I would wait at least 10 minutes for soap to set in then spray it with water and since there is no detergent on/off switch. I assume changing nozzle but I need to get in contact with Ryobi.

    • @andytran73
      @andytran73 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      So, I got off the support line with Ryobi and they told me to just switch to the non soap nozzle and that would prevent the detergent from being use.

    Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall.The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.

    Pretty sure that the soap dispenser automatically mixes the water 20:1 so you are able to put the soap in without diluting it in the soap tank.

      @minnesotajack1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That would explain why I was unimpressed with my machine’s cleaning. My machine was diluting the dilution

  • @LDBecker

    I just bought this pressure washer - partly on your recommendation - thanks! After assembly, hooking up to water, adding oil and gas, it started literally on the first pull. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in a new gas tool. Literally the first pull.
    The idle down feature works well - it REALLY quiets the washer down quite a bit, and it comes right back up as soon as you pull the trigger. Until all the air gets out of the water hose, it will jerk a little and throttle down when it hits an air pocket.
    A comment - I don't think you need to dilute the soap. On pg. 13 of the manual it says, "The machine setting of this unit is 20:1, which usually allows the use of 1 gallon pressure washer
    detergent without further dilution." The Zep cleaner which you bought (as did I) says to dilute it 1:20 - which is why HD sells this with their pressure washers. You can just add it undiluted to the reservoir and the machine mixes the water with it at a 1:20 ratio. If you dilute it 1:20 BEFORE you put it in, your bottle WILL last like a 100 years (jk), and HD will never sell you another one, but, if my math is right, you're diluting at a ratio of 1:400 (1/20th of 1/20). Does that make sense?
    Anyway, thanks for the recommendation and the unboxing video. I have a bit of an aversion to Ryobi products (from a few experiences years ago), but I didn't want to spend $200 to $400 more on a commercial DeWalt PW since I'm just a DIYer (but I would if this one gives me problems in the first week or so - I also got the 3yr extended warranty for $60 - not a bad deal at all). From what I've seen so far with this PW, Ryobi has really stepped up their game. Looking forward to your full review soon.

    • @SolelyRyobi
      @SolelyRyobi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lawrence Becker you are correct. Our mistake. Makes this washer even better since you don’t have to dilute anything! We will make sure to make it right in the full review. Glad you like it!

    • @LDBecker
      @LDBecker 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Solely Ryobi not a problem- the wording is a little confusing. When I used it full-strength, it put a LOT of soap out- I might be tempted to dilute it a bit. I also noticed that when I used the flat surface attachment that HD sells for it, a little soap initially comes out as it gets up to speed. Also bought the recommended turbo nozzle- I really like the that one. Used it for a day, started on the first pull each time, except when I ran it out of gas- then it took three pulls to get it going. Looking forward to your review.

    This Ryobi unit automatically mixes the soap 20:1. If your detergent requires more dilution, then you need to do the further math. Otherwise, most detergents require 20:1 dilution, so you can just dump an entire gallon of detergent in. No need for the extra water.

      Not my 3300 psi Ryobi. Lol. That's why I'm on here asking if it will allow so much at a steady pace or what. I started spraying soap pretty good and heavy as I went on It was like it ran out out of soap or something. It's still full Though.

      What about adding just bleach to the soap unit..will that also dilute the bleach 20:1

    • @Inmate533
      @Inmate533 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jas1618 I think you have to check your owner’s manual. If you’re adding the bleach in addition to the soap, in a very low amount, then yes it will mix it automatically. However, my owner’s manual says not to put high concentrations of harsh chemicals in this sprayer, so I wouldn’t put just straight bleach in by itself.

    Just a bit of an update for those that are confused, you do not use the concentrate on any metal surface such as vehicles and keep it away from windows if you do get it on the window seal pressure wash that. There is no need to dilute it, the system does it automatically, I added the whole quart of soap I dont really care lol. First thing to do is wet the area, then using the nozzle tip you can set it to soap setting and it will dispense the detergent to the area that you want it I.E. a section of the driveway then switch the nozzle back to the desired degree for the job and rinse the detergent off. All done.

      Soap is dispensed when there is low pressure. If you don’t have a nozzle or use a low pressure nozzle, soap comes out. If you use a high pressure nozzle soap does not come out (normally). Occasionally you will see a little soap come out if the pressure dips.

    I have had this same PW and love it. Only thing is, my 'O' seals went early on, I had to go to an industrial supply here in town that had something CLOSE but NOT perfect, and the leakage from the seals prevents a nice idle! It does alot of 'hunting' when I am off the trigger. If anyone has a lead on the proper 'O' seals throughout the hose and wand system, I surely would appreciate it.
    I came here for the soap topic, and will look into the ZEP product. I do my whole home and garage every other year (vinyl siding) takes me two days and 7 tanks of fuel !
    NOTE : I also learned to put cardboard under the pump because I burned my grass where ever I parked it for use, the pump gets pretty warm!!! I noted last year that some brown spots are NOT coming off around the front livingroom window area, so I am hoping the soap will work it's surfactants if I let it sit for a bit, then PW off.

    I would NEVER pressure wash my RV. I've been RV'ing for 30 years and you cannot beat a bucket of mild carwash soap and a wash mit followed by a garden hose gentle rinse. Yes it's more difficult but most of us are a little overweight and could probably use the exercise. If you insist on powerwashing your RV, at least go gently and first make sure you regularly inspect and repair the seams on the body. The last thing you want to do is to force water into places it shouldn't be.
