    This might be the best demo/review video on YT right now. I mean someone could've come here by mistake, looking for paint supplies or something and bought this pedal just based on your effective presentation/audio.
    My question is what goes well with a high gain amp on its dirty channel? Ive found that these types of pedals work best through a clean amp and/ or clean channel.

    • @PetesGuitarUniverse
      @PetesGuitarUniverse  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. And yeah, these work great on clean or slightly warm overdriven amp. The Marshall clone is better for heavier sounds. It has more of a classic heavy mid scoop. This is very Fender like but with more hair on it.

    Wonderful and very useful video! Thank you. I've ordered it and would love to use direct into P.A. for live situations because I don't wanna bring all heavy amp staff with me. Bests!

    • @PetesGuitarUniverse
      @PetesGuitarUniverse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great idea. One thing I would suggest would be to get in-ear monitors too, otherwise you might find it hard to hear your guitar playing the PA when it's facing the crowd. Fold back monitors never have enough volume on stage.

    • @ilkayboraoder
      @ilkayboraoder 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PetesGuitarUniverse Sure! Thank you for advise. But have you ever tried it direct into P. A.? Did it soddisfy you?

    • @PetesGuitarUniverse
      @PetesGuitarUniverse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      YeSorry I've tried it, but no it didn't satisfy. But that's not the Joyo'so fault. PA speakers come in all shapes and sizes across a range of budgets. I am yet to play through a PA that delivers the same sound and 'player feeling' as a pedal and amp setup. As a guitarist your tone must be owned by you. Removing an amp reduces that control.

  • @lowrencemayfield4271

    Very good demo man, this pedal can smash the 90 % of the amp simulations integrated in most multi effects, its eq is impressive, i use a very clean setting with my pedalboard before it ,often with a D.I. after it to play straight to P.A. , no problem at all, very quick for live situations to change tone, no menu scrolling and no saving, just turn the knobs and you can achieve almost any sound.
    Cheers....

    • @harrisfrankou2368
      @harrisfrankou2368 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree it smashes them!.. why bother going expensive? Josh Scott used it reviewing his pedals and pretended it was his valve amp in the video then admitted it was a cheap Joyo and I was clueless...It is only Bias that makes people think it is a cheap sound.
      I have a 94 sans amp as well and I prefer the Joyo for clean crunch sounds...that clean up with a coil tap on my PRS.

    I think it's also branded under Harley Benton in Europe as well. This pedal is GREAT for cleans. My Orange Bax Bangeeter is for everything else.

  • @chrisbingham5665
    @chrisbingham5665 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Good video showing what this can do. Harley Benton also make an identical version of this with the same name. I believe they may licence out the design to other companies,possibly. You'll see the same thing with Mooer,Donner, Rowin,Xvive,Tomsline, Blaxx etc and others I've seen like Nux and Twinote. Thanks for the demo.

    • @PetesGuitarUniverse
      @PetesGuitarUniverse  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I've seen those models, too. It's probably a business thing, where they licence the design out non-exclusively. It's a decent business model, but, as with all manufacturing, there are bound to be some companies using better or worse components. Hard to know.

    Hello Pete. I want to say I really like the way you review the pedal. Your comments are very accurate and opportune. Really dig how this pedal sounds with the voice knob to the left and to the right. Left more mid scooped and to the right more mids and breakup. The only thing this video left me wanting is to hear more clean Blackace sounds...... Please correct me if this pedal is capable o this?

    @Pete's Guitar Universe
    Great video, tasty playing -- love your tone and style. Was this direct line-out? It is a great-sounding pedal. I'm purchasing one. I'm going to be using this line-out but also into an acoustic amp (Fender Acoustasonic).
    As far as the reasoning for the re-branding, I am taking an educated guess, but I'm pretty sure I'm correct. Assuming this is made in China, you'll notice that are many 'rebrandings' that come out of China -- same product, but under a different brand name. I believe that the reason for this is that all factories are technically government-owned and the stuff that ships to the US comes from a factory near the Pacific (eastern) side, whereas products going to Europe I would expect to be produced in western-China factories. My guess is that different factories produce identical items, but are rebranded as possibly a quality control measure.
    Thanks for your great channel. Liked and subscribed. Cheers.

    How would this pedal sound if plugged into the effect loop return of a 100W solid state amp, or into the front end of a Jclean Roland Jazz Chorus

    • @PetesGuitarUniverse
      @PetesGuitarUniverse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great. Solid state amps produce the best clean sound (tube amps are generally for overdrive / distortion tones). So a perfectly clean channel would be ideal for the American Sound pedal.

    • @heikowallauer
      @heikowallauer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounds great straight into a solid state poweramp. Since on my Amp I use at home the preamp section died, I Set this pedal to clean and run it into the poweramp. Overdrive and Wah Pedal in front of the Joyo.

  • @EdA1
    @EdA1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well you may find this interesting but after watching your review I just received this pedal today and I am NOT using it for its intended purpose as an amp simulator through a clean amp. In the last month I have spent a lot of money on a Klon clone, Earthquaker speaker shaker, vintage Boss super overdrive, and Way Huge overrated special… I have been looking for a pedal to use with my tech 21 trademark 60 amp with vintage JBL D120. I love that amp but the only criticism of the solid state is it is a little too perfect and smooth sounding. I was looking for a pedal to just add a bit of grit and edge while the amp is driving, I am not playing it clean. It was suggested to me to try an amp simulator pedal. How funny is it that this $36 pedal is doing a much better job of what I needed than all of those other more expensive pedals! I can set this pedal to barely change the tone of the amp at all and then tweak from there. So not only can I give it a bit more of that edge but I can add and subtract bass and midrange and treble and with that voice control if I wanted to I can really shape the tone of the amp into something else, an added bonus… My only negative is the pedal is quite noisy even when not engaged… So I just purchased the Tech 21 blonde that this thing replicates and fingers crossed it is quieter… Thanks for the well done demo!

    • @PetesGuitarUniverse
      @PetesGuitarUniverse  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great to hear it's working out for you. Get rid of the noise by using batteries. Don't use PSU's in any of your chain or you'll get the noise. Batteries totally eliminate earth / induction hum. Even single coil equipped guitars are usually perfectly silent when you remove PSU's. Good luck!

    • @EdA1
      @EdA1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PetesGuitarUniverse actually I am using it with a battery straight into the front of the amp. Kind of surprising how much noise there is even when bypassed, it’s a new unit but maybe it has an issue. It’ll be interesting to see when I get the tech 21 blonde next week if the issue goes away. Thanks!
