Great review. Thank you. I picked one up on marketplace today and washed the car as soon as I got it home. Of course it wasn’t dirty. Just had to try it out tho. Also never tried the soap but very pleased with this unit so far. EXCEPT for that hose reel. It winds that spring hose up too tight. Then you will likely get it kinked when unwinding if you aren’t careful. So I ordered a two pack of bicycle straps on Amazon today. They won’t be here for three days. But I’m planning to do with them just put the first wrap around the handle and the second wrap around all of the hose. One end can stay connected to the washer. The hose can be coiled in fairly large loops so it won’t be a problem anymore. Thanks again for your video. It helped me decide that this was the one for me.

I should’ve said those were 2” X 16” Velcro bicycle straps. I didn’t need a two pack, but couldn’t find a single one. I’ll put it to use somewhere.

I just cleaned a very large deck that was literally black with pecan tree sap. I soaked all of it with Purple Power - and then started the wash. The gunk came off pretty easily. Of course, it took some time as I had to keep the nozzle within 3" of the surface. After the cleaning - I sprayed the deck down with a diluted bleach solution.

Thanks so much for this video. It made life easier for me when getting started on using. Just one problem. The soap does not appear to be coming through when cleaning. @@ALinsdau Thanks Aaron, I did see the soap moving through the line with the low pressure nozzle. When using the other attachments I thought more would appear during use too, and the soap well is not going down very much, even after doing my entire driveway. My guess is its released minimally. I picked up one of these (used) for a super cheap price - and have been pleased with its cleaning ability. Past that - there is really some "head stuck in bucket" engineering/design here that leaves me wondering about Ryobi.
To start - the whole frame is just too damned short. Last thing I want to do is attempt to drag this thing around with a bad dose of hunch back. I'm only 5'11" - and the handle really needs needs to be a good 6 inches higher.
Next is the wheels. Quite obviously no one at Ryobi ever tried to drag or push this thing around a real yard. And yes, the wheels fall in to and kind of lock up with every little divot. Ironically - Ryobi could have picked up the overall height of the unit by simply putting a nice 10" wheel on it.
The drum. What a joke....but it does have a snappy little handle thingy that folds in - for why, I don't know. Ryobi ignored all that space between the motor and the handle - and put in a drum that winds the cord up tighter than gnat's ass.
Connections: Both of the water connections (In & out) are located so that you have to reach around the frame and get down on the ground to connect hoses. Again - there is a full 16 inches of wide open space between the handle and the motor......
The electrical cord. Why - dear god - is the electrical cord on the bottom? Trying to wrap the cord - AT GROUND LEVEL - in 12 inch increments is almost painful. Again - there is a wide open space between the motor and the handle.....
Lastly - as this reviewer pointed out - the soap container. It falls off quite easily - and there's no way to tell how much liquid is in it.
In essence - everything outside of the actual pump is a bad idea sold for major bucks. Ryobi should be ashamed.

@@ALinsdau thanks! I figured it out, it wasn’t screwing on but it turned out I kind of had to force the hose end into the hole a bit.

I bought the same model at a yard sale. I got home connected it and started to leak at the garden hose attachment. Any clues on how to fix or new parts? Thanks.

You didnt show how to coil the hose. Especially while attached

I didn't like their hose reel. I just hand coil and hang it over the handle. Thanks for pointing this out.

This set was so nice I purchased a second set when I ended up adding a second 50’ hose to my set up. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxG9W58byG1ZFYaD32YfLk74_TrU5mNkXV Only down side hooking two hoses up with quick connects you end up with a 6” ling section of fitting would be nice if there was a union type fitting instead that would save a huge chunk of material in line with my hose. But that’s just how I set it up. I go between a 50’-100’ all the time. Otherwise mine hasn’t leaked once used Teflon tape of course and have been running these since early spring 2022!

Can you the reel hold a 50ft hose?

    • @ALinsdau

It'd be pretty awkward. I just hand-loop it and drape it over the back.
