I was lucky to watch Jeff fight live 3 times back in the late eighties. Very exciting fighter to watch. I think he is the best Ozzy born champ we’ve ever had. Great memories 👊👊
Absolute champion! He was the first fighter that i ever followed and wow super exciting fighter. I met one of his friends at a Christian meeting who Jeff wanted to come to the fight but he refused because he was still filthy on the Azuma Nelson decision so didnt go to the rematch. He's right i dont think anyone could argue who won that fight and if not for that ice bucket incident jeff would have sent him to the canvas. Such a privilege to be in that generation so as to follow him growing up. Been revisiting some of the fights he had and a great trip down memory lane. If you read this Jeff your a true champion and we love ya and always will!
I've watched Jeff's first fight with Nelson at least 50 times. It is one of my most favourite fights ever. However, I switch it off once the twelfth round ends. This is due to the disgusting outcome. Nelson was a great fighter, I was a fan, but Jeff Fenech beat him conclusively. No matter what the corrupt officials would say. That day, Jeff Fenech was not only robbed of the fight, but they took his spirit from him too, as he was never the same again after that scam.
You watched the first fight only 50 times ? That`s it ? I will happily say I got you beat there, same with their rematch in Australia. rounds 3 and 4 of the first fight were two of the best in that generation.
@amck72 I say 50 times it may be more. I think every round is epic in that first fight. Fenech fitness is incredible. Having boxed myself, albeit in the amateurs 147/16, I know how much gas you need in the tank. Fenech's tank seemed to be constantly full. He was a fighting machine.
Champ this is a Self promoting blog, your stating that certain sports icons recognised you and praised your fighting style OK great I agree, then you go on and state that's when I knew I was a Great fighter, Great this Great that, Please give every body a break. Pull your head in, you were a good fighter in your prime until you ruined your career. Champ the great fighter's e.g. GGG who fought up to 40 years of age and defended his title's 10 to 15 times and was unstoppable, Inoue who is destroying all his opponents and won so many titles undisputed in 2 weight divisons Canello and so on, these are super Champions who you never see on these stupid Cornie blogs boosting about there career's they do not need the exposure, the Reason is Champ people will never forget these true Champions who are humble and never bad mouth others. Something you should learn to do.
@@amck72 Hey Champ I appreciate you reading my articles, Listen to this history. I remember watching J.F train for the A.Nelson 2nd fight in Melbourne. What a headache, everytime someone entered the gym J.F would scream out shut the door like a lady going through menopause and experiencing hot flushes. Also his training session's were basic and boring, J.Lewis was an overrated trainer with all his top lined fighters being ready made from other gyms that were poached. I watch A.Nelson training session he was destroying all the local sparring partners who were of heavier weight divisons up to Middleweight including Australian Champions. We know the result, J.F should off done less Yap Yap and more Pow Pow. After all these years J.F has not changed, threating to punch old fight judges, insulting other trainers and referees, dropping former and present criminals names on Podcasts to try and give himself a lift, it's embarrassing. J.F never carried himself like a respectable citizen or a professional athlete. J.F vocabulary capacity is equivalent to a 12 year old street kid who requires a kick up the backside from a cop. He tries to act like a hardman by continuously dropping names as I wrote previously, which as the Mediterraneans say what a Donkey. Real hardmen stay silent out of the lime light mysterious until you upset them, say no more on that subject. I have a suspicious feeling you know J.F, here is some friendly advice, do not say Boo unless it's positive and pleasant, otherwise keep it closed.
@@amck72 Hope J.F learned from that therapy and advisory session and becomes a discent respectable charitable citizen and increases his vocabulary capacity and looses his street mentality personality which is embarrassing to witness. Some friendly adivce to J.F, he has a bank account full of Flus, Soldi, Dinero advice J.F to buy a couple of books and start reading.
Best Australian boxer ever fullstop
You are so right mate

I'm gonna surmise you were dropped on your head as a child. There's no other explanation for your ridiculous outburst
